Today's talk is healing through feeling.
Today's meditation chat,
Healing through feeling.
This is probably,
Like if I could teach one thing,
I'm realizing it would probably be this to everybody.
And it's what we avoid the most.
It's what I avoided the most.
It's innocent.
Most of us are taught your feelings aren't okay.
There's something that's wrong with them.
You should be more positive.
I even struggle still with the feeling of anger.
You know so much,
Jamie,
You're supposed to be loving.
Is love anger?
Is anger love?
Like what?
But what I'm starting to learn is the resting place is a little bit before all of that stuff in unconditional love.
And if we think about what unconditional means,
It means love without conditions.
It's this energetic container that we are,
The soul,
The spirit,
Whatever we wanna call it,
The awareness that allows everything to enter into the container that is us.
Like there's so many metaphors I could give with this,
But think of it like we're supposed to be a flowing river.
And those of you on the call that have children or see children,
You know,
Or have children in your family,
We see how flowing they are when they're little.
They just feel something really big and it releases.
They feel something really big and it releases.
We're meant to be like that too.
But for some weird reason,
We grow up in a world,
Well,
With a lot of pain,
Right?
And total misunderstandings about the human condition.
And so it's passed down to us all these rules of what a good boy and a good girl should be.
And a good human should be,
Right?
And so the dark parts,
The angry parts,
The sick parts,
The parts that feel hopeless and shameful and filled with despair,
We go,
I don't wanna feel those.
So we override them.
And we go our whole lives trying to soften the blow of the pain with our chosen habit,
Behavior or addiction of choice,
All done innocently.
Because most of us don't get somebody that unconditionally fully loves us,
Even if we have good parents when we're little and says,
Hey,
It's okay that you're angry right now.
It's okay that you're sad,
Cry it out kid.
You know,
Has nothing to do with how lovable or worthy or enough you are,
It's human and normal.
So as adults,
Unless,
Cause we can't run from ourselves.
Like if the anger is in us,
We can't do something outside of it to try to get it to go away.
What's the solution?
We have to welcome it,
We have to allow it.
Now we're afraid it's gonna take us over.
We're afraid it's gonna consume us.
We're afraid,
You know,
The thoughts I used to have in the past,
I'm gonna explode,
I can't handle this.
I'm gonna be abandoned and rejected,
No one's gonna like me,
I might go crazy.
Whatever the thoughts that we have are,
None of it is true.
The solution is allowing feeling.
You start to welcome this on your own.
You,
That's,
You know,
To me that's what self-love is.
It's saying,
Hey,
I'm giving myself this container of total acceptance.
We don't have to do this on an intellectual level,
But this is the energy behind it,
Of total acceptance to just welcome whatever is arising in me and you might be terrified to do that.
No one's gonna like me.
But here's the alternative.
You cause a major log jam in the river and then you feel tired,
You feel sick,
You feel anxious,
You feel depleted,
You feel like,
I don't feel like myself.
And I wrote in my newsletter this morning,
It sounds crazy,
But the more we shame and block our humanity by suppressing it and not wanting to feel it,
The less our spirit can shine through.
The more we welcome,
It's so funny,
The sun just came out and illuminated me.
The more that we allow our humanity,
Which means welcoming whatever energy,
Whatever feeling is rising in us in the moment,
Experiencing it fully and then letting it release,
The more our energetic space is open to experience our divinity.
So we're all craving love and we're all craving joy and we're all craving peace.
Well,
That lives in the house of welcoming our humanity,
Welcoming our feelings.
We can't have one without the other.
I give the metaphor of,
Yeah,
Like look at a house in the woods,
You go to this house and I say to you,
Hey,
That house contains the bliss and the ecstasy and the joy and the love and the connection and the wholeness that you crave,
Right in that house.
But you know what else lives in that house?
Hopelessness and sadness and fear and inadequacy and jealousy,
That lives there too.
But do you wanna hang outside of the house or do you wanna go in the house and experience it all?
And I think that's why we come down here to experience it all,
To go,
Okay,
I'm gonna be brave and I'm gonna come into this house.
And it sounds really scary and it does feel bad.
It is icky,
It's dark,
It's heavy,
But it will not consume you,
It will not take you down and your light will come out.
So what we're gonna do in today's meditation is gently,
Like I'm not here to slam anybody,
This is such a safe space and I know you can feel that,
But gently allow ourselves to welcome whatever we're going,
I don't wanna feel this,
This is a low grade thing and I've called it a diagnosis and I'm just gonna have this the rest of my life.
We don't wanna look.
Today we're just gonna go,
Hey,
What's up?
And when we welcome the heat and the textures,
We've done these meditations before,
But we're going into a little bit more depth here.
