This guided meditation offers a gentle yet powerful shift from the thinking mind into the spacious awareness of the Heart. Drawing from non-dual awareness practices, you’ll be guided to rest in the stillness beneath thought—the presence that is always here, beyond effort or striving. As attention drops from head to heart, a quiet remembrance of your true nature begins to unfold. This is a space of peace, clarity, and deep inner knowing.

Hello and welcome.

In this short glimpse,

We are going to practice moving our center of attention from the usual way of knowing the world through the thinker or the headspace into the heart and relocated from the center of heart-mind experience a new way of knowing and being in the world.

It's a very beautiful practice that I have found in my own life,

Really instrumental in practice that you can take beyond just this sitting meditation into the world and I really encourage you to do so.

Okay,

Let's begin.

So notice the headspace and that center of normal way of knowing the world that might feel like a thinker or doer often located behind the eyes.

So just become aware of that thinking,

Doing,

Knowing space and allow it to float down now.

So bringing that center of awareness through into the jaw,

Knowing the jaw directly from within the jaw,

Then letting awareness move down through the neck,

Feeling and knowing your neck from within your neck,

Then letting it drop into the shoulders,

Sensing and feeling the shoulders,

And then letting it land in this heart space,

Right in the center of your heart.

Knowing the heart directly from within.

Notice that you don't need to think about the heart in order to know the heart.

Just simply be and know from the space of the heart.

And take several breaths here from the center of your heart,

Allowing yourself to simply rest now in the heart,

Feeling that subtlest dimension of alive,

Awake energy.

And then allowing that awareness to expand out into a continuous field beyond the body,

Into the space in the room,

Into the space beyond the room,

Actually noticing if,

In fact,

There's no limit or boundaries to this sense of being or awareness from the heart.

Just one continuous field of awareness and asking yourself,

Am I aware of awareness?

Or what's it like to actually be awareness,

As awareness?

Feeling this dimension like an ocean of awareness that has no boundaries,

No edges,

That everything that's happening is happening inside awareness,

That there's no separate things separate from awareness.

There's no me in here with things out there.

There's just one dynamic,

Alive,

Awake field of energy.

This is the essence of the non-dual understanding.

No separate things.

No separation at the subtlest levels.

All is happening here inside awareness.

Notice that within this dynamic field,

There can be pleasant or unpleasant sensations,

That everything is pressing through,

Nothing is staying.

So thoughts come and go.

Sounds come and go.

Sensations come and go.

Just allow yourself to rest like a kind of flow consciousness in which everything is through.

No need to analyze or evaluate from the usual center of the brain.

Not needing to control or make anything happen.

And from here,

We say that this space is empty,

Meaning no boundaries,

No edges,

No fixed content.

More like an ocean that has waves,

Is made of water.

Here too,

We can feel this dynamic,

Alive expression of awareness as sensation,

As sound,

As light.

But it is not separate from that which is made of awareness.

Simply allowing yourself to receive all that is coming through in the form of sensation,

Feeling thoughts,

Being known from the heart.

Notice the qualities of being aware from the heart.

You might notice a greater softness or ease,

The space that doesn't need to analyze or think in order to perceive or be,

Which is a quality of being unconditional,

Unconditionally allowing and knowing the world.

We could even call this unconditional love.

This open,

Receiving space of the heart that has the capacity to be with whatever is happening.

Our luminous,

Alive,

Loving space of the heart.

And just allowing yourself here to rest and love and be.

And very gently now opening your eyes and see if you can maintain your center of awareness and center of beingness from the space of the heart.

The space you can return to any time you feel that constellation of thinking in the mind behind the eyes.

Come back.

What's it like to be and know from the heart?

Namaste.

That was so powerful! I felt a definite shift from doing to being. I will definitely be doing this practice whenever I notice that I’m living in my head. Thank you so much!
