For a moment and one moment only,

Now let it go and check in with your body.

Feel your feet on the floor,
Your body being supported by the chair you're on.
Feel your hands resting in your lap.
Breathe deeply and comfortably.
By inhaling oxygen into the bloodstream,
The body and mind automatically begin to relax without effort.
Your body is assisting you.
You can't do anything wrong.
Begin to deepen the in and out breath at your own pace comfortably without strain.
When thoughts or worry come up,
Simply notice them without judgment and gently let them go.
Come back to your breathing.
You are feeding your body a new way and mind with the source of life,
Your breath.
Notice the calm that begins to spread throughout your body,
Relaxing your mind.
Imagine you're in a place of nature that you love.
Imagine you're in a place of nature that you love.
Take in the beauty of this place.
Imagine the sounds you might hear,
The smells you might pick up on,
The touch of the wind or the earth beneath your feet.
Now quietly say to yourself,
I extend compassion to myself by acknowledging that these are difficult times and it's okay to feel overwhelmed or upset at times.
I allow myself to simply feel these feelings and let them come and go.
I extend compassion to myself by comforting my vulnerable inner parts that are anxious and afraid and in need of my love.

Extend comfort and love to your vulnerable inner parts as if you're comforting a child,
A beloved pet or a friend.
Notice how the feelings of anguish slowly pass.
Now take a long,
Deep breath and quietly say to yourself,
I am able to cope with whatever is coming my way.

I am reminding myself of my own resilience by remembering that I have been through difficult times before and I came out okay.
Remember your own lineage.
Remember your ancestors who have been through difficult times themselves.
You carry their DNA in you.
Now check in with your body.
See if anything has changed or moved.

Now imagine that one of the nature beings you are around is coming to your support.
Imagine that one of the nature beings you're around is extending comfort and support to you.
Could be a big tree,
A stone,
A brook or a waterfall.
And imagine that they extend soothing,
Calming energy.
All of life supports each other and we are supported too.