When we welcome it with unconditional love,
Acceptance,
Non-judgment,
It moves.
It just wants to be seen and released.
It doesn't want to mess with you,
It doesn't want to stick or stay.
Now we might have to do this over and over again and we're not doing this to get to somewhere.
That's the other thing,
It's like,
Oh my God,
I need to feel this so that I can be okay.
It's like,
No,
My soul,
My spirit,
My light is okay and I'm expanding my container to hang out in that house where one moment I get to experience this wave coming through and crashing at the shore and then the next moment I get to experience this wave coming through and crashing at the shore.
And in that way of living,
We get to experience peace,
We get to experience connection.
I've seen it time and time again.
The last 10 years,
I've tried to fix everything about myself.
When I stopped fixing and I start welcoming,
Guess who feels joy and bliss again?
It's like,
Oh my God,
There we are again.
It's in the feeling,
It's in the welcoming.
And I,
Like you,
Was taught that is not okay.
That is not attractive,
That is not desirable.
But what I found is I connect to more people.
I feel more love.
I have more abundance,
I have more healing,
I have more lightness of being the more I do that.
So it's never that I'm rejected and abandoned the way that my mind says I will be if I am my whole self.
So anyway,
Let's meditate,
Let's do some healing.
So close your eyes,
You can pop your music on.
Take a couple deep breaths.
It's really helpful to take all of this on with,
I know this sounds crazy,
Because we're all down here in this wild human experience.
And I don't mean to minimize anyone's experience,
It's not what I'm trying to do at all.
But we have to hold these heavy things sometimes in a little bit of lightness.
We have to hold them without the seriousness,
With a little bit more,
Yeah,
Lightness.
Maybe if you can,
If it's not a huge,
Huge thing,
Like maybe you're just feeling a little afraid or anxious,
You can hold it with a sense of humor,
Like,
Ah,
Had this one my whole life.
Whatever level you're at.
But the more we're rigid and we hold it with a seriousness,
The more the energy sticks.
So we wanna take deep breaths today during the meditation.
Relax and hold the energy of allowance.
You know,
Let your body feel like that flowing warm river,
Instead of a river that has sticks and stones in it that innocently you've logged down.
We're moving from the head down into the body.
And we're just being present with what is.
And this,
Sometimes we can be like,
That's the answer to my prayers,
Is going in,
Yes.
Running away,
Because we can say to ourselves,
Is running away working?
Is trying really hard to be okay helping me feel okay?
Or is it just relaxing?
I am enough,
I am whole,
And all I need to do is learn to let this wash through me and release.
And then I get to experience that house that I've been craving to experience my whole life.
Good.
So as always,
Deep breaths in and out of the body.
I want you to be so gentle with yourself.
You are the solution you are looking for.
Deep breaths,
Let it go.
And you just go with however comfortable you are today here.
So if it feels like too much,
Go back.
If you feel like you can do more,
Go ahead.
Deep breaths into the belly.
Release.
Feeling the connection between your body and the ground.
You know,
We do all these tools and techniques to try to get us to peace,
But this is really what we do.
We try to get us to peace,
But this is real peace here.
This is real joy here.
Peace beyond tools.
Deep inhale.
Deep exhale.
This is just a new level of understanding,
Consciousness,
Life.
Breathing into the body,
Feeling the connection between your body and the ground.
And I want you just to imagine that you're taking an elevator right now from your head,
From your thinking down to your body,
Just down to the present moment,
The flesh,
The body,
The energy,
Just whatever is here right now,
Instead of the spinning and the patterns and the beliefs and all the spirals going on up there,
Just take it down to the quieter bottom floor.
There we go.
We're just dropping down into our bodies.
We're breathing.
We're letting everything relax as always.
We just soften the head,
The face.
Good.
Deep inhales and exhales,
Feeling the connection between the body and the ground.
Taking the elevator down and breathing.
And I want you just to tune in first as we begin to the little inner child part of yourself,
The innocent,
Beautiful,
Whole baby inside.
I want you just to say to this version of you,
I'm sorry for all the pain that you have experienced in your life.
I am here now.
And I see and I validate your experience,
How hard it was.
And instead of trying to get everyone from our past to fix it,
I'm calling all of my energy,
All of our energy,
Home to the present,
To right now.
And I'm calling all of my energy home to the present,
To right now.
And I'm calling all of my power back to be the one that holds the key to my liberation by unconditionally welcoming all of you,
Little one,
In your temper tantrums,
In your anger,
In your joy,
In your laughter,
In your tears.
This is a safe place for you.
With giant understanding and love and compassion,
I welcome you with open arms.
And we will learn together how to allow this river to flow.
Down into the body,
On the ground.
