Breath Awareness - Notice
by Sue Dawson
Noticing your breath. What can you feel? Not changing or controlling, just watching your breath enter and leave your body, what is your experience of your breath? Breath awareness helps us to stay in the present moment, allowing us to let the mental chatter dissolve and help us find some space and peace, and helping us notice and grow in our somatic and emotional intelligence music Christopher Lloyd Clarke

Welcome to your space,
Allow yourself to get comfortable and know that this is your time,
Your time to stop,
Your time to pause and let go of all the external pullings and distractions and start to focus on your breath.
Starting to observe your breath,
Noticing your inhalation,
Noticing the nostrils.
As the breath comes in,
Is there one nostril more dominant than the other?
Not looking to change anything,
Just observing.
How does the breath enter your body?
Is it the same on the left to the right nostril?
Notice where the breath moves through the body.
What do you feel?
What do you notice?
Allowing the breath to stay at its own rhythm,
Not controlling,
Its own rhythm and its own pace.
What is your experience of your breath?
Follow the in-breath to the very end,
Completing an inhalation.
Notice the transition from the inhalation to the exhalation.
Is there a gentle pause?
Is there a gentle transition to start to just pay attention to the exhalation?
Where does it start?
Where does it finish?
Again,
Observing with a curiosity,
Not with expectation,
Just watch and feel.
Are there any pauses at the end of your exhalation before you inhale?
Is there a smoothness?
Is there space?
No grasping for breath,
Just smooth,
Easy breath at your pace,
At your rhythm,
Just watching.
Observing the breath the same way as you would watch a beautiful sunset being totally present,
In awe,
In curiosity,
In deep appreciation.
Feel and observe.
If your mind starts to drift,
Just notice and gently guide it back to your breath.
Feel.
Observe.
May you always find peace and ease in your breath.
Namaste.
