Transcript

This is a guided meditation to teach you about the Governing Vessel and the Conception Vessel in Chinese medicine,

Which will help to balance your yin and yang energy.

The Governing Vessel runs up the back body,

Starts in the belly,

And runs up the low back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Around the head to the third eye.

And it's your yang energy.

It's your springtime rising up energy.

It's your go get em energy.

The Conception Vessel runs down through the throat,

Down through the heart,

And down through the belly.

And it's the yin energy.

It's the calming,

Soothing,

Grounding,

Nurturing energy.

It's the moon-like energy.

So invite yourself to find a comfortable seat.

Or you can lay down.

But give yourself a moment to be really comfortable.

And invite yourself to just land here.

And just notice what's touching down,

What's grounded,

Whether it's your knees,

Your tailbone,

Or if you're laying down,

Your back,

Your back of your head,

Your heels.

And just invite your energy to go downwards,

Deep into the earth.

And notice your body breathing you.

All this while,

Your body is breathing you.

And energy comes in,

And energy goes out,

All on its own,

All the time.

It's our life partner,

Our breath,

Our forever valentine.

And we can also direct the breath,

Focus the chi,

As we will today,

Breathing up the back body and down the front.

So begin to just inhale through your nostrils and fill your belly.

And just imagine this energy that travels from your belly up through your low back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Around your head to your third eye.

See it travel up the back.

And then just imagine it cascades down the front,

Down through your throat,

Down through your heart,

And down through your belly,

Going in and up.

So that breath comes in,

Fill the belly,

And you see it like a golden light up the low back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Around the head to your third eye.

And then just compress the chi down through the throat,

Down through the heart,

Into the belly,

Insert it in.

That yang energy up the back,

And that yin energy down the front.

And just feel it as a circle of breath.

The energy comes in up the back body and down the front.

And let it be even.

So whatever breath works for you,

Whether it's inhale for four and exhale for four,

Visualize it traveling.

So you fill the belly and it expands into the low back,

The kidneys,

The back of the heart,

The back of the neck,

Circling all the way around to that third eye.

And then compressing right down through all your chakras,

Down through your throat,

Down through your heart,

And right into your belly.

Now we're going to keep this breath,

This governing vessel up the back,

Yang energy,

And this yin energy conception vessel down the front.

But we're going to add some tongue movements.

We're going to change it just a little bit.

So you can stick with where you were,

Or are,

Or you can add this addition.

And as you send the breath up the back,

Your tongue goes up to the back of your teeth.

And you can imagine the energy traveling now to the top lip.

So up the low back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Third eye,

All the way down to that top lip.

And as you exhale,

The tongue goes down to the floor of the mouth and you go down through the throat,

Down through the heart,

And down through the belly.

So let's do it together.

Take a big breath in,

Bring your tongue up to the back of the teeth top,

And breathe up the belly,

Up the low back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Around the head,

Third eye,

Top lip,

Tongue up.

And then drop the tongue down the floor of the mouth as you visualize that conception energy down through the throat,

Down through the heart,

Belly in and up.

Insert it in that yin.

And then up the back as you fill the belly,

Tongue up,

Up the kidneys,

The heart,

All the way up through the crown of the head to the top lip.

Visualize it down the front as you drop the tongue down,

Down through the throat,

Down through the heart,

Right into the belly,

Yin,

In.

Yang up,

All the way up,

Tongue up,

All the way down,

All the way up,

All the way down.

Yang up,

All the way up,

Tongue up,

Yin,

In,

Tongue down.

Even breath,

Yang up,

Yin,

In,

Tongue down.

Yang up,

Yin,

In,

Tongue down.

Take five more on your own,

Visualizing the breath as you balance your energy.

Yang energy up the back,

The unknown,

Nurturing down the front.

See it in your mind.

Two more times.

Last one.

And just pause.

Feel the balance in yourself.

Feel yourself grounded,

Yet reaching up to the sky,

That energy of heaven and earth.

And then begin to just rub your hands together.

Feel that left side of the body,

Yin energy.

Right side of the body,

The yang energy.

Enjoy your hands right to your heart as you bow.

And set your intention for whatever it is that you want to find balance about in your life.

And use that mantra,

I am.

See what comes to you,

I am.

Whatever that is,

You breathe it into every cell.

And then you let go of the outcome,

Letting the universe work out the details.

Feel that balance inside and go out and share it.

Thank you so much for your practice.

Namaste.
