And let me quickly introduce myself.

My name is Diana Mirzaeva.

I am a Mind Body Connection coach,

A psychosomatic specialist and a meditation teacher.

And today I decided to organize this live event because I felt the urge that I not only want to share some of my perspective and knowledge and information,

But also to discuss this topic with you guys.

The topic of living at your own pace,

Of creating your life on your terms and most importantly improving the quality of your life.

This is what I have been working with,

With my clients,

With myself and feeling that it is important to do it right now for the past maybe four or six weeks.

And that is why sort of I decided to organize this live event and invite all of you guys.

Good morning everyone!

And yeah,

I believe that this topic of living intentionally and always always growing,

Because I'm sure that the community here on Insight Timer is very mindful and are focused on self-development and improving our lives.

The quality of life is crucial for achieving whatever we want in life,

For becoming whoever we want in life.

So that is why we are here and that is why I would like it to be a discussion.

So I would love you guys to participate in the comment section and ask your questions,

And I would say most importantly,

If you have another vision or something that you would like to share,

I sort of have a plan of the topics that I would like to cover today of some aspects and also I would like to mention in the beginning that right now I am developing a new course for Insight Timer which will be dedicated to improving the quality of life.

This is the course that will contain seven techniques in the form of meditations which you can perform either every day,

Some of them are very suitable for that,

Or from time to time when you feel the urge for that,

If it will resonate at some point with you.

These techniques are very practical and doing them regularly with dedication,

Actually practicing them,

Something that you will find during your meditation experience in your real life will absolutely,

With no doubt,

Help you improve the quality of your life.

So what is important here is not only to take the course,

To listen to the meditations and to practice in the moment,

But to set apart the time for yourself,

To dedicate this regular time and of course once again to practice,

To implement some sort of insights or new experiences that you will get through techniques and with meditations.

So a lot of that will depend on you but I'm sure that that's why we are here for and when the course comes out I really would love to see you guys there and I'm sure that anyone and everyone will benefit from that.

But once again the course is still in development and if you have any requests,

Well and getting back to the topic of what is the quality of life for you,

I would definitely would like to hear from you guys.

First of all,

What does it mean to you,

The quality of life and the second,

What may help you improve the quality of your life or what actually influences the quality of your life.

What is quality of life for you and what influences this quality of life.

Quality of life is something that it's like a mirror of how you feel and of course the quality of life is the support that you're getting from yourself that you feel around you,

The sense of safety and stability.

It is sort of an inner feeling and of course a big part of that plays your physical and mental health.

So that sort of combination of the inner feeling and the health that you get,

That would be a basic construct of quality of life as for me.

Being able to help others in some small way and that only works if I can take care of myself first.

Absolutely.

You're willing to help others but definitely everything starts with you,

With ourselves in the first place,

The next question I actually would like to ask you guys is what feeling or what emotional state do you guys wake up with every day,

Right in the morning,

Probably even before you open your eyes?

What is that feeling or state that you wake up with every morning?

It can be maybe a few feelings depending on each day.

It can be one dominant one that dominates most of your mornings.

And here,

I would definitely like to hear your experience,

Before sharing mine,

Before moving on with some sort of information about that.

So what feeling is the first one that you experience when you wake up?

Angela,

One of you is confusion.

More like,

Okay,

That was a joke.

More like curiosity about what the day will bring.

Curiosity.

That's amazing.

That is great.

That's a perfect one.

Great.

Might be sometimes confusion as well,

I guess.

Sharon,

Patience for you.

That's an interesting one,

Patience,

Because to me,

As I was working quite a lot from my experience with that,

Let's say,

Feeling,

I'm very impatient,

Extremely impatient.

I hate waiting.

I become very irritated or upset if I cannot get something that I want right at this moment.

Even if I know I have to wait just a bit,

I have this feeling of being impatient.

And this is what I mean.

I had to work a lot on that.

And yeah,

I definitely became better at accepting things as they are,

At giving time to something or someone.

And yes,

The patience word for me has both sides.

So rather,

You have to force yourself to be patient,

To develop the patience,

Or the patience when you feel light about whatever the day may bring to you.

