There comes a point in the day when your body has been caring enough,
Conversations,
A thinking,
The moving from one thing to the next,
Even the quiet pressure to get it all done.
And maybe you've made it here,
But something within you is still going on,
Still holding,
Still bracing,
Still trying to keep up.
This is a moment to step out of that by allowing yourself to arrive.
So find a comfortable position wherever you are.
Feel the surface beneath you,
The points of contact your body makes with that surface,
Allowing your shoulders to drop,
Softening your jaw,
And relaxing the space around your eyes.
In this moment,
You do not need to hold the day anymore.
Let's draw our attention to the breath,
The inhale arriving on its own,
And the exhale leaving without effort.
Allow your breath to be natural,
Unforced.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing a small layer of your day.
Not all at once,
Just a little at a time.
The tension,
The mental noise,
The sense of needing to get it all done.
Notice where the day is still sitting within your body.
Maybe it's the tightness in your shoulders,
The heaviness on your chest,
Or the pit in your stomach.
Bring a gentle awareness there.
Offer this area support.
Envision yourself holding the space with your hands,
Not tightly,
Just loosely.
And as you notice it,
Offer the space support.
I am here.
I see you.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Perhaps as you notice it and breathe into it,
Imagine these areas start to soften.
Not to force them to relax,
But to give them permission.
To loosen the grip after holding something for far too long.
In this moment,
There is nothing left to complete.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Allow that to land in your body.
The day can be unfinished.
Things can wait.
You are allowed to step out of doing and soften.
Let yourself rest here for a few breaths.
Just being.
Just breathing.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Gently return to your breath.
Return to your body.
Return to this moment of doing less.
And as we close our practice,
I'll invite you to take a slightly deeper inhale through the nose.
And a slow,
Steady exhale through your mouth.
Slowly coming back into your body.
Back into the space around you.
When you're ready,
Gently blink your eyes open.
As you move forward into the rest of your evening,
See if you can carry this with you.
Not needing to hold anything so tightly.
And not needing to finish the day perfectly.
Just allow yourself to be here.
In the now.
At ease.
