Morning Yoga Nidra For Energy + Focus

Start your morning in bed with this yoga nidra for energy and focus! Instead of snoozing through your alarm for the next 15 - 20 minutes, do this yoga nidra with me to set your intention to be in high energy and focused today. And do this all while laying down in bed!

Good morning.

Welcome to another beautiful day.

As you lay here in bed,

Let's take a few moments to settle into this space before we begin today's practice.

On the next inhale,

Let's raise the arms up overhead and give yourself a nice big stretch.

And then as you exhale,

Stretching out over to the left side.

So you're stretching out the right side torso.

Going slowly,

Just waking up the body.

Inhale arms back to center.

And then as you exhale,

Arms over to the right side,

Stretching out the left side torso this time.

Very slowly,

There's no need to push your way.

Just gently waking up the body now.

Inhale arms back to center.

And then as you exhale,

Draw the knees into the chest,

Drawing the elbows down into the bed and then wrapping the arms around the knees,

Tucking the chin into the chest,

Lifting the shoulders off the bed.

And then give yourself a nice big squeeze as you exhale.

Squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze.

Curl yourself as small and tight as you can into the smallest ball,

Scrunching up the face,

Tensing every single muscle.

And then inhale,

Release and open up.

Feet are hip width apart.

Arms facing up to the sky,

Hands slightly away from the body.

And then relax.

Sensing and feeling your way into all of the physical sensations.

Feeling the fresh energy moving through you.

And the next inhale,

Take a deep breath through the nose,

Belly expanding.

And then as you exhale,

Sticking the tongue out as far as you can go,

Stretching the mouth wide,

Jaw is wide and then release everything that doesn't serve you as you exhale.

Beautiful.

Let's do this two more times.

So inhale through the belly,

Big deep breath through the belly,

Bringing fresh air,

Fresh oxygen into every single cell.

And then with a big deep exhale,

Sticking the tongue out,

Unhinging the jaw and releasing everything that doesn't serve you from the night before with a loud exhale.

Let it go.

Beautiful.

One more time.

Big deep inhale,

Fresh air filling up from deep in the belly.

And then exhale,

Mouth is wide,

Sticking the tongue out as far as it'll go.

Let it go.

And as you lay here,

Opening up into the physical sensations,

Noticing what might be present for you today.

How is my body feeling right now?

How is my mind feeling right now?

No need to change wherever you're at.

Simply noticing what is present in this very moment.

Now bringing your focus and intention into the heart space.

And as you center and ground and open into this energetic heart space and opening into the space of wellbeing,

Opening into the space of being,

Noticing what the physical sensations might feel like,

How this might be feeling within the physical body.

No matter what today brings,

Know that you can always come back to this space of wellbeing,

Grounded and rooted within your heart space.

This sense of wellbeing filling up your body and your entire being.

Let's set our intention for today.

How would you like today to feel like?

State in your intention in the present tense.

If you'd like to have more energy and focus for today,

Perhaps your intention could be I stay in high energy today.

Or very simply,

I am focused today.

Taking a few moments to set your intention.

Now sensing and feeling into what this intention might feel like in the body.

When I stay in high energy,

Where in my body do I feel it?

When I am focused,

How does this show up in the physical body?

Where are the sensations?

Is there an opening or a contraction?

Continuing to breathe deeply into the belly as you inhale and exhale.

As you feel into the physical sensations of what this intention might feel like,

Stepping into this with the whole body and sensing it with the entire being.

Feeling with your entire being how you would like today to feel like.

Now opening with a sense of curiosity if this intention might support a deeper heartfelt desire.

Do you have a heartfelt longing stated in the present tense?

For example,

I am healthy and happy.

Or I am living my life's purpose.

So take a few moments and sensing and feeling into your intention and whether it supports this heartfelt desire.

If nothing is arising for you,

This too is your experience.

Perhaps all you need to do is feeling into this with a sense of curiosity and asking yourself the question of how might today's intention support a deeper heartfelt desire?

And what might this heartfelt desire be?

Giving yourself this time and space to sit and listen to all that is arising.

Touching back into the sense of well-being from within the heart space.

And then now visualize a golden ray of sunshine at the crown of your head.

A ray of energy,

Concentration and focus.

And as you visualize this golden ray of light bathing you from the crown of the head,

Feeling into the physical sensations that might be arising.

Is there a temperature to this?

Is there a sense of warmth or cool to this?

And this golden ray of light from the crown of your head now moves with its ray of energy concentration and focus down through the head into the throat.

Feeling all of the physical sensations this ray of light brings into the base of the throat.

And then this golden ray of light traveling across the top of the right shoulder all the way down the right arm,

Right elbow,

Right wrist.

And this golden ray of light bathing down the right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Fourth finger,

Pinky finger,

Palm of the right hand,

The back of the hand,

The entire right hand.

This golden ray of light now traveling up through the right wrist,

Right elbow,

Right shoulder,

Traveling across the top of the shoulder to the base of the throat and then over to the left shoulder.

Golden ray of light bringing with it energy and focus traveling down the left arm,

Through the left elbow,

Left wrist,

Thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Fourth finger,

Pinky finger,

Palm of the left hand,

Back of the left hand,

The entire left hand bathed in this golden ray of light.

And feeling into all of the physical sensations this golden ray of light brings with it.

Traveling back up through the left wrist,

Left elbow,

Left shoulder,

Across the top of the left shoulder and to the base of the throat.

And then this golden ray of light traveling down the torso,

Through the rib cage,

Through your waist and the hips.

This golden ray of light now traveling down to the right hip and then moving its way all the way down the right leg,

Through the right knee,

Ankle,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Middle toe,

Fourth toe,

Little toe.

The sole of the right foot,

The top of the right foot,

The entire right foot and all your toes bathed in this golden ray of light with energy,

Focus,

Concentration.

Traveling back up the right leg again,

Through the right ankle,

Right knee,

Right hip.

Traveling across the pelvis into the left hip and then traveling all the way down the left leg,

Through the left knee,

Left ankle,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Middle toe,

Fourth toe,

Little toe,

The sole of the left foot,

The top of the left foot,

The entire left foot bathed in this golden ray of sunlight.

And then this golden ray of light moving its way back up again through the left ankle,

All the way up through the left knee,

Traveling all the way up to the left thigh,

Into the left hip,

Across the entire pelvis,

Traveling all the way up through the waist,

Through the torso,

Into the chest,

This golden ray of light into the base of the throat,

All the way up through the throat,

Through the head and back up through the crown of the head once again.

And then sensing and feeling this golden ray of sunlight with its energy and focus bathing you through the entire body,

From the crown of your head to the tips of your toes,

Feeling into all of the physical sensations this brings about within you,

Touching back into the feeling of well-being from within the heart space,

Fusing this with this golden ray of sunlight,

Touching back into your intention and heartfelt desire for today if you had one,

Once again repeating it in the present tense.

Feeling what this feels like within the body and then once again embody it with your entire being.

Feeling into the joy this brings about,

This joy of being,

Noticing if there are any emotions or thoughts that might be present.

As you open into the joy of well-being and being,

Bringing this sense of energy and focus with you for the rest of today.

The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.

Very slowly,

Gently open your eyes.

You might like to give yourself a nice big stretch and then whenever you're ready,

Roll over to your right side for a few moments,

Basking in all of the sensations,

Feeling energized,

Focused,

Ready to start your day.

And always remember at any time today,

You can always bring yourself back to this feeling of well-being and being,

The golden sun rays bathing you with fresh energy.