So this is how I see specifically this word from you,

Sharon.

And it would be great if you could share a bit more of what kind of patience it is for you.

But anyway,

I would hope that it is something lighter,

Something maybe a bit exciting,

Being patient about the day,

And accepting that the way it will unfold.

Unfortunately,

Anxiety,

Which I'm working through.

Yes,

I definitely can resonate with that.

And anxiety is very common for most of people to experience nowadays,

Including the mornings,

Including being the first feeling to experience after we wake up.

And first of all,

I want to say that it is normal.

It is okay.

And that is amazing that you are working with it,

Of course.

So I guess that is meditating in the morning for you.

Rosa,

Also anxiety.

Right.

And Sid's confidence for you.

Confidence.

Well,

Feeling confidence in the morning is also very powerful.

I'm very happy to know that.

As for me,

Some of the days I would say depends on the period of my life.

So maybe a couple of weeks ago,

Most of the mornings were covered for me with anxiety.

So I can definitely relate to that.

And it's kind of hard.

Yeah,

I'm sure that anyone had it previously and can imagine how it feels.

But of course,

It's very important just to work with that.

And it will definitely change and become better.

And in some other periods of my life,

When I wake up,

First of all,

The feeling of laziness,

I get it a lot of times.

I love to sleep,

As all of us do.

But for some reason,

I think it is just a kind of trick of my mind that goes from the childhood when I had to wake up early in the morning for school.

But I still get it.

But then I wake up and realize,

Oh,

My God,

I'm an adult now,

And I can spend a bit more time in my bed.

So that's kind of a little joke.

Yeah,

The feeling of laziness.

But mostly,

I would say this is inner quietness,

Inner calmness,

When I feel that,

Well,

That's another part of the day that is ahead of me.

A bit of excitement and curiosity,

As some of you mentioned.

It's a mix of feelings.

But mostly,

I would say it's calmness and openness.

Let's say openness to something new,

To some experiences.

Yes.

And of course,

I definitely prefer the second version,

The second option,

Rather than having anxiety in the morning.

But it is not something that we can fully control ourselves.

Actually,

I do not believe that we can control our emotions or feelings.

So it is just how it is.

It is how our bodies,

Our minds are working with our bodies,

Our chemical states,

And so on.

So what I want to say now is that we just have to acknowledge what we experience and accept it.

Maybe we do not agree with that.

Of course,

Probably we don't want to experience something unpleasant.

But just accepting it and not resisting it,

Not giving our energy to fighting that feeling will make a big difference already.

And of course,

It will be a good foundation to start working with it,

Transforming it.

And let me get back to your comments,

The one from Sharon about patience,

Being patient with myself,

Enjoying having coffee while watching the sunset and breathing exercises,

Organizing my day.

Well,

I guess watching the sunrise in the morning,

If we are talking about the first part of the day and organizing my day,

Yeah,

That sounds beautiful.

It is a great ritual.

I love to have quiet mornings,

A bit of time for myself,

Yes,

To connect with myself with the day ahead.

Just having the morning routine is extremely essential for me and I believe for everyone.

Tan,

I think my brain starts before my feelings.

Yes,

The brain.

That's interesting.

I was just trying to somehow feel that.

That's great.

And how does your brain then start?

Do you mean it starts having some sort of thoughts or you just feel the energy in your brain and then some feelings awaken?

And as a psychosomatic specialist and based on the researches on the body,

Actually,

We get our emotions,

Our general state,

Our impulse,

Let's say better just use the word impulse,

Even before we get the thought in our brain.

So a few particles of a second before then we get a thought.

So it is actually what happens inside our bodies rather than we think first.

But yes,

I guess it doesn't matter that much in the context of our today's discussion.

Well,

And really,

Tan,

I think my emotions start well before my brain.

So interesting.

Yes,

I definitely believe that it depends on each person and our experiences,

How our bodies work,

How we live in our bodies,

Right?

That is interesting to notice such differences.

It just amazes me how different we all are and how much we can resonate with each other's experience at the same time.

Well,

If it is how I understand that,

Then probably not.

It is not an aspect that I wanted to discuss.

Why am I awake?

