Greetings,
Friends.
And welcome to this very special meditation journey that will take us to ancient Greece to seek joy and inspiration with the Muses.
So before we begin,
Take your time.
Allow yourself to find a restful place that is warm and comfortable.
Make sure that you are warm and easeful in your restful place.
Allow the eyes to gently close and we'll begin to bring our awareness to our breath.
Let each rise and fall of the breath be easeful and calm,
Unhurried.
As we draw our attention inwards to body and breath,
We let everything outside of this space of our body fall away.
Let the worries and cares of the world drift away just for a few minutes.
Allow the body to soften as you allow the surface beneath you to support you.
It is safe to let go.
As we relax into this place,
In our mind's eye,
We begin to take a journey.
We find ourselves walking on great rocks up to a beautiful Greek temple we can see before us.
The temple is made of marble and shines in the sunlight.
Great columns rise up to support the roof and structure and let sun beams shine,
Casting light between them.
But before you reach this pinnacle,
This peak,
Upon our rocks on which we walk,
We see before us a beautiful waterfall.
They say it was the hooves of Pegasus,
The winged horse,
Crashing against the rocks that caused this beautiful waterfall.
Perhaps you feel the gentle spray of the water upon your face.
In order to continue our journey,
We will walk underneath the cascading water,
Sheltered by overhanging rocks.
Perhaps we pause just for a moment to see the light sparkle and shine through the water,
Feeling a sense that we are crossing over,
Moving over a threshold into a very special place.
As we leave this space from the waterfall,
We see at once this beautiful building so close now.
We take a few final steps to bring us up level to the columns and the beautiful marble structure.
There are carvings and sculptures that symbolise the mythology of this place.
The god and goddess Zeus and Nemecene,
The titan goddess of memory.
Their union created nine goddesses of arts,
Literature and science.
It's said that their voices and their dancing helped relieve the sorrows of past traumas and helped people heal.
The muses inspire creation.
But here in this place,
In front of this temple,
You feel simply joy and gratitude to see this beautiful place.
As we take our first steps onto smooth marble,
We hear in the distance within a little twinkle of music,
A little sparkle of laughter.
You have a sense of a beautiful positive energy around this place.
As you walk through great courtyards cast in sunlight,
You draw forward,
Inwards,
And come to a beautiful hall covered in mosaic tiles and lined with beautiful marble benches strewn with silk and velvet cushions and blankets.
On low tables,
Great bowls of figs and honey and purple grapes shine.
Golden platters of flaky pastry and bowls of olives.
There are smiling faces of people around you,
Pouring wine and grape juice from beautiful amphora.
There is the sound of a harp playing in the background as a gentle bubble of laughter and conversation fills the room with its own music.
A woman close to you sees that you have arrived and smiles broadly.
She takes your hand and draws you inwards to the centre of the space.
You make your way to a particularly beautiful looking marble bench with cushions and throws and as you sit she brings you a drink that just happens to be your favourite.
And although she does not say in words to ask why you are here,
You have a sense that she understands.
Perhaps your inner spark is not as bright as it has been.
Maybe you are finding it challenging to find new ideas or inspiration.
Maybe your dreams and goals do not shine as brightly in your mind as you would wish.
Perhaps you feel that you have simply lost your way.
This woman holds your hands.
Even though no words have passed between you,
She squeezes your hands and smiles as if to say,
I understand.
And she smiles a little broader as if to suggest,
There is no need to worry.
You are in the right place.
And as if called by some distant bell,
Nine beautiful women enter the room.
They are so beautiful and so joyful they seem to bring an extra light and extra sun into the room with them.
And they are welcomed warmly with smiles and raised glasses.
And they smile back to the room but they are not here for them.
They are here for you.
These nine beautiful women,
These goddesses make their way to you and sit around upon the floor around you.
Calliope sits with her pen and tablet.
She encourages you to write down any ideas,
Any thoughts you wish to share.
Many of these thoughts may be part of your history and this is the realm of Cleo.
She reminds you to connect to all you have learned,
All you have experienced through your life.
These are the seeds from which we draw our inspiration and strength moving forward.
Erato and Uturpi are the goddesses of song and poetry.
They speak to you of love.
If we do all things with love and love in our heart,
Sparks can be found.
In even moments of sorrow,
As Melpinini tells us,
Tragedy and drama make us who we are.
So do not fear to draw upon them.
Next is beautiful polyhymnia,
Talia and Tupse-Cori.
The goddesses of comedy,
Dance and song.
And they rise and they dance around you laughing and singing.
They remind you to find the joy,
The laughter in finding your journey,
Whatever step you may be on,
Whether it be the first or the last.
The women laugh and smile around you as these three goddesses tire themselves and settle once more,
Taking a sip of the wine around them.
And to calm the laughter,
The lovely Urania,
Protector of celestial objects and stars,
Invites you all to look skywards.
And all nine muses,
And you,
Look up.
Above us,
The great expanse of sky and somewhere beyond the stars,
The moon,
The sun.
There is so much beauty and wonder in this world.
The muses remind us that there is always inspiration to be found,
Even on days where it appears hidden.
Each of the nine muses,
These goddesses are here to remind you of your own inner sparks,
Your own inner love,
That will eventually lead you on the journey in the path you seek.
You will once again uncover your power and your spark.
And there is always time to enjoy the journey.
Around these women you feel comforted and calmed and full of joy.
And as we take a quiet moment in this space,
You may find a message or a meaning arises in your mind from the goddesses.
Perhaps not.
Perhaps what you need right now is quiet and peace.
Allow yourself to take a quiet moment,
Accepting whatever arises.
This intellect,

And though it is now time for you to leave this beautiful temple,
This beautiful place,
Know that you can return any time you wish.
The Muses are always here for you.
So in our minds eye as we rise from our restful place within the temple rooms,
Hugging each of the Muses,
The women,
The Goddesses around us.
They send us love and joy and reassurance that spark and strength are within us always.
Sometimes we simply need time.
Time to rest and time to recover.
Time to remember what we once knew and will know again.
As we leave the temple rooms and once again feel the sunlight on our face,
Once again we reach the threshold of the waterfall,
Stepping back into the world.
And as we return to our bodies,
Perhaps we take a deep breath,
Perhaps we wiggle fingers and toes.
Maybe reach your hands up to the sky reaching tall and then bring your hands upon your heart and breathe.
The magic,
The Muses of inspiration are always here.
We just need to give ourselves time.
So as we gently open our eyes and return to the world,
I thank you my darlings for joining me today.
I wish you a beautiful day,
A beautiful evening and a time full of inspiration and joy or a little hope that you will once again recover inspiration and joy.
Our journeys are all different.
We will make it in our own time.
Thank you my darlings.
