Open To New Ideas
A guided meditation journey to open your heart and mind to new possibilities and ideas. Perfect for anyone who is stuck in the same old thought patterns and wishes to open their heart and mind to what's possible.
Transcript
This is a meditation designed to help you open yourself up to new ideas and possibilities.
In this meditation we will connect with universal consciousness,
The birthplace of new ideas.
In order to open yourself up to new ideas we are going to soften through the heart and open your mind.
Then you will visualize your thoughts flowing from your head,
Old beliefs leaving the body and opening up to any new ideas or beliefs that are meant for you.
When we allow our heart to lead and let go of the rigid structures of the mind we begin to flow with our lives.
Inspiration flows in and inspiration flows out.
All of the ideas that are meant for you will find their way into your mind so you can act on them with ease and effortlessness.
Let's begin.
Come into a comfortable seat in a chair or the floor.
Maybe you'd like to lay down.
Finding a comfortable position wherever you are.
Nice long spine.
Lengthen through the neck.
Close your eyes.
Allow your hands to rest,
Palms open in a gesture of receptivity.
And then in your own time take three deep breaths.
Nice deep inhales into your belly and long exhales out.
Each breath allow yourself to drop in to the present and into your body.
And as you finish your third breath start to bring a nice even rhythm to your breathing.
Making the inhale and exhale equal length.
If it helps you may want to add a count to the breath.
Inhaling and exhaling for a count of four.
Just finding that nice deep even rhythm.
And as you continue to breathe nice and deep and even.
Just bring your attention to your body.
Just notice how your body feels right now.
Notice any tightness or tension.
Any sensations or feelings or thoughts that come up as you drop in to your meditation.
Noticing without judgment what's going on for you right now.
And if your mind is racing and if your body feels restless,
That's okay.
Just taking a few deep breaths and allowing it to feel exactly how it feels.
And allowing it to feel exactly how it feels.
Continue to breathe nice and deep.
And start to bring your attention to heart center.
That space just behind the breastbone.
Just getting a sense of how your heart feels right now.
Maybe you notice your heartbeat.
Maybe just get a sense of the heart's energy.
And within the next few breaths.
Just gently invite your heart to soften.
Speak to your heart.
And say,
Soften.
I soften my heart.
And as you soften the heart.
Maybe your shoulders drop down a little.
And your chest feels more open.
And your breath flows freer in and out.
Softening the heart.
Continue to invite the heart to soften.
And now bring your attention to your mind.
To those racing thoughts.
And as you continue to soften the heart.
Also invite your mind to open.
On all sides.
Opening the mind.
And softening the heart.
Take a few breaths here.
Opening the mind.
Softening the heart.
Opening the heart.
Softening the mind.
And now I want you to imagine.
A beautiful garden.
And there you are.
Walking through the garden.
Looking at all the plants.
Flowers.
Vegetables.
Whatever you see.
And just picture this garden.
In as much detail as you can.
Walk through the lanes and paths.
Inhale the scents of the flowers.
Hear the sounds of the birds.
And the bees.
And the wind.
Feel a soft breeze upon your skin.
And then as you walk through your garden.
Suddenly you come upon a place.
That looks like a great spot to lay down.
So you drop.
To the ground.
Or maybe sit on a bench.
And you just allow yourself to relax.
Into the earth.
Continuing to smell the flowers.
As you look up at a bright blue sky.
Allow your energy.
To ground down.
Into the earth.
And feel the earth.
Rise up.
To support you.
This garden.
This garden.
Is a safe place.
For you to relax.
For you to continue to open your heart.
And open your mind.
Continue to breathe.
Slow and deep.
And even.
As you lay in your garden.
And then.
Out of nowhere.
You notice a sound in the distance.
Like.
Running water.
And you decide to go investigate.
Gently.
Lift up off the ground.
And wander.
Through your garden.
Into the trees.
Where you come upon.
A small stream.
You walk to the sandy edge.
And look down.
At the rushing water.
And as you look at the water.
You notice.
It's actually full of thoughts.
Your thoughts.
All of those common thoughts.
Those old beliefs.
Any thought.
And every thought you've ever had.
Exists in this river.
This rushing stream.
You take a moment to rest.
On the bank.
And look down.
At your thoughts.
And as you breathe.
Maybe certain thoughts.
Start to rise to the surface.
If they do.
Just acknowledging them.
And then gently.
Placing them back.
Into the stream.
Where they rush away.
Through the woods.
And out of sight.
Take a few moments.
To look at your thoughts.
Place them in the river.
And let them go.
And as you watch the flowing water.
You begin to notice.
The sound.
Of even more water in the distance.
And so you stand.
And you follow the stream.
Out into the woods.
And then suddenly you come upon.
The ocean.
And you see that your stream.
Is one of many.
Many streams.
All of which.
Flow into.
Your universal consciousness.
This ocean of ideas.
You walk to the ocean's edge.
And you realize just how vast.
It is.
Stretching off.
Into the distance.
Endless ideas.
Endless possibilities.
Smell the salt.
Of the waves.
Hear the rushing of the water.
As you open your mind.
Just a little bit more.
And soften.
Your heart.
You look back.
At your stream.
The stream of your thoughts.
And you notice that.
Every once in a while.
The ocean.
Water.
Rushes up.
And infuses your stream.
With fresh new water.
Fresh new ideas.
And as you continue to breathe.
And allow your heart.
To soften.
You notice that the opening.
From the river.
To the ocean.
Grows wider.
And wider.
Letting in more thoughts.
New beliefs.
And new ideas.
Watching as.
Fresh ideas flow down.
Into your stream.
You begin to walk back.
Up the stream.
Of your own ideas.
Watching these fresh ideas.
Jumping.
Flowing in the river.
Of your thoughts.
And you know that.
Even if the idea.
Isn't quite clear yet.
It's there.
And ready for you.
To continue.
Continue to walk back.
Along your stream.
And then go back.
Through the woods.
Into your garden.
Take a final moment here.
To ground.
This feeling.
Of an open heart.
An open mind.
And know that at any point.
You can come back here.
If you need inspiration.
Safety.
Comfort.
Or new ideas.
Gently begin to deepen your breath.
Drawing your inhales.
Into the belly.
Taking nice long exhales out.
Notice how the breath.
Feels in your body.
Infusing you with energy.
Feel.
Where the ground.
And the chair.
Presses up.
Against your back.
Against your seat.
Start to notice.
Any noises.
In your environment.
As you gently.
Begin to come back.
Into your body.
Into your physical space.
Start to bring tiny movements.
To your fingers.
And your toes.
You take a nice big.
Stretch through the body.
And then whenever.
You feel ready.
Come back.