And if it feels good to you,
You can stay in the position where you are,
But sometimes it feels nice to put one or two hands on the heart or the belly to see where you're guided.
And I'm calling all of my energy home to the present,
And take a deep breath into your body.
I want you just to get present with me.
No past,
No future right now,
Just the energy that is here.
We don't need to go into our past memories,
Whatever is existing right now.
And you get to ask yourself right now,
Because you don't have to join me in that house.
It's your choice.
But I want you just to ask yourself,
Do I want to go into the house?
In this lifetime,
Do I want that soulful joy and peace and happiness?
And also welcome the human experiences of the opposite?
Or would I rather live outside the house,
Always wanting to be in the house,
Always inside the house,
Always wondering,
Always numbing,
Always running away from?
So you pick,
You choose,
You tell the universe right now,
This is what I want in the most gentle,
Safe,
Easy way.
Deep breaths down into the body and with the hands on the heart or the belly,
Wherever it feels comfortable.
I just want you to ask yourself right now,
Hey,
Little one,
How are you feeling?
Just see what you're feeling.
I want you to ask yourself,
Do I want to go into the house?
Do I want to go into the house?
Do I want to go into the house?
How are you feeling?
Just see what he or she says.
And if there's no feeling and it's numb,
Then we start there.
Maybe it's confusion,
Maybe it's overwhelm,
Maybe it's fear,
Maybe it's happiness.
Maybe it's a physical sensation or a tension,
A heat in your chest or a gripping in your belly or a warmth in your head.
We just ask,
How do you feel?
And instead of looking away with gentle,
Soft eyes,
We look towards as if this was our child.
To honor,
To witness,
To see.
Energy moves fast when we see,
When we experience the all of it.
Deep breaths.
And when your baby tells you,
Your inner baby tells you how it feels,
Your inner child,
The emotion,
The energy,
I just want you right now to say hello to it in your body.
So there's a little bit of space between you and it because it's energy moving through you.
So we just say hello blank energy moving through.
Hello heartache.
Hello helpless energy that's moving through me.
I see you.
Breathing,
Being fully present with it.
Expanding your energy.
Breathing in and out.
Expanding your capacity to feel more,
To receive more,
To be more.
Trusting me.
Hello energy.
And if it feels too big,
Then you can begin to say things to yourself like,
Could I just allow 1% of this feeling to be present?
If this was 100%,
Could I just let 1% of it be in my awareness right now?
And then maybe 2%?
Breathing,
Relaxing the body.
Could I just welcome this in the safety of my own arms?
And I want you to deeply let go of the story around the emotion or the energy that you have,
Pretending that you don't understand thinking for a moment.
There's no story attached to this.
It's pure,
Raw energy moving through you,
Moving down the river to be experienced and then released.
Hello energy moving through me.
No story.
Breathing,
Welcoming,
Noticing what your body does as you allow.
Sometimes it might get a little bit more intense before it releases.
That's okay,
Because you're allowing.
And if it does,
You allow slowly in baby bits.
Gentle,
Gentle.
And lastly,
Could you just allow yourself to become aware if this energy,
This emotion that you're feeling has a texture?
Just notice.
It feels rubbery or wooden or metallic.
Maybe it's cold or hot,
Fiery,
Spicy,
Sharp.
Breathing in the texture,
Just aware of it.
Hey energy,
Wanting to move through me,
Not wanting to hurt me or consume me.
Just let go of the energy.
Let go of the energy.
Let go of the energy.
Let go of the back of the mind.
An imaginary moment.
Lets become aware of what is outside.
I don't want Godre to Tips on me.
I'm just wanting to move through without being judged.
Unconditional loving space of nonjudgment for this to move through your river.
There you go.
Completely present with whatever is moving for you,
Not consumed by it,
But feeling it,
Knowing that your presence will allow it to release in its own time.
Deeply breathing into this energy,
Trusting that the way into the house is through this energy will release.
Your body knows how to come back home to the other states of being that live in the house because you are whole and complete.
Just learning to allow that which is arising without judgment,
Breathing,
Welcoming,
And then letting it release in its own time.
Taking one more deep breath into the body.
Good.
Being gentle with yourself as I know when we go towards,
It can be a lot of energy.
Just let it be energy without the story today.
Allow yourself the softness to move through.
Feeling the body on the ground,
Noticing those tiny points of contact.
Knowing that the deepest of peace and the truest of relaxation and joy is on the other side of this energy.
Not by trying to make it go away as that's temporary.
One more deep breath in,
Feeling the body on the ground from the head down into the body.
Nice soft body,
Nice deep breath,
Aware that you're connected underneath of you.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can slowly start to stretch yourself out,
Wiggle.
Come back and open your eyes whenever you're ready.
Come on.
