Hello there!
This is a guided visualization to support you healing from trauma and to find safety.
Take a moment to settle into your body and try and really notice that you're feeling supported and safe where you are right now.
Whether you are sitting or lying down,
Find a position that allows you to fully relax and just let go a little more.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and hold it for just a moment and then release it slowly through your mouth.
Let your body soften and settle into the support beneath you.
In this moment you are safe.
I know sometimes it's hard to feel like that.
You are here in this space and you are free to begin your healing process.
So begin by bringing your attention to your body.
Notice how it feels in the moment.
Are there any areas that feel tense,
Heavy or disconnected?
It's totally okay if there are.
We're going to gently work with them today.
Imagine now that you are surrounded by a safe calming light.
This light is protective and soothing and it surrounds you like a warm comfortable cocoon.
Feel it wrapping around you,
Embracing you with its warmth and its safety.
It is a safe space free from the triggers of your past.
As this light surrounds you,
Feel your body begin to relax into it.
Feel the sense of protection and comfort that this light provides.
It is always here,
A safe space that you can return to whenever you need to.
Now bring your attention to any areas of your body where trauma may have left its mark.
Could be a physical sensation,
Emotions.
And notice these areas of compassion and with curiosity.
We're not trying to change them.
We're only acknowledging them with kindness and that they are,
In fact,
There.
And as you focus on these areas,
Invite the soothing light to move into them.
Imagine this light gently washing over any pain or discomfort.
Healing and restoring.
Feel the light dissolve any tension,
Softening the tightness that those events may have caused.
With every breath,
Allow the light to heal these areas,
To bring comfort.
Notice now how your body feels as the light continues to surround you.
Feel the areas of tension loosening,
The discomfort dissolving.
You are reclaiming your sense of safety,
Your ability to heal and your power to move forward.
Know that you are in control of this whole process.
You are rebuilding your sense of safety piece by piece and moment by moment.
With each breath,
You're healing and you're moving closer to the peace and safety that you deserve.
So I invite you to take one deep final breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any remaining tension or discomfort.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment and open your eyes,
Knowing that you have created this space just by yourself.
