Welcome,
My friend.
I'm so glad that you're here.
Take a moment to steady your mind and body.
So maybe that's putting away distractions,
Pulling the car over if you're driving,
Or sitting or lying in a space that's unoccupied by obligation and expectation.
Simply allow yourself to land for this time.
Once you've settled,
It may feel kind to shadow down your eyes or to let your gaze settle.
Take a moment to simply honor how you feel in this moment.
Not how you want to feel,
Not how you think you should feel,
But how you truly do feel.
Bring attention first to your mind.
Can you notice parts of your mind that are feeling tense,
Frazzled,
Maybe stressed or busy?
Allow yourself to notice these thoughts,
Appreciating them as they come and wishing them well as they go.
As quickly as you notice the thoughts in your mind that cause tension,
Can you notice the thoughts that bring ease,
Compassion,
Joy,
A sense of freedom?
Allow yourself to notice these thoughts,
Appreciating them as they come and wishing them well as they go.
Now bring attention to your body.
Can you notice the parts of your body that are holding tension?
The areas that feel tethered and tight,
Be clenched or guarded.
Allow yourself to notice these areas that are grasping for stability and a sense of control,
Appreciating them as they cling and wishing them well as they soften.
As quickly as you notice the parts of your body that hold tension,
Can you notice the parts of your body that feel cradled in ease?
Parts of you that feel truly relaxed,
Genuinely cared for,
Or maybe even energized?
Allow yourself to notice these pockets of ease throughout your physical being,
Appreciating them as they hug you and wishing them well as they house into their home a little deeper.
Now bring attention to your spirit.
Can you notice the parts of your spirit that hold tension?
Maybe areas of you that feel broken or left behind?
Allow yourself to notice the spaces where your light feels dim,
Appreciating them as they work to flicker and wishing them well as they continue on their travels.
As quickly as you notice the parts of your spirit that hold tension,
Can you notice the parts of your spirit that bask in true ease?
Areas that feel light and airy,
Unmarked or resilient?
Allow yourself to notice the spaces that radiate,
Appreciating them as they burn bright and wishing them well as they settle into your soul.
Exhale,
Allowing tension with contraction of these muscles,
Squeezing,
Tightening,
Clutching,
And on your exhale allowing it all to rest.
On your next inhale,
Contracting and squeezing,
On your exhale finding rest.
To give you more rounds with your breath,
Gripping with each inhale,
Letting go on each exhale.
Notice what happens in your body,
In your mind and in your spirit as you continue to invite this balance of tension and of ease.
Knowing full well that we were created with the ability to feel both for reasons beyond our explanation.
We were gifted this gamut of thoughts,
Of feelings,
Of emotions in all forms and fashions that remind us that we are imperfectly perfect.
They remind us that we were made for expression,
Not suppression.
They remind us that both tension and ease can live congruently,
Happily,
Purposefully.
Settling back into stillness now,
Take this last moment to do nothing but bask in the presence of being,
This art of acceptance,
This dance with compassion.
Marking it with a deep inhale in and a long exhale out.
If and when you feel ready,
Opening your eyes and welcoming all that you are and all that you feel back into the world that needs you so.
You are loved.
You matter.
This world would not be the same without you here.
Thank you for joining me and be well my friend.
