Life doesn't always pause when we need it to.
We often move from one thing to the next and somewhere along the way,
Things begin to accumulate quietly inside of us,
Simply because life keeps moving,
Even when parts of us need a moment to stay.
So this time is yours.
We're simply going to slow down long enough to notice what's already here and offer it a little room to breathe.
So get comfortable in whatever way that looks like for you today,
Allowing your body to settle and gently close your eyes and take a slow breath in through your nose.
And let it go through your mouth.
Once again,
Breathing in.
And as you breathe out,
Allow your body to settle even more.
As you return to the natural rhythm of your breath,
I invite you to notice the weight of your body.
Notice how it's being supported by the surface beneath you.
Allow that support to hold you.
I'd like to invite you to simply turn your attention inward,
Not towards your thoughts,
But towards your body.
To what is actually here,
Right now,
Beneath the surface.
Let's begin to notice any sensations starting at the top of your head,
Moving into your face,
In your jaw,
Is there anything holding on here?
Any tightness you haven't noticed?
Let's slowly move our awareness towards our neck and shoulders.
These are places we often carry what we haven't yet set down.
Just notice,
Without needing to change anything.
Become aware of your chest,
Your belly.
As your breath naturally rises and falls here.
And as it does,
Notice,
Is there heaviness,
Constriction,
Maybe a quiet ache?
Whatever is here,
Just allow it to be seen.
Drawing awareness down into your back,
Your hips,
Maybe even your hands and legs.
Stress,
Grief and worry,
They don't always stay where we expect them.
Allow your awareness to move through you gently,
Like a soft light.
There's no right place to find these sensations.
You might notice one area or many.
Maybe there's nothing at all.
All of that is welcome.
If you notice a place within your body that feels a little extra tight or heavy or tender.
Gently draw your awareness there.
Not to fix it,
Just to be with it.
On your next breath in,
Imagine you are breathing a little warmth into that space.
Not to force it open,
But just to soften the edges around it.
Letting it know it has been noticed.
Tension,
Heaviness and stress.
These are all signs that you are human.
You have been trying.
Something has mattered to you.
And as you breathe out,
You don't need to release these feelings.
Just give them a little space to exist.
You are not pushing them away.
You are not holding them tighter.
You are simply allowing them to be here alongside you.
You are not your tension.
And you are not your heaviness.
You are the one here holding them gently.
And that is enough.
As we pause here for a few moments,
I'll invite you to hold space for these emotions.
To give them room to breathe and allow them to pass through you.
At any point,
If this becomes too much,
Simply return to the sensation of you breathing.
I'll invite you to gently return to the sensation of your body being held.
Notice the surface beneath you.
The air moving through your lungs.
Begin to notice the room around you.
The air on your skin.
As you allow yourself to slowly come back.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
You showed up for yourself today.
And that is not a small act.
The body holds so much we don't yet have words for.
It might be the tightness in your chest.
The weight in your shoulders.
Or the ache you've been carrying without knowing quite where it lives.
These are all quiet records of everything you've been moving through.
So this is your reminder,
You don't have to resolve any of it today.
You just have to be willing to notice.
And you did that.
Please be gentle with yourself as you move back into your day.
You deserve that gentleness.
Not because everything is okay,
But because you are trying and that matters more than you know.
Thank you.
