In "The Ocean Below Meditation" you will have the opportunity to practice settling deeper than the thinking mind which is "the surface of the ocean." I will gently guide you deeper to the space of stillness within where you can find peace from the storm. This meditation is guided with lots of long pauses in between to contemplate, be still and rest. Great for those wanting deeper peace and healing. Perfect for any level.

So allowing yourself to get settled into your space,

Closing your eyes,

And just beginning by bringing your awareness to the connection between the bottom half of your body and the seat below you.

Perhaps noticing your back connected to the space as well.

Just allowing your awareness to drift into these four walls.

With these next few inhales and exhales,

See if you can allow your body just to begin to melt down into the space below you,

Almost as if the ground is completely holding the weight of your body,

And you allow yourself to sink a bit deeper below,

As if the energy of your body is merging with the earth.

Letting go of needing to do anything in particular here.

Just allowing the body to be soft and easy,

And beginning to turn all of your awareness inward.

Seeing if you can let go of any specific point or destination,

But just trying to feel your way to the opposite of the outer world.

Settling in,

Letting go.

So just allowing your awareness to move within the body,

Within the mind,

And just trying to find your way there by looking for the opposite of the outside world.

Letting go of effort,

Or trying to find something,

Or seeking,

And just let yourself enjoy this process of settling within,

Not needing to know what that means or where that's located.

Just imagining for a minute that you've just reached your hand at the bottom of a pond,

And you've grabbed all this sand,

And you've pulled your hand to the top,

And you open up your fingers and all the sand moves through.

And as it does,

It begins to settle on its own without your effort to the bottom of the pond.

Just imagining that the sand is your thoughts,

And the bottom of the pond is the stillness,

The peace that is you at your core,

Before your conditioning.

The part that lives there right now in this moment,

As we loosen our grip on our mind.

So taking a few breaths here,

And allowing the sand to settle on its own,

The less that you do.

And I want you to see if you can let go of needing to care what your thinking is saying to you right now.

It's okay that you're aware of it,

Just create a different relationship in this moment.

Quite sure what you're saying,

I could care less,

I'm not going to really engage with you.

Just kind of forget about words or what they're saying for a moment,

And allow yourself to make your way from the top of the ocean,

All the way down,

Dipping down to the ocean below,

Where there is stillness,

Quiet and peace.

And on your own for a few breaths,

As thoughts arise,

Just don't care,

Don't engage.

And then settle into this stable,

Still ocean below,

Finding a quiet place to rest.

Whenever you feel ready,

Just allowing yourself to begin to bring your awareness to the connection between your body and the seat below you and behind you once more.

Becoming aware of the space that your body occupies in space,

Noticing the sounds around you in all directions,

Feeling the sensation of gravity holding you down into your space.

Placing yourself behind your eyes,

Placing yourself inside of your body,

And just noticing that you are on the earth.

At your own pace,

Taking three long,

Slow,

Quiet,

Deep inhales and exhales.

In through the nostrils,

Out through the mouth,

Letting everything go.

And whenever you feel ready,

Just beginning to circle the hands and move the wrists,

Circling the feet and moving the ankles and just transitioning into stretching or moving any parts of your body that feel ready to stretch or move.

Whenever you feel ready,

You can go ahead and open your eyes.

Sublime! I especially loved having a new relationship with the words in my mind - just not caring about them. I let go and found the quiet.
