Namaste sannyasa family and everyone.
A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,
Dhyansa.
We are meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
First few minutes of this session are dedicated to the addict in you.
To the addict that is not there only in you,
But in all of us.
Without exception in all of us,
That addict that is there in us.
Not just the addict of alcohol,
Not just the addict of some substance,
Some drug,
But the addict also of God,
Of religion,
Of meditation,
Of spirituality,
Of sports,
Of anything that you name in your life.
Any aspect of your life.
The addict that is there in you.
Few minutes to contemplate over what is this addict looking for in all these different ways.
In the alcohol,
In the drug,
In the spirituality,
In the religion,
In the God,
In the meditation.
What is this addict looking for?
If you ask yourself.
This addict that we have been condemning all throughout our life.
That innocent addict,
That innocent child within,
That we have been condemning,
Made to feel guilty of every act that that addict does.
What is this addict looking for?
What is that innocent child looking for in all these acts?
If you observe,
You will find out that child,
That innocent child,
That addict is looking for expansion,
Is looking for liberation,
Is looking for an escape from this world in which the inner and the outer does not align.
The intelligence within is there and that intelligence,
That wisdom,
Just does not match with what is going on outside.
What shall that innocent addict do?
It finds,
It tries to look for an escape.
If you observe in that escape,
What was that addict looking for,
What was this underlying search that that addict was looking for,
The intelligence,
The wisdom,
This inner sense,
What was it looking for?
It was looking for that expansion,
That liberation,
That which is your true nature,
That expansion of consciousness,
That liberation of energies,
That that addict was looking for.
The means that it chose could be stupid,
Could be wrong,
Could be a complete misled in life.
But what the addict is looking for is expansion,
Is essentially liberation of energies,
Is love.
The addict in all of us is looking for that love and trying to somehow find that love,
That expansion,
That liberation in different ways which somehow for a very moment gives a consolation.
And since the addict does not know how to find that liberation,
How to find that expansion,
How to be in that love,
How to be oneself is settling for those consolations for a few moments.
And then comes the condemnation,
Then comes the guilt,
Then comes the burden,
Then comes the stress of changing that somehow.
What a process that an addict lives in all of us.
Looking for love,
Looking for expansion,
Looking for liberation,
Not knowing how to approach this,
Finding ways in which there is only consolation,
There is even more misery.
Two friends were talking,
One said to the other,
You left alcohol for her?
The other friend said yes.
The first friend said,
You left even tobacco smoking for her?
He said yes.
The friend said,
You left gambling,
You left playing all kinds of gambling,
All kinds of alcohol,
All kinds of addictions for her?
He said yes.
The friend said,
Then why didn't you marry her?
The friend said,
After all that reform,
I realized I could do better.
You can also do better if you know how to reach to this expansion,
How to reach to this liberation,
How to be in love,
How to be in oneself.
You don't need that escape,
You don't need those measures,
Those consolations which always take you to the high or to the low.
Those are substitutes,
Stupid ways of addressing something so meaningful in your life.
And while you take those paths out of ignorance,
All this condemnation,
All this guilt,
Stop that guilt,
Stop that condemnation,
Recognize your innocence,
Recognize the intelligence that is there underneath that addiction,
Underneath that search,
Underneath that energy,
That wants to liberate,
That wants to expand,
That wants to share love and connection with everyone.
That is where the true liberation lies.
That is where the true coming out of all addiction lies.
Not only of alcohol,
Not only of substances,
Even religion,
Spirituality becomes an addiction,
Because it becomes an escape,
Because the intelligence,
The wisdom cannot live,
Cannot connect between what you see outside,
What you see within,
What you feel within.
So it wants an escape.
It may not go for alcohol,
It may not go for drugs,
It will go for religion,
It will go for personification of God,
It will go for all kinds of belief systems,
And those addictions are far more dangerous,
Far more difficult to even observe,
To even realize that you are in some form of an addiction.
Don't condemn the addict.
Understand,
Listen to this addict that is there,
The innocent child within all of us,
Wanting that expansion,
Wanting that liberation,
Wanting that love.
