Deep Rest Yoga Nidra: Balance Mind & Body
by Gemma Rogers
This Yoga Nidra practice is an invitation to slow down, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with a sense of balance in both mind and body. We begin gently with breath awareness and box breathing to help settle the nervous system, before moving into a slow, supportive body scan guided by imagery of warmth, grounding, and stability. Through sensing pairs of opposites, the practice encourages a felt sense of balance rather than effort or control. The practice closes with calming imagery that follows the natural arc of the day, from dawn through to night over a mountainscape, inviting a deep sense of harmony, ease, and quiet wholeness. Take some time for yourself here, rest, and let your body and mind settle. If you’d like a shorter, standalone practice focused purely on breath, you might also enjoy my Breath & Balance track, which focuses on gentle breathwork to steady the nervous system and encourage calm.
