This is a practice as either a short stand-alone calming meditation or as preparation for a longer meditation. A sitting, breathing session to poetry. The poem is called 'Now'. A nice start to the morning, or a nice calming breath before bed.

Transcript

Today's short meditation is a simple sitting and breathing whilst listening to a poem.

The poem is called Now.

Get yourself in a comfortable position,

Back straight but not rigid,

Feet on the floor.

Allow your palms to open and lay them on your lap.

Gently close your eyes.

Allow the breath to become smooth and soft.

Don't try to lengthen it or force it into anything other than just a smooth rhythm.

Allow the body to become still.

Allow the mind to become quiet.

And know that for the next few moments you have nowhere to go and nothing to do.

Be here with me,

Breathing.

Be here with you,

Breathing.

Be still and listen to your heart.

Be still and listen to your breath.

Be quiet and listen.

Be quiet and listen.

Pause for a moment and sit.

Settle here and rest.

Be unstirring.

Be undisturbed.

Be here at peace,

With me,

With you.

In this moment.

Now.

Thank you.