What time is it?

Do I need to get up?

So,

Right.

That's a very curious question.

Why am I awake?

So we can look at this question right at the moment or speaking probably in the context of the whole life.

Western capitalist culture is so focused on the individual.

No wonder we feel anxious when we believe it is all down to us,

The me culture.

Join together with others like this to relieve the pressure.

Yeah.

There are hundreds,

Thousands of reasons why we might feel anxious.

And it's,

Again,

Very personal experience and reasons.

But definitely sharing with others,

Finding such support and just knowing that other people can relate to that,

That some people experience the same or experienced earlier who can also share it in the moment,

Provide emotional support.

It is extremely valuable.

These are all the various feelings that we wake up with.

And again,

Based on the psychosomatic studies,

This is the state,

This is the leading emotion that gets us through majority of our lives.

So for some,

Or in some periods for us,

It will be anxiety,

Main feeling that we live with most of our day,

Most of our time.

For some,

It will be feeling of openness and curiosity.

And that is also a beautiful experience.

To some,

It would be kind of interest,

Or maybe if we are looking at another spectrum,

There might be depression or confusion or any sort of difficult emotions.

And once again,

I would love to say that it is okay.

It is okay to feel anything.

And of course,

If you feel that you need some support,

Professional help,

Do not hesitate to do so for yourself.

But what I mean by okay,

That we are all human beings and we are allowed,

We can experience any range,

Any sort of emotions and states.

All right.

Yeah.

So when we already identify this main feeling that leads us throughout your day,

It is actually the feeling that dominates and speaks inside of us when we are making any choices,

Decisions,

Or when.

It is sort of a lens,

How we perceive life,

How we think about our future and our past.

So this first feeling that you get in the morning,

Sort of the glasses that you get on and act throughout the day,

Act in your life,

Show up in your life.

And what is probably,

It may not seem very optimistic at this moment,

Especially if we have mentioned some sort of uncomfortable feelings and emotions,

But the main point here and the best news is that we can either take off these glasses and put on something else.

We can change that.

It is our choice.

And I want you guys to to not only believe in that,

But to know that,

That it is our choice and it depends on us.

It is in our power to change these or any other feeling or emotion in our life.

What do we have to do is to work towards that.

I do not mean,

And I do not say that we will stop experiencing this particular uncomfortable emotion or that we could control it,

Right?

Whether we want to experience it or not.

But what I want to say is that you will still experience that,

But it will be much easier,

Much faster to change that or that this emotion would not even bother you at all.

So you would sort of recognize it and do not actually care so much about that,

About it will not influence you so much.

This is,

I guess,

What I want to say.

This is the best news that we can get,

I'm sure,

Because everything depends on us and our choices.

Well,

And I hope that this will encourage you guys to work,

To work in that direction.

Whatever,

Whatever you experience at the moment or generally from time to time.

Well,

And speaking of anxiety,

This course that will be out,

I would say in a couple of weeks here on Insight Timer,

We'll have a technique how to work with anxiety.

So do not miss that if it is relevant to you.

It is a technique that you can use and meditation that you can practice every day or a few times a day,

Depending on how much you need that or from time to time when you get this anxious feeling inside of you.

And not to say fully what will be in that meditation.

The main point here is that you'll get an experience to sense something completely different.

And again,

This will give you a choice,

This will give you a new experience.

So this is sort of a base of this technique that will be in the course.

And another part,

Another part of the event,

Of the name of the event today is about the pace,

The pace of life.

And this is probably something else that I would like to talk about a bit during our today's session.

But before we move on,

So is this dominating feeling just the state of the nervous system?

So if we work on regulating our nervous system,

Then the feeling will shift?

That is straight to the point.

I love this question.

And my answer,

At least at this period of my life,

Based on my previous experience and working with clients and seeing how we change that is yes,

Nervous system plays the biggest role,

As I see now.

It is the longest,

Physically longest system in our body that touches all of our organs.

Probably majority,

Definitely majority of our cells.

And this is what we have to focus on,

On regulating,

On calming,

On taking care of our nervous system.

