Hello and welcome to this Yoga Nidra practice to recharge the nervous system.

You can think of this practice like charging a battery.

You need to plug in to allow the electric current to reboot the system.

Instead of electricity,

We'll plug into the energy of your own body and breath.

The calm awareness that lives inside you and inviting life force energy or prana with the breath,

Reviving the body in order to reboot and recharge.

So take the next few moments to allow yourself to settle into the most comfortable position you can find.

You might lie on your back,

Legs slightly apart,

Arms by your side.

You can also choose to have your hands resting lightly on the body,

Perhaps the belly or at the heart.

Wherever feels most comfortable for you.

You can cover the eyes,

Use pillows and blankets to support the body and let yourself move into recharge mode.

Take three deep breaths here at your own pace.

Slowing the breath down as much as comfortably possible.

Inhaling through the nose,

Drawing prana,

Life force energy,

Into the body.

And exhaling out through the nose or mouth.

Whatever allows you to fully let go,

Release tension or tiredness.

Inhaling deeply,

Fully and gently.

And exhaling,

Letting it all out.

And after your next round,

Release any control over the breath and allow it to find its natural rhythm.

You might like to bring in a simple sankalpa or intention here.

A short phrase that reflects what you wish to cultivate.

During this practice,

It could be something like,

I allow my nervous system to relax and recharge.

I am resting deeply.

Silently repeat your intention three times,

Allowing it to settle deep within you.

Moving awareness throughout the body now.

At each point,

You might imagine energy flowing like a current.

This might be a sensation or a spark of light or electricity,

Recharging each part of your system.

Starting at the palm of the right hand.

Imagine gentle pulses of energy,

Radiating from the centre of the palm out to all five fingertips.

Move your attention up through the wrist,

Elbow,

And shoulder.

Notice a gentle current at the right shoulder.

Move attention to the palm of the left hand.

Imagine gentle pulses of energy,

Radiating out to all five fingertips.

Move your attention up through the wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

And shoulder.

Notice a gentle current at the left shoulder.

Move awareness now to the sole of the right foot.

Imagine gentle pulses of energy,

Radiating out to all five toes.

Your attention moves up through the ankle.

Notice a gentle current of energy at the right hip.

Move awareness now to the sole of the left foot.

Imagine gentle pulses of energy,

Radiating out to all five toes.

Your attention moves up through the ankle.

Notice a gentle current of energy at the left hip.

Spread your attention now to the current soles of the right foot.

Imagine gentle pulses of energy at both shoulders and hips.

The four corners of the torso.

Can you allow each point of energy to start to move slowly in towards the center of the torso?

Awareness moving from the shoulders,

Spreading across the chest,

And down through the ribcage.

And awareness moving up from the hips,

Spreading across the pelvis,

And up through the belly.

Two currents of energy meet at the point just beneath the ribcage.

The solar plexus,

Merging together as one current of energy.

Notice this current move up now to the heart space,

The base of the throat,

The center of the forehead,

And the crown of the head.

Allow this current of energy to spread down through the whole body now.

The whole body glowing with gentle restorative energy.

The whole body alive with prana.

Bring your awareness back to the solar plexus,

The space just below your ribcage.

Bring your awareness to the natural rhythm of your breath,

At this point in the center of the body.

As you inhale,

Imagine a ball of energy or light expanding through your body,

Spreading from the center,

Filling the chest,

The back,

The legs,

The arms,

As you exhale,

Allow that energy to softly gather back in again,

Settling and integrating.

Inhale,

Expanding,

Recharging.

Exhale,

Contracting,

Calming.

As you breathe gently,

Imagine the nervous system as a delicate network of circuits.

Each nerve,

Each cell,

Receiving a gentle current of calm energy.

The whole body,

As a symphony of cells,

Lights,

And energy.

All in perfect harmony with each other.

Harmony.

The whole body as one energetic,

Vibrant system.

Gentle vitality running through every part of you.

Allow this feeling to expand beyond the body now.

As if your calm energy radiates outward into the space around you.

Life force energy moving through you and all around you,

Connecting you to all that is.

Bring your awareness back into the body now.

Every part of you recharged.

Circuits cleared.

Tension released.

Balance restored.

Bring awareness to the breath.

Take a deep revitalizing breath here.

And start to bring your awareness to the sensations in the body and the contact points between the skin and the clothes.

The support beneath you.

And start to get a sense of the room around you once again.

And start to bring your awareness back into the body now.

Wiggle fingers and toes to awaken the body as you begin to gently open the eyes.

And can you tune into the sense of the body as a fully charged battery?

I hope you feel recharged and restored and I wish you well in your day ahead.
