Take these 10 minutes to connect with your body and release stress, anxiety, and any negative or heavy energy out of your system. Shaking is a very powerful somatic practice to help you let go of inner tension, soothe your nervous system, improve circulation, and bring yourself back to balance. It also encourages playfulness and joy, which helps us connect to our inner child and just have fun taking care of ourselves. Enjoy!

If you've been feeling stressed,

Anxious or just overwhelmed with everything that's going on,

This practice will be perfect for you to release that heavy energy,

Release tension,

Stiffness from your body,

Release anxiety from the mind and feel lighter,

Feel free and totally open.

So today we're going to do a very powerful nervous system soothing technique which is shaking.

We're going to shake the whole body,

Starting slowly and gently and then intensifying it a little bit.

It's a lovely somatic practice that will help you feel more connected to yourself.

So we are going to stand up.

This practice is best done standing up with your back straight and tall.

First,

Just roll your shoulders back a few times to create more space in your body.

Let's take three deep grounding breaths,

Connecting yourself with the earth.

Inhale fully as you expand and exhale as you relax and let go.

Inhale for longer,

Inviting fresh and peaceful energy.

And exhale,

Totally release and totally let go.

And one more time like this.

Take a longer breath in,

Open yourself up and exhale,

Totally release and let go.

Standing tall like a grounded tree,

Connected to the earth.

Imagine like earth is your base,

Is your foundation,

The foundation of peace and awareness.

Everything is changing,

The weather of your mind is changing,

Your emotions and thoughts change,

But your foundation,

The awareness,

Always stays the same.

Bring attention now to your head and slowly start shaking your head very gently a few times,

Just yes and no,

Up and down,

Side to side.

Moving your head in these different directions,

Just feeling your neck as well.

And then intensifying it a little bit,

Shaking your head like you want to release any rubbish that is in your mind.

You want to let go of any unnecessary negative thoughts,

Totally shake it off from your mind.

And release.

Lovely,

Now pay attention to your shoulders,

Lift your shoulders up to your ears and then down away from your ears.

First do it a few times like this,

Up and down.

And then again make it stronger,

Start shaking your shoulders,

Releasing any fear or anxiety about the future,

Releasing the worry,

The heaviness of the worry.

Keep shaking them up and down and now add your arms as well,

Shaking your arms,

Shaking your shoulders,

Feeling this power in your hands,

The power to actually create your life,

To create healthy changes.

Keep shaking for 3,

2,

1,

Release.

Ok,

Now we are moving to your hips.

First just do big circles with your hips to one direction,

You can keep your hands on your waist and just move them all around.

And then to the other side as well.

Feeling your hips,

The hips are connected to some past emotions,

To trauma,

During a lot of stress.

Now when you come back to the centre,

Just start shaking your hips,

However it feels good for you,

However feels comfortable,

Side to side,

Forward and back,

Just keep shaking your hips,

Shaking any energy that you don't wish to experience anymore.

And then moving lower,

Roll your knees a little bit,

So do circles,

Place your hands on your knees,

Bending your knees and just start doing circle in the same or each knee in the opposite direction,

However you feel more comfortable,

Just do some big circles with your knee joints.

And come back to centre,

Shake your right leg,

Shake it off,

Shake your left leg.

And now both legs together,

Shake both of your legs,

You can even jump,

You can move side to side,

Whatever feels good here,

Just shake your legs,

Feel the earth underneath you,

Let any stress,

Any negativity move down to the earth,

Melt away from you.

Keep shaking these legs,

You can jump,

You can dance,

Just keep shaking for 5,

4,

3,

2 and 1.

Totally release.

And now we're going to connect all these movements together and shake the whole body.

So start with your head,

Add your shoulders,

Your arms,

Your belly,

Your hips,

Your knees,

Your whole legs,

All the body is shaking now,

Shake it all.

You can close your eyes,

Doesn't matter how you look like,

Don't care at all how you look like here,

Just feel it,

Notice,

Focus more on the feelings,

On the sensations,

Keep shaking,

Shaking your body just a little bit longer,

Let yourself be totally free,

Nothing is limiting you here,

You are open,

You are free.

And totally release now,

Come back to centre.

Stand tall again with the arms alongside your body,

Close your eyes if you want to and just notice how you feel.

Let your breath calm down.

Let your heartbeat calm down.

Still connected to the earth through your feet,

Connected to your foundation,

To your base.

Realise how much weight has been lifted off your shoulders,

How much weight has melted away from your body.

Notice if you feel more space from within.

Bring your hands to heart,

Let's inhale,

Stretch the arms around and all the way up,

Surrounding yourself with love,

With peace.

Exhale,

Bring the hands back to your heart.

One more time like this,

Inhale,

Stretch your arms around,

Stretch all the way up to the sky.

And exhale,

Keep your hands together on your heart.

Thank yourself for this practice,

For taking the time to take care of yourself,

To soothe your nervous system and to connect with the space of peace within.