Yes,

Because once again,

I believe that our emotions come first,

Our states come first,

Before the thoughts,

Before any logical expression of ourselves.

This is what lives in our body.

And I see our body as our subconsciousness,

As the place where our even unconscious mind lives.

And the more we work with our body,

With the nervous system,

Including the more we can understand ourselves,

And the more it gives us information on what and how we can improve our life,

Our states,

Ourselves.

So yes,

The better,

The healthier,

Let's say,

Let's use this word,

The healthier our nervous system is,

The better our quality of life will be.

Yes,

It will definitely help us to shift these feelings and emotions,

To experience them less time in our life,

More rarely.

And it will,

Our healthy,

Happy,

Let's say,

Happy nervous system will allow us to experience more comfortable emotions.

Positive feelings,

Something pleasant.

Yeah,

So basically speaking,

The more joy we will have in our life.

Right.

And I am saying quite a lot of the word comfortable and uncomfortable.

Again,

It goes from the psychosomatic,

From the science of working with the mind and body,

As seeing them interconnected.

I believe we shouldn't say negative emotions or negative feelings.

Of course,

They are unpleasant,

But negative has the negative connotation,

But all of our emotions and feelings are our best friends.

They are the best signals,

Indicators.

They are the voices that tell us that something is wrong,

That please help me with that,

Or we have to fix this,

Or please pay attention here.

So this is something that definitely is very helpful.

So I prefer to speak of these negative emotions as uncomfortable.

And of course,

The rest that we enjoy,

That we probably do not have to talk much about because we all know how good it feels,

All the comfortable emotions and feelings.

So I just wanted to make it a bit more clear for today's discussion.

I wanted to say a few words about the pace of life.

And it also comes a lot from my inner experience that not only I was,

And am still,

But in a much lighter way,

Impatient.

I was always in a hurry.

And when I was younger,

When I was in my teen years,

Or when I was in my early twenties,

It felt incredible because it allowed me,

It helped me to do so much that I couldn't even imagine that it was possible.

But now I am 31 years old today in this year.

It feels different.

I feel that rushing and pushing myself doesn't feel that right.

So of course,

We're all changing through different stages of life.

And I learned also how to embrace this change and learn from that.

I'm very grateful to my past experiences,

To these emotional states that were driving me towards,

Right,

Towards achieving my goals and developing myself.

But now I know,

I see that there are some other ways.

And that is when I realized that probably hurrying up,

That having an incredible,

Incredibly fast pace of life is not so productive anymore.

And I met a lot of people and most of my clients can definitely resonate with that.

And that is what we also learn together to get such new experience in our sessions,

When we are working again with the mind and the body.

So let me know guys,

What kind of pace of life you're having now or you had in the past,

Whether you also experienced some sort of change about that or not.

Well,

Why I wanted to speak about the pace is because it is a big indicator of how close we are to ourselves,

To our inner world,

To our true selves.

Let me say that for now.

How to look after our nervous system,

Please.

I was late.

So perhaps you have already explained.

No,

Not really.

We haven't actually talked about the ways to take care of our nervous system and to look after that.

But I would say that it's a really big topic and there are so many techniques and you can actually find sort of these topics that I covered in my past life events.

You can see it in my profile,

Maybe after that one.

But basically,

How to look after the nervous system is first of all,

To identify what doesn't feel right for you right now.

Then to find the comfortable ways for yourself of changing that.

Probably it's all individual and different techniques and practices work for different people in different ways.

But I would say most importantly,

Is to set up healthy,

Supportive morning and night routines for yourself.

And also to not engage into the activities that,

Again,

Do not feel right for your nervous system.

And engaging into some kind of physical movement.

It can be sports,

It can be gentle yoga,

It can be some sort of ecstatic dance or somatic movement.

The main point here is to connect to your physical body and to connect,

Thus,

Your mind and body.

Can be dancing and being mindful in the process about that.

And of course,

Generally speaking,

Leading a healthy lifestyle,

Which I'm sure that all of us are aware about,

Changing your diet for the better.

Because what we eat influences a lot of our chemical states,

Our glucose levels and so on.

So that's also something that we focus on in individual work with my clients.

In the past,

I went with my flow and I retired.

