Pressure.
Do you feel pressure to perform,
Look,
Do,
Say,
Be a certain way?
In the human experience we may find ourselves experiencing pressure,
But where does it really come from?
What is its purpose?
We may think pressure comes from outside of us,
From external factors,
From other people,
But if we really look deeply and honestly this pressure comes from within.
It's the inadequate thoughts we may have about ourselves,
The limiting beliefs we hold about who we think we are.
The timeline we believe we are under.
It is up to us to each look within and discover what this feeling of pressure is asking of us,
Because we feel this way for a reason.
We do not need to make it wrong or bad,
But instead have acceptance in the moment of this direct experience with a tense physical experience and ruminating negative thoughts or stories we may be unconsciously replaying in our minds.
So today this meditation is an invitation for you to be present with this pressure you feel and have the opportunity to not suppress it,
Reject it or deny it,
But face it with a sense of curiosity.
So I invite you to close your eyes if they are not closed already and begin to breathe deeply and slowly in and out through the nose.
Feel your body respond to the soothing inhale and exhale as the air moves through you and out of you.
Stay present with each breath.
Notice the rise and fall,
Allowing the breath to naturally flow slowly,
Deeply and freely.
You may notice a subtle shift within you,
Beginning to feel more centered and grounded,
More connected to yourself and to this moment.
Allow your awareness to rest within your heart space.
Notice how this area feels to you,
Without judgment,
Just notice.
Become aware if there are any sensations or emotions present here,
If it feels heavy or tense or light,
Open and warm.
Simply breathe and be with the heart space now,
Just as it is,
Allowing the breath to pass through,
Offering movement to any stagnation or tension and offering a beautiful gentle energy of compassion and acceptance to what is,
To you.
Now in this grounded,
Centered place where you are safe and open,
I invite you to welcome in the pressure that you have been feeling.
And as you do this,
Remember that this pressure is not who you are,
It does not define you,
It is simply an experience you are having because of the thoughts and beliefs you hold.
It is showing up in your life and if you wish to live a life without this feeling of pressure,
It is yours to acknowledge and listen to the wisdom that lies within it.
The pressure that you have been experiencing,
What is it about?
A situation,
A job,
A relationship,
A goal of yours,
Money,
A timeline that you are feeling behind on,
What is it?
Take a moment to really look at it clearly,
What is the pressure from or about?
What is the thought or belief that you currently hold that triggers this sense of pressure within you?
Take a moment here to bring this to light.
Thank you for your courage and vulnerability to being willing to truly look at and acknowledge this sense of pressure.
Sometimes we feel pressure because there is this discernment from within,
There is a misalignment in our actions or life that doesn't align with our deeper values or purpose.
There may be thoughts and beliefs that we hold that do not represent who we truly are.
We may be forcing ourselves into doing something or being somewhere that we know is not for us.
So this sense of pressure is really inviting us into stepping into a life that is more authentic to us.
So until we make the decision,
Take the actions,
This sense of pressure may stay around until we come into alignment with our truth.
Our body is sending us messages so it is totally valid for you to be feeling this way.
And we can actually say thank you,
Thank you to the pressure for affecting us,
For alerting us of something that we need to address.
So breathe,
Let your body surrender and soften as you be with all the sensations and emotions that may be arising within you right now.
Allow any realizations come to you about your unique situation with this pressure right now,
Seeing the gift or wisdom that is here for you.
What is it telling you?
Release any resistance,
Any fight against it and instead face it,
Be with it.
Allow your heart space to support you,
To offer you a gentle energy of compassion.
Allow the processing of any unprocessed emotions.
Allow the release of any limiting beliefs and ways of being.
Allow yourself to ground into your body and truth and out of the head,
Trusting in your deeper knowing,
Putting yourself first,
Breathe,
Soften,
Release.
Notice how the pressure has alchemized into a sense of empowerment.
Instead of the old tense,
Stressed feeling,
You now feel energy rising up within you.
There is a spaciousness,
A sense of freedom and alignment within you now.
You are no longer a victim of this pressure,
But a leader.
You can consciously choose now what you do.
Will you take new actions,
Be more compassionate and understanding towards yourself,
Enter into a new environment or relationship,
Choose to see and act from your higher self's perspective,
To let go of the drama and social conditioning and instead carve your own path and do things at your own pace?
Whatever it is,
Take a moment here to bring to mind your next steps,
Even if it's just accessing the feeling of peace or alignment or whatever it is that you want your life to feel like moving forward.
You are powerful.
You can let go of stress,
Pressure and anything that is weighing you down.
You don't have to live a life of constant pressure.
You can choose what you focus on in any given moment.
You can choose what you invest energy into and whether you worry or get caught up in drama or whether you take a breath and come back to your heart,
Values and purpose and live from that space.
As we come to the completion of this meditation,
I invite you again to return to your heart center and feel into its expansiveness,
Its love and take three deep cleansing breaths,
Feeling so renewed and more connected to yourself and your inner power.
And when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and go forward,
Choosing alignment,
Peace and joy.
