Loneliness is the signature disorder of our modern world. Its pain is as excruciating as any that comes from physical illness, and can be as lethal. It afflicts people of all ages and, most poignantly, young adults. The threat and uncertainty of COVID-19 and enforced separation from friends, family, familiar surroundings, and activities has made many of us feel more lonely. This 10-day course will give you the tools and techniques to balance the physical and emotional disturbance, the anxiety, and distress that loneliness causes and compounds. It will provide the support and confidence you need to live more freely and easily, and give you hope that you can move through shame, isolation, and insecurity to find self-confidence and connection. The program I present in this course is grounded in science, in my own experience of moving through and beyond times of overwhelming loneliness, and in my 50-year experience in successfully guiding lonely and traumatized people on the path of wholeness and healing.


Meet your Teacher

Jim Gordon is a Harvard-educated psychiatrist, former National Institute of Mental Health researcher, and Chair of The White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. The Founder and Executive Director of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, he and his colleagues have created what is likely the world’s largest, most effective program for healing population-wide psychological trauma. His most recent book, The Transformation: Discovering Wholeness and Healing After Trauma, presents a comprehensive, step-by-step approach for moving through and beyond the loneliness, anxiety, and depression that trauma leaves in its wake. Dr. Gordon and the method in The Transformation have been enthusiastically endorsed by Andrew Weil, MD, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Hillary Clinton, and many other leaders in health, wellness, and social justice.
