So much of our suffering stems from us creating stories about something in our mind that isn't actually true.
We don't know the full story,
So we create one based upon what we think we know.
But often,
It is not the truth.
We don't know how another person interpreted their own direct experience with something,
Their past trauma,
Unique perspective,
Behaviours and state of consciousness.
Humans are wired to give things meaning.
We want to understand things and for everything to make sense to us.
So our minds help us do that based on our belief systems and personal history.
Therefore we must cultivate the ability to zoom out a bit,
To expand our perspective and come to a place of more neutrality,
Acceptance and curiosity.
And a sense that This may be my experience and that may be the other person's experience.
So if you are open to this,
Let's begin this meditation.
If you wish to have a journal with you to write down any insights that come through,
You are welcome to have one,
But it is not a must.
Let's start by closing our eyes and taking some slow deep breaths in and out through the nose.
Dropping out of the mind and into the body and heart.
Feeling your body relax a bit deeper on each exhale.
Bring your awareness to your heart space and notice the rise and fall of the breath as it moves from your belly and into your heart.
Allow your heart to gently soften.
To open.
Breathe,
Relax,
Soften.
I would like you to bring to mind a situation that you are either currently going through or have been through in the past that you feel you are holding onto,
That you know you are being invited into seeing in a new light,
With a new awareness and perspective.
This may involve other people or just yourself.
You may feel emotions such as anger,
Sadness,
Confusion,
And judgment with this situation.
I am not asking you to make this right or wrong,
But to simply look at it again with curiosity and an open heart and mind,
To free you from the suffering you may be experiencing because of your thoughts and beliefs about it,
Which may not hold the whole story,
Especially if another person or group is involved and you don't know their end of the story.
It does not make your perspective invalid.
You are valid to feel what you feel.
But if it's causing you suffering,
Let's ease that.
So let's see if we can look at this differently.
If you have a situation in mind,
I invite you to sit with it.
To be with it.
Be aware of your thoughts about it or the story you are retelling in your mind about it and ask,
Is it true?
Is it really true?
If it's a no,
Then you are invited to let it go,
To stop investing your energy into it.
If it's a yes.

How do you know it's true?
And can you see it in a different light?
Not for others,
Just for yourself.
Can you meet it with more compassion and understanding?
Can you allow yourself to feel the emotions fully to process it so you can move forward feeling lighter.
Is there wisdom that can be gained that you can bring with you in your life moving forward?
I'll give you 10 minutes here to do this.
Feel free to just sit,
Breathe and remain present for the next few minutes if you need to before you go deeper into the situation.

Or to just meet yourself where you are at with presence and grace.
We don't have to forgive or get closure from someone to release the past.
We just need to process what our bodies,
Minds and hearts may still be holding onto and wanting our love and presence.
Any experience we go through offers some sort of gift within it.
So it is up to us to be willing to discover it and go beyond any pain or suffering that we may have experienced from it.
This is gross.
This is transformation.
This is empowerment.
This is for you,
No one else.
Place a hand over your heart and say thank you.
Thanking yourself for taking the time to create the space and go deeply into this.
Go forward being the steward of your own heart,
Mind and overall well-being.
The power is always in your hands to see things differently,
To release and to integrate anything.
