Emily Millar

Emily Millar is a Registered Psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher who has spent her career helping children, teens, and families better understand their minds, emotions, and nervous systems. She studied Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Ottawa and later completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology. In 2018, Emily trained as a teacher in Mindfulness-Based Symptom Management through the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic. Emily brings a playful, compassionate, and practical approach to mindfulness. She believes mindfulness doesn’t have to mean sitting perfectly still or clearing your mind—it can be about learning to pause, notice what is happening inside, and meet ourselves with greater kindness and curiosity. Her work is especially informed by her own experience growing up as a highly sensitive child who felt things deeply. Today, she loves sharing accessible mindfulness practices that help people feel more grounded, connected, and able to navigate life’s big feelings with greater ease.
