This meditation is designed to guide you on a journey to let go of past experiences, future worries, and fears. During this letting go meditation, you will be guided through a powerful visualization backed by psychology that will release any emotional baggage you have been carrying that is affecting the quality of your life. Some old experiences and emotions are so strong that it takes a while to let go and heal from them. I recommend listening to this meditation every day for a few days for maximum results.

Transcript

Letting go gives us freedom,

And freedom is the only condition for happiness.

If,

In our heart,

We still cling to anything,

Anger,

Anxiety,

Or possessions,

We cannot be free.

Today,

We are going to release what no longer serves you,

And create space for peace,

Clarity,

And freedom.

I invite you to find your most comfortable position,

Either sitting or laying down,

In a quiet and peaceful space.

Now gently close your eyes,

And take a mindful breath in,

Filling your lungs with the pure energy of the universe.

Exhale slowly,

Releasing any tightness in your body.

Continue taking mindful,

Soothing breaths in,

And slowly exhale.

Let your body relax with each breath.

Breathe in calmness,

And breathe out any heaviness.

As you continue to breathe,

Allow your thoughts to slow down.

Now,

Imagine your mind as a gentle river,

Flowing smoothly and peacefully.

Any thoughts that arise are like the leaves floating on the surface of the water,

Just passing by without holding your attention.

You are entering a state of calm,

Stillness,

And readiness to release.

Now,

I invite you to imagine yourself standing on the shore of a serene lake.

The water is calm,

Reflecting the soft colors of the sky above.

You feel the gentle breeze on your face,

And hear the soft lapping of the water against the shore.

Beside you is a small,

Simple boat,

Tied to a wooden dock.

This boat is your vessel of release.

It's here to carry away all the things you've been holding on to.

The fears,

The worries,

The experiences,

And the emotions that no longer serve you.

In front of you is a sturdy,

Open box.

Take a moment now to reflect on the things you're ready to let go of.

It could be a recent experience that's been weighing on your heart,

Or an old fear that keeps resurfacing.

Whatever it is,

It's time to let go.

Visualize placing each of these thoughts and experiences into the box,

One by one.

See yourself gently placing them inside.

Every unhelpful emotion,

Every doubt,

Every fear,

Every anxiety,

Place it in the box.

There is no rush.

You have all the time you need to release everything you've been holding on to.

Once the box is filled,

Feel the weight that's already being lifted from your shoulders.

Now,

Gently close the lid of the box.

You're ready to release it all.

Slowly,

You place the box in the boat.

Feel the weight that's already been lifted from your shoulders.

Slowly,

You place the box in the boat.

Watch as it settles there,

Safe and ready to be carried away.

Now,

Gently push the boat away from the dock,

And watch as it begins to drift out into the calm water.

As the boat moves farther and farther away from you,

Feel the release growing stronger within you.

With each passing second,

The boat takes with it the weight of everything you've let go.

The farther it sails,

The less impact these emotions and experiences have on you.

Watch the boat sail smoothly over the water,

Feeling lighter and more free as it moves farther into the distance.

Keep watching it drift farther and farther away,

Taking with it everything you no longer need.

Feel the sense of lightness and liberation fill your entire being.

Now,

As the boat moves so far away that it begins to disappear into the horizon,

Feel the final release.

The weight is completely gone.

The boat is no longer visible,

And with it,

Every worry,

Fear,

And heavy thought has vanished.

Now,

Take a mindful breath in,

And slowly exhale.

Feel the freedom within you,

The lightness that now fills the space where those heavy emotions once were.

You are free,

You are clear,

And you are open to new possibilities.

When you are ready,

Gently bring your awareness back to the present.

Invite some movement to your body,

Reconnecting with the space around you.

When it feels right,

Open your eyes.

Know that you have let go.

What was once weighing you down has sailed away.

You are free,

You are whole.
