Welcome to this breathing meditation for children aged around 3-5.
Today your child will learn how to take full deep breaths into their belly,
Allowing them to relax their body and be with any big feelings they may be experiencing in this moment,
Giving them important lifelong skills.
So kids,
Take a seat and I want you to pretend that your belly is a balloon.
What colour is your balloon belly?
Great!
Okay,
Your balloon belly blows up really big when you breathe in through your nose.
And it shrinks when you breathe out of your mouth.
Let's practice this together now.
Breathe in through your nose and feel your balloon getting really big in your tummy.
If you want you can use your hands to put over your belly to show just how big it's getting.
And breathe out of your mouth and feel your balloon shrink.
It gets smaller and smaller.
You can bring your hands in closer to your body to show just how small it has got if you want.
Okay,
Let's do that again.
Breathing in through your nose and feeling your big balloon belly getting so big,
So full up with air.
And breathe out of your mouth,
Allowing the balloon to get smaller and smaller.
Great job!
And let's do it again.
Breathing in through the nose and letting the balloon in our belly get really big.
And breathe out of your mouth letting it get really small.
Breathing in,
Big balloon.
Breathing out,
Small balloon.
Breathing in,
The bologna belly is getting really big.
Breathing out,
The balloon is shrinking.
Okay,
Now try on your own now.
Breathing in,
The balloon belly is getting big.
And breathing out the balloon is getting small.
That's it,
Keep going!
That's it,
Do two more big balloon belly breaths.
Amazing!
You did such a wonderful job at breathing deep into your belly today and blowing up the balloon and letting it get really small.
You can do this anytime you want to feel calm and relaxed.
Great job!
