Hello.
In this meditation today,
We'll be doing something to help us feel safe.
Now,
Everybody loves to feel safe.
If you don't feel safe,
Well then,
There's not much else more you can do,
Isn't there?
You're not going to sit and eat your lunch if you don't feel safe.
You're not going to be able to go to sleep at night if you don't feel safe.
And most importantly,
You're not going to feel like you're going to be able to show people how much you love them if you don't feel safe.
Have you ever met a group of strangers and then you'll go a little bit quiet,
A little bit shy,
And you're just kind of working out what's going on?
Who's this person?
Now,
That feeling,
You know,
When maybe your hands go in your mouth or your stomach gets a bit tight or you kind of look down at your feet,
That's what we all get.
Grown-ups get it too.
But sometimes it can be a really,
Really,
Really big feeling.
And sometimes not feeling safe comes in for good reason.
If we've heard shouting or arguing,
Sometimes we go away.
We get out of that place because we know it doesn't make us feel very good when we stay there.
When that happens,
Sometimes we just need to go away and let some of those feelings out of our bodies.
And this meditation is just for that.
So,
However you're sitting or lying down,
Just sort of give your body a little wriggle and just close your eyes gently when you're ready,
Taking a big breath in,
Blowing that breath all the way out.
And again,
Breathing all the way in and all the way out.
And then just breathing in,
Breathing out.
Not really thinking about it.
And just letting it do itself.
And just bringing yourself into your body,
Feeling your breath,
How it feels when you breathe in and how it feels when you breathe out.
And when you feel nice and comfortable,
Just imagine that you're breathing in a colour.
Any colour,
The first one that comes to mind,
It's always the best for you.
Breathe that colour in,
Like you're breathing in through your chest and down into your stomach.
Feeling that colour come in through your breath,
Making your body feel all nice inside.
And then when you breathe out,
It's almost like breathing out a thick black smoke,
A bit like a dragon.
So you're breathing in that colour,
Breathing out a thick black smoke,
All those feelings out from your stomach.
Breathing in that colour,
Breathing out that thick black smoke.
And just feel how good that feels to breathe that colour in and feel light and okay in your stomach.
And imagine that any feelings of fear or not being safe,
You're just blowing them out.
Breathing that colour in,
Breathing that thick black smoke out.
And feeling your head feel good,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Feeling your chest,
Your stomach,
Your legs,
Your knees,
Right down to the tips of your toes.
Like you're breathing in with every part of your body.
Breathing out and letting go.
And just for a little while,
Just sitting there on your own.
Just feeling into your body just how good and relaxed it feels.
Like you're shining out a light from your body that's going bing.
Feeling your skin how it feels,
Like spongy.
Feeling maybe your ears and what you're hearing.
Feeling your eyes and your face.
Breathing in,
Breathing out and just opening your eyes whenever you're ready.
Looking at the world around you and how it looks.
Just sitting there and kind of still feeling all those feelings.
Now the great thing with the colour breath,
Breathing in the colour,
The colour will change and that's absolutely great because you'll need another colour at a different time.
And breathing out the thick black smoke,
The great thing about it is that you can do it anytime,
Anywhere,
Even with your eyes open,
Even without grown up snowing,
Which is fantastic,
Right?
So give it a practice and especially if you need to do it at night time before you go to sleep,
Just lie on your back,
Put one hand on your chest,
One hand on your stomach and just breathe in the colour and breathe out that thick black smoke and just let all of those feelings just leave your body and feel your shoulders right now,
How they feel light.
That's what it's all about.
Okay,
Take care and I'll see you again soon.
Bye for now.