I have to make a lot of decisions.

So I want to slow down my path because at first it was fight or flight.

What I highlight interesting in your comment is that in the beginning you're speaking about the flow and then the end fight or flight.

Was fight or flight mode your flow or were they different?

Just curious how it felt for you.

And definitely thank you so much for bringing up the fight or flight mode that in the context of the nervous system,

It's a big,

A big topic as well.

So we definitely have to be more mindful,

More conscious about our pace to take better decisions,

To act from the point of being our better selves rather than from the survival mode,

From the fight or flight mode.

That is true.

Thank you once again for bringing it up in the discussion right now.

And in this context of the past minutes,

I would like to highlight that the pace that we feel that is right for you brings us closer to our true selves,

To the ones who we really are somewhere inside,

Probably in some of the moments,

Periods of our lives when we can bring it up and show to the world.

But as we are all again humans,

As we are ever changing,

Sometimes we cannot be in that state of our best selves all the time.

It is impossible.

Well,

At least from my perspective,

I would be happy to hear your opinion on that guys.

But slowing down a little bit,

Or maybe for some it would be hurrying up a little bit.

It depends on where we are in our lives right now at the moment.

When finding this right pace,

We are not only getting closer to our true selves,

We learn more about ourselves,

But we become this version,

These best versions of ourselves.

And it is a big support,

Self-support,

I can say in our daily life of how we want to live.

And yes,

Choosing the best for ourselves.

And again,

It is a very important moment in my individual work with people that we have to unlock,

To find these best versions of ourselves.

We do not have to construct that because we already have this,

As I describe it,

As this sort of light within the depth of our soul,

Within our.

.

.

It lives in my chest area.

So that's why I'm like sort of tapping in here,

This version of us.

Because of course,

We all want to become this and that,

We all want to grow and achieve a lot of things in different spheres of our life.

And that is amazing that we have such goals and vision for the future,

But we will not be able to achieve any of that until we find and get to know our true selves,

Until we become real us.

And that is the focus of the first stage,

Again,

When I'm working with people.

And when we find that,

When we leave that,

When we leave from the place of our true selves,

Of being authentic,

Again,

Not all the time,

Because it would be very challenging.

We can construct the lives of our dreams.

And it also refers a bit to the topic of goals.

We have to get to know our true selves and to leave from the place of our true selves.

And once again,

To get back to the topic that we are discussing today is how to improve the quality of life and live according to your own authentic pace.

And this is a discussion related to the course that will be released in the nearest weeks here on Insight Timer that will have seven techniques that will undoubtedly help you to improve the quality of your life if you practice them regularly with dedication and if you leave these insights in your everyday life,

The insights that you get from the meditations and experiences.

Right.

So I invite all of you guys to that course on how to improve your life.

And for now,

Let's move to our today's meditation.

So please take a comfortable seat.

It may be sitting up.

If it doesn't feel right for you,

You can lie down.

But I encourage you to practice all of my meditations sitting up,

Because when we lie down,

The defensive mechanisms of our mind and psychological states turn on.

So it doesn't let us go that deeply into the subconscious mind.

So if you can,

Please sit up with your back straight.

You can sit on the floor with your legs straight or crossed on a chair.

Take a deep breath into your belly.

And with the next exhale,

Close your eyes.

Observe your natural breath for a while.

Concentrate on the movement of your chest or belly or on the air that you feel beneath your nose.

Try to elongate your exhales a little bit and make your inhales a bit deeper and send the air down to your pelvic floor.

Do not force the breathing.

Let it be as comfortable as possible.

Pay attention to your physical body.

If there is any tension,

Send there your breath.

If there is any tension,

Send there your breath.

And with an intention,

Just relax the muscles there.

And notice how you feel emotionally at this moment.

The first emotion that got into your mind,

This word,

Is the right one.

So feel where you experience this emotion in your body now.

In which part of the body you feel this emotion the most.

Locate that in your physical body.

And concentrate on experiencing this emotion and try to describe it.

How do you see this emotion in your mind's eye?

What color is it?

What color is it?

What texture is it?

What temperature does it have?

What size is it?

