Most of the time we move through life on autopilot,
Thinking,
Planning,
Reacting.
Rarely pausing long enough to notice that life is happening far beyond what we are aware of.
There's an entire layer of experience,
Sensations,
Rhythms,
And subtle shifts that we often move right past.
This is an opportunity to tap back into that,
Not by adding anything,
But by noticing what's already here.
And the breath is one of the simplest ways to notice.
So wherever you are,
Just as you are,
I invite you to land without adjusting too much,
Allow yourself to arrive,
And notice you are already breathing.
Allow your attention to rest on the breath,
Your inhale and your exhale.
Notice where you feel it most clearly,
Perhaps at the nose,
A light touch of air as it enters and leaves,
Maybe within the chest,
A quiet rising and falling,
Or within the belly,
A soft expansion and release.
Just notice where it's most prominent for you,
And stay with that sensation for a few moments,
Feeling each inhale and each exhale.
And if your mind has started to wander,
Just gently notice and bring your attention back to your breath.
Now begin to follow the breath a little deeper,
From the moment it enters through the nose,
Moving into the chest,
Filling the lungs,
Reaching the belly,
And then releasing,
Flowing back up through the body and out the nose.
Continue to follow this full path again and again.
Notice how effortless it is to breathe,
Without trying to change it.
Just witness its flow.
Even if your thoughts are busy,
Even if life feels uncertain,
This rhythm continues,
Quietly supporting you,
Moment by moment.
This awareness is always available to you,
You just have to remember to return to it.
Let's rest here for a few more breaths,
Just witnessing the rhythm,
And as we close,
Just remember that you can return to this steadiness at any point,
Throughout your day,
In the middle of conversation,
Through uncertainty.
This awareness is not to escape your life,
It's to experience it more fully.
So take a slightly deeper breath in,
And a slow exhale out,
And gently come back to the space around you,
And move forward with a little more awareness than you had before.
