This meditation is offered as a gentle companion for your personal journey inward.
It is not intended to replace professional mental health care,
Therapy or medical advice.
Please find a quiet place if you can,
But if the morning is a little bit noisy and chaotic,
You can let that be okay too.
You don't need silence to return to yourself,
You just need to find a moment of presence.
Please allow your body to settle.
You can either be seated or lying down,
Whatever feels right for you in this moment,
Just be in it.
And take a deep inhale with me,
Inhale,
And exhale.
Inhale.
Once again,
Inhale,
And exhale.
And let's begin to invite more awareness to this breath.
Inhale slowly through the nose this time,
Inhale,
And exhale through the mouth,
Exhale.
Once again,
Inhale through the nose,
And exhale through the mouth.
Wonderful.
Let's let the breath now return to its natural rhythm.
Let it come and go just like the tide,
Crashing against the shoreline and returning back out.
You don't need to control it,
You can just allow it.
You can even put your hand on your chest if that feels right.
Now let's remind ourselves that this meditation isn't about becoming a better version of ourselves.
We're not manifesting or trying to achieve or solve anything.
It's just about arriving here in the present moment,
This morning,
The next breath.
Just being your own companion in this moment.
Notice your body and just listen to the sounds of the music for a moment.
And as you sit here in this awareness,
Just begin to notice how your body's feeling.
Is it tense?
Is it calm?
Maybe you feel a little restless?
Or maybe just everything's okay.
There's no right or wrong answer.
We're not here to judge or analyze.
It's literally just being as you are.
Now let's try and get a bird's eye view of our thoughts.
Imagine that you are looking down on your own thought processes.
How are they?
How have they been?
Maybe your mind's racing a little bit.
Maybe you feel a bit foggy or scattered,
Or maybe you feel quiet and calm.
Once again,
However they are,
Just let them be.
There's no right or wrong.
It's just about noticing them.
As you notice them,
Just let them drift like clouds.
You don't have to follow everyone or fix anything.
Simply just about becoming aware of yourself in this moment and being with yourself.
Once again,
Let's return to the breath.
This time,
As you inhale through your nose,
I'd like you to just think the thought,
I am here.
And as you exhale,
Think I am safe.
You can do this on your own for the next moment.
Inhale I am here,
And exhale I am safe.
I am safe.
I am here.
I am safe.
Let's take each moment today as it comes.
Let's try and honor the present moment as often as we can.
When we notice ourselves drifting,
Return to your breath,
Return to your body,
Your mind,
And just notice.
And with that recognition,
By honoring yourself in this way,
You'll realize that you may find a place of calmness throughout the day.
Sometimes that's all it takes.
It's not about fixing,
It's about noticing.
Sometimes showing up is just about being in your own presence.
Sometimes it's impossible to show up when we're not present.
We're just moving through the day,
Stressfully,
With panic.
There's no need for that when you can return to self.
And that's what today is all about.
I'll repeat these five affirmations just to really affirm that statement.
I return to myself.
I return to myself.
I return to myself.
I return to myself.
I return to myself.
Wonderful.
Today,
You're not late to your life,
You're right on time,
Just for you.
Slowly begin to open your eyes and stretch or move your body in any way that feels natural for you.
This meditation is all about space and slowness,
So take it into the day with you and realize how important that is.
Have a wonderful day.