If you cannot answer some or all of these questions,

No problem.

It is all right.

Just try to describe it to get as many details about this emotion as possible.

And identify for yourself whether this emotion is positive,

Is comfortable to you,

Or it is uncomfortable.

And just for our today's practice,

Just for the next seven to ten minutes,

I would like you to find an uncomfortable emotion.

Just so you can get an experience of working with it.

Trust that it is completely safe for you to experience whatever comes to you during this practice.

And if you found this uncomfortable emotion,

Just breathe in there and accept it as a part of who you are at this right moment.

It is just a little part of you.

It is just a little part of you.

It is just a part of your current experience.

And look at this emotion in your body.

And see what stands behind this emotion.

If I take out this layer of uncomfortable emotion from you now,

What is behind that?

What is behind that layer?

For many,

That might be fear.

If it is something else for you that is perfect,

Just take it out.

Just breathe with it.

Just see what is behind the first uncomfortable emotion.

And it might be just a general fear or fear of something specific.

It doesn't matter for now.

It might be this fear or something else that you saw.

And also try to describe that for yourself.

Maybe on the level of sensations or visualizations with a color,

Texture,

Size.

Maybe it has a sound,

Smell,

Or a taste.

See this fear or something you've discovered for yourself as a part of your current experience,

Just a small part of it.

Do not go deep there.

Do not go deep there.

Simply identify and acknowledge that.

And for now,

I'm simply taking off this layer.

There is no fear,

Nothing else.

And see what is behind that.

What stands behind that fear or that feeling you had?

Something that is probably closer to your heart,

Closer to who you are.

For many,

It might be either total stillness,

Sort of confidence,

Calmness.

Describe what exactly you see there in the depth of you.

Breathe into that area,

Into that feeling.

This is the place where you can find the real you.

Feel that stillness,

Quietness,

Where you can find the real you.

Feel that stillness,

Quietness,

Probably silence.

Describe how you hear it,

How you see it,

How you feel it.

Breathe in and out and connect.

And now,

I will ask you to remember or imagine a situation when you felt at your best,

That you were your best self,

Or how you want to feel.

Invite this emotion or feeling inside of your body.

Breathe it in and invite inside of you.

How did you feel in that situation?

Sense what comes to you.

Experience it in your body right now.

All the physical sensations that come from your body,

All the physical sensations that come when you feel at your best.

Probably you will notice that your posture becomes a bit more upright,

Your shoulders relax,

Your chest area expands,

And feeling as your best self.

Invasion or remember yourself acting in your daily life or in that situation.

How would or did you act?

Would or did you act?

Behave.

Move.

Communicate.

What would you do?

You can see some of the scenes from your past or maybe the future.

The image of your best self and come back to the sensations,

To everything that happens in your body when you are your best self.

And if you could describe this person,

The best version of yourself,

With one adjective,

What word would it be?

The first word that you get is probably the most right one.

How would you describe that person?

And now let's anchor this feeling and this emotion in your body.

Just set an intention to anchor it.

And it is so.

You can take a slightly deeper breath in and out.

If you would like to stay in this meditative state for a while longer,

Feel free to do so.

And if you are ready,

You can open your eyes,

You can move your body a bit,

Come back to our space.

And what you guys have experienced now,

The two states,

Is an example and prove that you can switch,

Can switch between the uncomfortable and comfortable emotion.

I just wanted to show you guys that it is a choice,

That there is a way to work with that.

And it definitely takes a lot of time,

Practice,

Dedication,

But it is all possible.

And whenever you find yourself being stuck or experiencing an uncomfortable emotion,

You remember that you have a choice and you have that switch inside of you.

Your body already knows how to experience them both.

If they are polar,

Perfect.

Your body knows the experience of uncomfortable emotion.

And what you should probably do is to enhance,

To get more physical,

Sensitive experience of this positive state.

And your body can change that.

Your mind will help you with that.

There are many different ways how to work with the states,

With the emotions,

How to push that switch.

And again,

It depends on each person and different techniques,

Different practices will be more or less suitable for each one here.

But I hope that most importantly you guys got this experience,

Probably the new experience for yourself too.
