Hello,

This is Carolyn Coldridge and this is a meditation on trees.

To get started,

I want you to sit with your feet flat on the floor,

Your back as straight as possible,

Go to a quiet place and turn off all your electronic devices.

I want you to take a huge deep breath in and out.

Take another deep breath in and out.

And a third deep breath in and release.

So as we meditate with the trees,

We're going to imagine ourselves in our mind's eye that we're walking in a beautiful forest,

Just walking on a path,

Walking down this beautiful path where there's trees on our right and trees on our left.

These beautiful trees are there to represent us standing strong,

Growing,

And finding new opportunities as the branches grow and move and go to different directions.

So as you walk step by step,

Imagine you can hear your feet walking on the ground,

Touching branches,

Feeling rocks,

And crackling other little branches underneath your feet.

Keep aware of your breath and how your breath resonates with the beautiful air that's in this forest.

At the top of the trees,

You're going to see the Sun.

The beautiful warm Sun is beaming down on you,

Sending you beautiful energy,

Healing,

Strength,

And courage.

As the Sun inspires and helps the trees grow,

The Sun will help you to grow also.

So as you move down this beautiful path,

Imagine there's no one around.

To the right,

There's beautiful trees,

And to the left,

There's these tall trees.

You can actually imagine reaching out to one of them and feeling their strong bark,

The strong power and wisdom that the trees have.

It helps you remind you that you have strength within yourself,

You have power within yourself,

That you can grow strong.

So keep walking down this beautiful forest,

Step by step,

And imagine that as you look up at the trees as you're walking,

You might have a leaf that falls down and falls down beside you,

Or may hit the top of your head.

These leaves represent our thoughts falling down by the wayside,

Falling away as we keep on our path,

As we keep on our focus.

Thoughts always may come by us,

But they don't have any relevance to us if they're not part of our focus goal to be at peace and to be walking on our journey.

A leaf also falling down can be connected to intuition,

Intuition that helps us to grow and learn.

So imagine a leaf falls down,

And that's like a thought or an idea or a spark or a being that lights up our awareness and helps us to think of these random thoughts as more meaningful.

So then whenever we see a leaf fall,

We'll realize we might get regular pings,

Regular ideas,

Regular inspiration on our path.

And take a breath in and out.

Another breath in and out.

And keep walking along your path.

Keep walking step by step,

And as you look to the trees to the left side,

They may be swaying with the wind.

They may be bending close to you as a branch falls down on your path.

The trees on the left,

Our left sides,

Always represents our intuitive side.

So the trees on the left help us to give an idea as to information or knowledge that may be laying dormant.

The trees on our right represent our strength and our ability to move forward.

In the forest you feel a sense of peace and love.

You might hear birds and you might hear the rustling of a rabbit in the woods.

You might hear another animal barking or purring and different natural nature sounds,

Including the wind and the rustling of leaves.

The forest is very sacred.

The forest helps us to heal.

Just imagining ourselves walking in the forest helps release endorphins and serotonin.

Imagine that we're walking in the forest helps lower anxiety and depression.

So keep walking along the forest and just be aware of the beautiful surroundings in nature.

As you take another breath in and out.

And as you keep walking by the trees through the forest,

You're gonna see a big large tree down a little ways on your path.

And you decide that I want to sit by this tree.

And I want to feel that strength of what a tree feels like as it stands rooted into the earth.

So go towards this large tree and down by the bottom of its roots it has this nice little root that you can sit upon.

You can make your back really strong against the back of the trunk of the tree.

And as you sit there all the anxiety that you've been holding or depression starts to be absorbed by this tree as the power of wood.

And you feel a sense of security.

It's almost like the tree is hugging you and giving you a sense of a wilderness support.

And I want you to take a breath in and out.

So the tree has these really deep roots.

Deep roots are what we want in life to feel really connected deep deep inside our hearts our minds our souls.

We want to be connected to the earth to know why we're really here.

So as we imagine these roots way down into the earth imagine that you are going to sprout roots from the back of your buttocks and the spine down into the earth.

It could be the image of a golden light coming from your heart down through your body your torso and down into the earth.

And imagine these roots go down 10 feet 20 feet 30 feet 40 feet and let them connect deep into the earth.

It helps you feel very very grounded and very much in the moment.

Very much mindful of your surroundings connected to the earth and supported by the earth at the same time.

And the leaves and the branches going straight up into the beautiful blue sky towards the Sun represents your ability to grow to learn to lead to forgive and to move forward in life.

You become one with the tree as you take a breath in and out.

Let the tree support you inspire you.

Anything that's negative and heavy that you've been carrying upon imagine just like the tree those those thoughts and those feelings remove themselves from your mind and they float down through your eyes your nose your mouth through your throat down your heart your stomach your torso into the earth.

So anything that doesn't serve you is going to go into the earth.

And at the same time you're being charged up by this beautiful tree.

You're immersing and connecting with the power of the bark which is a protection like your skin over over the bark and over your skin over yourself.

So as you emerge into the tree you're getting a sense of strength power and the ability to move on in life if it's hard.

Good.

I want you to take a breath in and out.

Remember the branches represent your possibilities in life in all the directions you can take.

Take a breath in and out.

As you continue to walk you're going farther and farther.

As you walk get up from this tree you thank it for its beautiful roots.

You thank it for the back it supported you.

You thank it for the inspiration that you can aspire to go higher and higher and grow different branches different paths you take in life.

Take a breath in and out.

As you continue walking down the path.

Take another breath in and out.

As you're walking down the path farther and farther getting more to the end of the forest.

You look around and you thank the trees for its support for its love for its wisdom.

You look around and you thank the trees for its support for its love for its wisdom for its power.

You realize the forest has healed you and that the universe and sources created all these beautiful things in nature to help you symbolically to be a confident feel healed reinvigorated and at peace.

As you begin to continue to walk through the forest almost out.

Take a breath in and out.

Again thanking the forest for all you need.

Turning around making a salute or a bow to the forest.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for being present.

Keep walking on your journey in the forest and be at peace.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

Thank you for taking this journey with the tree.

That was simply beautiful and uplifting...the imagery of the trees providing strength and guidance as we walked through the forest was excellent! The music at the end was like a symphonic salute to the forests of the world! Thank you, will revisit!

AMAZING! Everything I like in a meditation: starting with the breath, frequent reminders to breathe, the hum of birds, and space at the end to just be. So grateful for this practice. Thank you!
