Anxiety Relief 2
The relief from anxiety in this meditation comes from gently allowing yourself to feel welcome. Welcome in your own feeling and experience just long enough, so that we can truly turn the tide away from worst-case scenarios. It's easier than you might think, and even if it's a long time since you felt free in your own bones - this meditation will give you the space to relax enough that your monkey mind will be simply speechless.

Hello and welcome.
This meditation is designed to help you take that relief from anxiety a little deeper,
In fact a lot deeper.
After having done the first anxiety relief meditation,
This will deepen those positive habits,
Those positive patterns and help realign ourselves into calm,
Into presence and really into acceptance.
You've learned and touched upon that you can feel well,
That you can feel calm and that you don't have to identify with those feelings of anxiety,
Those symptoms,
The tight chestedness,
The clammy hands,
The high heart rate,
The mind fog,
The panic and the indecision.
In this meditation we'll be returning and remembering the power,
The opportunity and the grace of our own choice,
What we wish to align with,
What we wish to experience.
In my own life I always felt the weight of having to be perfect,
Of having to be sorted and complete.
When I realized it's more a question of what we wish to experience,
It really helped settle my mind,
It really helped settle my body and more than that as that journey continued and grew within me,
It became a welcome about what I wanted to create,
What life I wanted to live and what experiences,
What pleasure I wish to welcome into my life.
When my anxiety was so powerful,
So consuming,
Well there really wasn't any room to plan for such things,
Everything was so immediate,
The danger,
The fear was always there and I was living day to day.
There's a difference from living day to day in that kind of caged bird feeling that we feel when we're really anxious and it flares up so violently in our lives,
That we might not want to leave the house or we might not even want a hug,
To being in the moment again and not just being in the moment but seeing the connection between moments,
How am I going to get from A to B,
How am I going to make my dreams a reality?
So if you're sitting comfortably,
Let's begin.
Breathing in.
Breathing out into your whole body.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Giving yourself credit here of how this is now easier to do,
Of how your practice and commitment is fostering and developing that trust within yourself.
Breathe in a bit more confidently.
Breathe out a bit more softly and with the breath,
Let it lead itself.
Start to allow that pleasurable feeling and experience of the breath to return.
Draw that breath deep down into your stomach.
Let it go as freely as you drew it in.
Draw that breath as deeply down as you possibly can.
Feeling it fill into your side,
Into your front and into your back.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Just imagining that you're sinking down,
Sinking down,
Sinking down.
Bringing your focus to the area around your belly button.
This is your kind of gut brain,
All the nerve cells that help all of the organs talk to one another.
Breathe into this place.
And breathe out.
Start to become aware of your kidneys in your lower back.
Breathe into them and breathe out.
Just allowing them to get what they need and to really reset that adrenaline.
Like each kidneys wearing a little hat,
This is where your adrenaline's made.
Just breathing into that place.
Breathing out again.
And you might feel that as warmth.
Don't fight that warmth,
Allow it to course through you.
We're going deeper and deeper and deeper into that mind,
That body mind that stores the history and memory of our habits.
And all of our chemical and hormonal processes,
Just breathe in.
We're not trying to fix.
So just gently witness yourself here,
Because everything will work itself out,
Okay?
It really will.
Just trust your body's intelligence here.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
And feel how that lightness comes in your chest and allow yourself to really fill your chest right up to your collarbone as you breathe in deeply.
Let go fully.
Breathing in deeply like you're fanning flames right up into your chest from down below.
Letting go,
Sounding even if you need to.
Breathing in deeply again,
Really opening up.
And again,
Breathing in,
Trusting your body.
Now just for a couple of moments here,
A couple of minutes on your own,
Letting your breath find its own natural rhythm again.
Just let that calm kind of move through you.
Step back as you've trusted yourself to do so.
Deepen that surrender and just breathe in,
Breathe out.
And experience what that feels like for you.
Still breathing in and breathing out.
Letting that calm roll like a strong but slow,
Deep,
Powerful wave within you and around you.
Now to give you a bit more food for thought and how powerful this process is,
On a subconscious level you're just deepening that trust that you do have a choice about what you experience,
That you do have a deep connection to your body,
Its responses and how you react to stress and your own monkey mind.
And it's getting deeper and deeper now as you're practicing.
I really welcome you not to see this part too as a cure-all,
But the next building block to deepen in your own relationship and almost befriending your anxiety.
Start to see it as a great teacher of how it can highlight to you when you've had an adverse reaction.
Taking this first step or second step in this case,
The first being that you can actually feel okay within your own body,
This part is about giving you more control,
More realization of that choice.
So practice it perhaps once a day for a week or the next couple of weeks.
Connect to that deeper breathing,
Connect to the pleasure of the breath,
Connect to that oasis that can be found in the breath where there's no need to think about anything else.
There's no need to plan or plot our way out of something.
All we need to do is breathe and be.
Dealing with that worry,
That immediate panic,
That feeling of being caged in your own body and your own mind,
We can deal with that,
You can deal with that.
And that's gonna allow us to get to the deeper roots.
Let me put it to you like this,
Perhaps there's something in your life that you want,
A desire waiting to be fulfilled.
What we're doing here,
Taking out some of that noise,
Some of that panic,
Some of that fear,
So that we might get a bit deeper to the depths of what we actually want,
Closer to that hidden gem,
That truth and that desire,
That joy within us.
You're doing well,
Take it from me,
It's a brave journey and take it from me also.
Your life may not be the same again.
I've left a couple of minutes here at the end,
Just for you to breathe on your own,
So you don't rush into the next part of your day.
Take this time,
Listen to the music and let it fill you.
Don't feel the need to meditate for any purpose,
Just use it as time,
Just to be,
Just to practice what we've talked about,
Just to experience being you,
Making friends with yourself,
Breathing in and as always letting go when you breathe out.
I hope to see you again,
Bye for now and remember,
You've got this.
Take care.

I did the first anxiety meditation which really helped me. 🙏 thank you so much. This second one for anxiety helped me even more as I felt like the teacher was with me and he made me feel that I can take control of my anxiety which I have never been able to do. I suffer with PTSD after a trauma when I was 15 and found my father dying in the garden. It has haunted me ever since and I am now in my 60s so to find a meditation like this is amazing and I am also going to try the 3rd one to this. Thank you Oliver..

I’ve done your first anxiety meditation for 45 days and it’s changed my life. I go for long periods in a day without feeling anxious. This is my first time for session 2. I have recommended the first to six people so far. Thank you for sharing your life and learning and caring.

Thankyou, Oliver! Already feeling calmer and a bit more capable of handling it all. Impressed with this single meditation, I am going to find and take one of your courses. Your background tones and birds are very soothing and easy to absorb into this experience.

This was the very best guided meditation I experienced in regards to dealing with anxiety and the racing monkey mind. It is à very différent approach that allows time to gently let the parasympathetic nervous system install calm and welness within the body. Making this meditation a daily practice, May certainly be of great help, IMO, to People dealingbeith PTSD. Thank you for this wonderful sharing of a great tool. 🙏🌹

Absolutely what I need. Just the breath and your very real suggestions as we breath along. Wondering—what is the sound in background? I have always professed to not like the bowls, but this is very soothing.

A revelation for me. I want to experience, emptying the dishwasher, shovelling the snow, washing the clothes, picking up the toys, making dinner, taking out the trash. :). Refresh every action by pouring myself into the experience. Love the mindfulness and awareness. Should lift me up. Best regards to an angel.
