Hello and welcome.
My name is Gemma.
This is a short yoga nidra practice for moments where you may feel dysregulated in some way.
Designed to restore a sense of inner peace and bring calm to your nervous system.
Find a comfortable position now.
Lying on your back and seated with support.
Let your hands rest gently by your side.
Close your eyes if that is comfortable or you might just soften your gaze and begin to settle in.
There is nothing for you to do right now except listen to my voice and simply allow yourself to be here.
Present and supported.
Bring attention to your face.
Notice any areas of tightness and inviting softness at the centre of the forehead,
Between the eyebrows,
Around the pockets,
Temples,
Cheeks.
Let the shoulders drop and both arms and both legs to be heavy.
Sense the whole body now.
Letting go of any tension.
Bring gentle awareness to the breath.
No need to change it.
Just notice his natural rhythm.
A gentle expansion.
Warm golden light surrounding you.
This supportive light gently holds you.
Infusing every part of your body with a sense of peace.
With each breath the light moves deeper,
Releasing tension in your belly and flow out to your arms.
Notice this golden light filling every cell,
Every atom of the body.
Connecting every part of you to this golden light is a gentle reminder that peace is always available within you and know that you can return to this warm light.
Bring awareness back to the room around you now and release on the exhale through the mouth.
Begin to bring gentle movement back to your fingers and toes.
You might roll your shoulders or take a stretch.
Just pausing here and sensing into how you feel right now.
And when you feel ready you can open your eyes.
My name is Gemma.
Thank you for taking this time to practice with me and I hope you carry this sense of peace with you as you continue your day.
