In the Early Spring, our energy can go from kindness to frustration with the transformation of energy happening all around us. Cultivate the rising up chi by meditating with a Meridian Flow Breath. You will learn how to breathe up the Liver Channel to cultivate generosity and breathe down the Gall Bladder Channel to find discernment and clarity while letting go of any irritations or anger that might be rising in you. This breath can be done sitting, lying down, or even walking meditation. Just visualize those daffodils pushing through the soil and rising up with us!

Welcome to spring and rebirth with the wood element in Chinese medicine.

The wood element involves the liver and the gallbladder,

So I will teach you some meridian breathing so that you can breathe up the energies of the liver and down the energies of the gallbladder.

When the liver is balanced,

We feel kind and generous.

At a balance,

We might feel irritated,

Frustrated,

Angry.

When the gallbladder is balanced,

You feel like you can make clear decisions,

Clarity within yourself.

So to begin,

Find a comfortable seat,

And let's start to do some tapping.

So we tap out this pattern of breath that we will be doing.

So begin to tap your big toes.

As you tap your big toes,

You are focusing on your liver,

Your spleen,

And your kidneys.

This is called the fountain of youth in Chinese medicine.

You're going to tap your big toes,

You're going to go above your ankles,

You're going to keep tapping below your knees,

Tapping your inseams of your legs,

All the way up to your floating ribs.

And that line of energy,

Just take your hands from your big toes,

Up the inseams of your legs,

All the way up to your floating ribs,

That is the liver chi line of energy that we will be breathing.

And we're going to be using a green light,

Because green is the color of the wood element.

Now take your hands and start to tap the sides of your eyes.

This is where the gallbladder begins.

The sides of the eyes,

Down the jaw,

Down the neck,

Down the sides of your bodies,

And tap those IT bands,

Which feels really good.

Down the sides of the legs,

The outsides of the legs,

To your fourth toes,

That's the gallbladder energy.

So take your hands and swipe from the sides of the eyes,

Down the jaw,

Down the neck,

Down your side ribs,

Your side torso,

Your sides of your legs,

All the way down,

Down your sides of the legs,

Out through your fourth toes.

That's the gallbladder energy traveling down.

Energy travels in and up,

And out and down.

So find that comfortable seat.

And imagine that you could squeeze your inner thighs towards each other and contract the energy as you travel in and up,

And then spread everything apart as you exhale and go out and down.

So this is also a little bit of strengthening on the legs.

So let's begin.

And first find that comfortable seat and feel your tailbone draw down.

Make sure your head is over shoulders,

Shoulders over hips,

Hips over heels.

Spring energy is about rising up.

Let's just imagine this energy,

This green light from the big toes up the inseams,

All the way up to your low ribs.

You could put your hands on your low ribs and see that energy rise up.

Put the hands on the outer thighs and imagine it traveling down from the sides of the eyes,

Down the jaw,

Down the sides of the neck,

Side bodies,

IT bands,

Down the legs,

Out your fourth toes.

Hands on the low ribs,

Squeeze the legs in and up,

Big toes,

Inseams,

All the way up through low ribs,

Chi rises,

Green light.

And as you exhale,

You're going to say the words SH,

The sound SH,

Which is the healing sound for the wood element as the energy travels from the outer eyes down through fourth toes.

Hands on the ribs,

Big toes,

Inseams,

Low ribs,

Green light travels up.

Sides of the eyes,

The breath is traveling,

You're visualizing it down through fourth toes.

Hands on the low ribs,

Breathe in that clarity in you rising up.

Hands on the sides of the legs,

Letting go of any frustration.

See it in your mind,

That spring energy rising up.

What do you want to manifest this spring?

Let go of the frustration.

See it in your mind,

Yi Chi Li,

Where your attention goes,

Your energy flows.

Big toes,

All the way up the inseams of the legs,

Low ribs,

Green light.

Feel the breath underneath your hands.

Hands on the outer thighs,

Send it down.

Keep finding that breath.

Big toes,

Inseams,

Low ribs.

Sides of the eyes,

Sides of the body,

Fourth toes.

Big toes,

Inseams,

Low ribs,

Chi rises up.

You could arch your back if you want.

Round the spine,

Tuck the chin,

Send it down.

Chi rises,

Send it up.

See that green light potential.

Exhale,

Letting go of any anger.

Be the seed that's going to crack open.

Take three more breaths,

Let it rise up.

Spring energy,

That daffodil pushing through the soil.

You got this.

Let go of any frustration.

Letting in,

Letting out.

One more time,

Rise up.

See it in your mind.

Green light.

And now just let yourself pause here,

And see that green light rise up from the tip of the tailbone,

All the way up through the crown of the head.

And on the exhale,

Just let it radiate around you,

Your possibilities,

Your limitless potential.

Find it from the tip of the tailbone,

Or from the bottom of the feet,

Whatever serves you.

Let it travel all the way up through the crown of the head.

And as you exhale,

Just let it be that protective shield around you of possibilities this spring.

Let it rise up.

Take that inhale.

Clear through,

Clarity within.

As you exhale,

Let it travel all around you.

Let it be that protective shield of possibilities.

Can you just watch the breath rise up?

And visualize whatever it is you want to manifest this spring.

And as this meditation comes to a close,

Just invite yourself to rub your hands together,

Sealing this practice.

Bow your chin to your chest,

And just set that intention,

I am,

And fill in the blank.

Whatever it is that you want to manifest,

I am.

See it in your mind.

Breathe it into every cell.

I am.

Thank you so much for this practice.

May it be so.

Namaste.