Even for some,
Even meditation becomes an addiction,
Because they find it as an escape from the rest.
Meditation is not an escape.
Meditation cannot be an addiction,
Because meditation is your true nature.
Your true nature cannot be addiction,
But whatever you do in an attempt can be all these misleading ways,
Can become an addiction.
If you are doing something repeatedly in order to escape from something else,
In order to find that what you are looking for,
That may become an addiction.
So all those who are caught up in the doing,
In the substitute,
They may find even meditation,
Spirituality,
Religion,
Sports,
Anything in life as an addiction.
The message of Tantra vibration is to recognize your true nature,
That you are expansion,
Your true nature is of expansion,
Is of liberation,
Is of love,
Is of connection,
And all ways of the Tantra are not about doing something,
Are not about trying to achieve A with a B.
It directly takes you to what you are looking for in life.
That expansion,
That liberation,
That love,
That connection.
All these methods,
All these techniques,
They are just using different aspects of your life to open the door,
To take you from wherever you are,
Even your addictions.
If you observe your addictions,
Those addictions can become the doorway to this expansion,
To this liberation.
So whatever you are doing as a process to come out of your addictions in life,
Let them be.
Tantra vibration is not interfering with that.
All Tantra vibration is saying is observe,
Observe this process while you go through this urge,
This compulsion,
This need for expressing,
This need for escaping,
This need for finding this expansion and liberation somewhere in a substitute,
Somewhere in some form.
Tantra is saying observe that,
Remain aware,
Remain observant of that.
If you can remain observant of your own self,
If you can remain observant of this entire process that you go through without judgement,
Without condemning yourself,
Without having the guilt of going in and out of that process.
If you simply remain observant,
That observation itself can become such a powerful doorway because you will realize that this process of addiction,
There are doorways,
There are points in your interaction with your addictions where you can come out of it easily.
Other than the understanding,
Other than the wisdom,
Other than coming to that expansion,
Coming to that liberation directly,
In order to come out of all these substances,
All these things that are holding you,
You see that you and that substance,
You and that link,
That relationship between you and that substance is not always strong.
It's weak sometimes,
It's strong sometimes,
It changes and if you observe this relationship,
You will see that it behaves as if you are somewhere in the center and that addiction is orbiting around you,
Not in a circular way but in an elliptical way.
You are at the center and your addiction is somewhere,
It is revolving around you in an elliptical way.
Sometimes it is very very far away from you,
Sometimes it is very very close to you.
When it is very close to you and you try to leave that addiction,
You try to come out of that addiction,
What happens is you are even more further in stress because you are going against something that is very very powerful in those moments and if you are unable to do that,
Condemnation,
Guilt,
All forms of negativity arise on you and also others,
They also give that to you.
In ignorance,
In not knowing how much harm they are doing to you.
So observe your link,
Observe your relationship with your addiction and other than what I told you to be in this nature of expansion,
In this liberation,
While you observe your addiction,
You will see in this pattern there comes a point that is much further away from you.
When you are at your center,
When you are in your being and that point is so far away that it is so easy to just give a nudge to it and be completely away from it.
The exit from your addictions is very very easy if you can observe your addictions.
It is the easiest thing to do yet it looks like the most difficult thing in the world because you have not yet observed the pattern of your addictions that it runs in like an ellipse around you and there are points through which you can exit.
Let us move to the technique for today from Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and utilize that technique for the expansion,
For the liberation,
For the connection,
For the love that we have all within us.
We are all what we are doing here is to recognize that in us.
As I see this technique we may need more time for the explanation.
So let us take these next minutes to observe oneself,
To observe this addict in us which is wanting that liberation,
Which is wanting that expansion in us.
Observe that,
Listen to that and remain in silence for the next minutes.
Please close your eyes and take a posture that is comfortable for you.
With your body,
Alert yet relaxed.
Giving yourself these moments for your body to rest,
For your mind to calm down and your awareness to turn inwards.
Come to that complete For the next minutes,
Observe this edit.
There is addicted to doing,
Trying to do something.
Simply observe this doer without judging,
Without trying to interfere.
The watch comes three minutes later.
