Welcome to this practice.
And this is a practice that you can use like a sitting meditation,
But we're making it so that it's something that you can also do when you're lying down.
You can even do this when you're lying down in bed.
But whether you're sitting or you're laying down your body,
You want to be extra cozy,
As cozy as you can be.
So,
Well,
Before we go into the inner instructions,
We'll take some outer instructions.
It's not important to lie perfectly still.
It's not like the end of a yoga class.
You don't have to lie in a symmetrical position.
This isn't a yoga practice as such.
So,
Let your body stretch out.
Let your body find its position.
And even let yourself feel the surface that you're on.
This goes for if you're sitting too.
Your body's being held,
It's being supported,
So you can feel that.
And if your body is covered,
If it's covered with clothes,
Feel the sensation of the fabric on your skin,
If you're covered in blankets or sheets or whatever you're in contact with.
Just let yourself feel everything.
Feel every inch,
Every square inch of contact sensation.
And feel if you move,
Then there's the sensation of moving.
You stretch,
There's the sensation of stretching.
And you're breathing.
And again,
It's not a controlled thing,
It's not a practice as such.
You're just feeling your breath and enjoying that feeling of your breath.
Just like you're feeling the sensation of your body and enjoying the sensation of your skin contacting whatever it's contacting.
Maybe there's even the feeling of air contacting,
Skin that's exposed.
When you feel your breath,
It takes your attention inside your body,
So you can feel that too and just feel like is your body tired,
Is it energized,
Does it want to be still,
Does it want to keep moving?
You're just allowing it,
Just allowing it.
This moment.
Just like you include your body in the outside and the inside and your breath and your awareness.
Take into your awareness whatever it is you're on right now.
If you're on a chair or a couch or a bed or a floor,
Whatever it is,
You're not blocking it out,
But actually see that surface and context.
It's probably on a floor or on the ground in a room or somewhere.
And just keep panning out to experience this moment in your life.
This moment that we're in right now.
This is likely going to be some down moment.
It's like a moment where it's the end of your day,
You're going to bed,
It's the middle of the day and you're taking a rest.
But the world around you doesn't rest.
I mean,
It might be,
It might be nighttime,
It might be a quiet time,
But you're taking a break in a moment of your life.
You're powering down in this moment.
You're giving yourself over to be restored,
To let your energetic reserves be replenished.
From this moment you're coming into your comfort zone for a But that looks like you in this moment in a body.
You're not your body.
I think you know that on some level.
You're in this body that is being replenished.
And this body is in this bed or on this surface or wherever it is.
But this is all a moment in a life.
This is all a moment in this journey of your soul.
It might be a very ordinary moment.
It might be an ordinary season of your life journey.
But this might be a dramatic moment,
A dramatic season.
Something in between.
How many years have you been on Earth now?
In this form,
In this body,
With the personality that you currently have.
How many years have you been playing this role?
How's it going?
How many things have you seen?
How many nights have you had?
How many nights have you been on Earth?
When this is over,
When this moment,
And maybe this moment turns into a whole night's sleep.
Deep rest.
But when it's over and you wake back up and it's time to move forward,
Then you'll be in another moment.
Do you have a sense of what your soul is here for?
It might be really clear and it might feel very mysterious.
But what does it feel like to have that perspective?
Your soul is here in this body that's taking replenishment,
That's taking a rest.
Your soul came here.
Where did it come from?
What was its intention?
How's it going?
How's it going?
How's it going?
If you relax your body,
You might be able to feel or sense your soul.
It's energy and it's an energy that has always been there.
And everything else has changed.
But the soul hasn't really changed.
Can you sense that?
Like now,
You're whatever age you are,
In whatever place you are.
But this soul has been in bodies of other ages,
Right?
Your body was 10 years younger,
20 years younger,
Different sizes and shapes,
Same soul.
Can you imagine when you were really little?
Can you remember?
Being in a small body,
Child's body,
Can you remember?
Same soul.
Your mind has been so many different minds too.
You think that you have a mind,
But your mind today,
Your mind in this moment,
It's very different than the mind when you were in that child's body.
What you believe in.
What you don't believe in.
What you believe in.
What you believe in.
Same soul.
Mind.
Get amazing clarity.
Same soul.
Body.
You you you you you how many different places have you laid your body down over the years how many different places have you slept what did you have when you were a little child that you loved a bicycle maybe or a toy a pet or something else it's not here anymore chances are you're not in the same place that you were in when you were a little child so different place different stuff same soul maybe you're relaxing so much that your body is starting to sleep and your mind is starting to sleep but do you think that the soul energy sleeps who's there watching your dreams can you sense the energy of the soul is it feel good does it feel does it feel divine when we say that the soul energy is sacred it's divine does it feel that way can you feel it does your soul have a religion or even concepts even spiritual concepts or is it something else is it something more free as your body relaxes and takes replenishment as your mind powers down can you hold the gentlest intention to know yourself as soul have some intention that on the other side of this tomorrow in the next moment whatever that moment is that you'll live more from this place that you'll remember who you are what you are what would that feel like what would that look like you you you you you most of us are much more special on this deepest level than we allow ourselves to be in our outer life it's a continuous journey of recognizing this deepest level of ourselves and letting it be here in this beautifully imperfect body and a wonderfully chaotic mind and magnificently confoundingly chaotic life so much uncertainty so many moving parts so many twists and turns in the plot can we recognize and really be the soul and be like a soul what is that like you you you you even now if you're still here what is it like to just really let go like let go of the body let go of the mind let go like as if as if this was the moment of the end of your life your soul remains you let go of everything else even your breath as your soul is in your body your breath will keep going you don't have to breathe your soul will breathe your body what is that like you you you just let your body be held let your surface that you're on be held let the building where you are be held let the earth that holds the building be held let the whole solar system that we're in all of the planets and sun and moons let them all be held you you you let the whole cosmos all the solar systems all the stars everything that is that it all be held you you you you you you you you you you you
