Firstly,
I want you to think of a colour that your subconscious mind thinks will help you to sleep.
What colour is that?
Maybe close your eyes if this feels okay for you.
Do you see any colour behind your closed eyes?
What is the colour?
The colour that will help you sleep.
I want you to imagine a ball of coloured light.
Your colour.
We will be taking a journey around the body and as I say,
A part of your body,
I want you to take your attention briefly to that part and imagine the ball of coloured light moves with you.
It comes with your attention to each part of your body that I name.
We will begin at the crown of the head.
See the coloured light at the crown of your head.
Take a couple of deep,
Slow breaths here,
Inhaling through the crown of the head and exhaling into the stomach.
And so we will begin our journey.
Moving down from the crown of the head to the forehead.
The cheeks.
The mouth.
Jaws.
Back of the skull.
Back of the neck.
The throat.
And notice that your whole head and face is filled with the coloured light.
Notice that your whole head and face is filled with your breath and with space.
Notice that it is heavy and relaxed.
Moving down to the right shoulder.
The top of the right arm.
Bottom of the right arm.
Wrist.
Top of the right hand.
Palm.
Thumb.
Second finger.
Third.
Fourth.
And little finger.
The whole right arm,
Bottom to top.
The whole right arm,
Top to bottom.
Notice the whole right arm is filled with the coloured light.

The arm is heavy and relaxed.

The coloured light fills your whole body.
And with each inhale the colour fills every cell and fibre in your body.
And with each exhale your body becomes more heavy and more relaxed.
With each breath your body becomes more and more heavy and relaxed.
With each breath your body becomes ten times more relaxed.
Until you feel as if it is not possible to become any more relaxed.
Your body is now so relaxed and your mind so content.
You are very happy to drift off to sleep now.
