Kundalini is a complex and highly misunderstood topic. Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning: a dormant energy that we have in our system. Kunda means a pit, pot, or container – essentially, something that contains something – and Lini means to be dormant, sleeping or silent. Hi,

This is Dhyansey and you're listening to Dhyansey Meditation Podcast.

This meditation session was held on 10th of September in Basel,

Switzerland.

Here I discuss about Kundalini energy and seven chakras.

Hope you enjoy the meditation.

Very warm welcome to all of you in this Monday evening meditation session with me Dhyansey,

Which happens every Monday from 7 to 8 p.

M.

Together as a meditation group,

We have been on this journey since January,

Since last eight months and we have come across many different ways of understanding and entering into the state of what we call as meditation.

In the previous session,

We touched upon a very delicate topic of Kundalini yoga,

Of Kundalini meditation and we saw how we can create the balance between two different forces,

Two different energy systems in our body.

Today I would like to build upon that.

I see there are some new faces today.

The content of today's session is a bit esoteric in nature.

You have to be a little open minded.

You have to be a bit more alert to pay attention to what I'm saying,

To understand what I'm saying and if you find it overwhelming,

If you do not understand anything,

Please let me know.

But I would love to build upon what we did last time.

Even if you did not attend the last session,

You can still go into this what I'm saying today with full openness,

With full authenticity,

With full sincerity.

This topic of Kundalini yoga is very,

Very significant for a meditator because when the meditation matures,

When any meditator who is practicing,

It does not matter what kind of meditation,

When he reaches to a stage where he starts to feel changes in the body,

In the mind,

In the energy system,

He should know what's going on.

He should know upfront what is coming up.

So I'm dedicating this session today for those who take meditation as a serious practice.

They have this as a practice integrated into their life and they will,

If not today,

If not in the next weeks,

Months,

Experience these little subtle energy changes in themselves as we go along.

Kundalini,

What is Kundalini?

Anybody knows what Kundalini is?

Anybody heard about Kundalini?

So there is a lot of information available from different sources on what is Kundalini,

But it's one of the most misunderstood topics and I hope by me elaborating this today,

It doesn't add to the confusion,

But rather makes things more clearer for you,

Give you triggers to understand this,

To bring what it can deliver to your life,

What it can benefit to your life.

Kundalini is nothing but another dominant energy,

Dormant energy that we have in our system.

Kundalini by the word,

If you break this down,

The Sanskrit word,

It means kunda,

Which is a pit,

A pot or a container,

Something that contains and lini,

Which is dormant,

Sleeping,

Silent.

And this Kundalini energy is supposed to be sleeping,

Dormant at the base of our spine,

Of our physical spine.

This entire concept of Kundalini and energies are not based in your physical body.

These are concepts for your subtle body,

Your energetic,

Your pranic body,

Your energy body.

And if you are not sensitive enough to your own energy systems,

You might not feel anything.

That's absolutely fine.

So for this session,

When we are going into these energies,

When we are talking about it,

When we are meditating upon these energies,

If your sensitivity is not there to feel these,

Just use your imagination and feel them as if they're there.

Take that as a hypothesis,

Take that as an assumption just for this session.

You don't have to believe anything until you experience it yourself.

So this energy is something like it's a thousand times more powerful,

A thousand times more in magnitude,

Which is present in us,

In all of us.

That is why we say we human beings are far more powerful than we can ever imagine.

But the situation is such that imagine you are right now doing certain jobs to financially support your lifestyle,

What you're doing.

And suddenly somebody tells you,

Or you wake up to the fact that you have $10 million lying in some Swiss bank account on your name.

It's a similar kind of a thing.

When we function with the normal energy that we have,

The energy that we derive from food,

Which we utilize for our daily cycles.

This is something which is,

It's fine to run on that energy system,

But one should know that there is another source which is otherwise typically dormant.

If you like,

You can activate it,

But you need to know what you're going to do with it.

Just like with the analogy of money lying $10 million in your bank account somewhere.

Imagine that you get access to that all of a sudden.

What will happen?

Any imagination what will happen if suddenly,

I don't know if you have it already,

But let's just say,

Let's just say that you suddenly realize that you have tens or hundreds of millions of dollars on your name suddenly assigned to you.

What will you do?

Well,

Maybe a adrenaline doesn't have to go off,

Doesn't it?

Anybody else?

Any imagination what would you do if you?

Okay,

You will feel good.

You will have that adrenaline rush.

Anything else would you do when you would have that kind of a situation?

Donate.

Donate.

So that's a good thought.

Travel.

Travel.

Travel.

Travel.

Chances are that you will make good use of it,

But you could also make bad use of it.

You could just simply waste it and waste your own life out of that as well.

That is why these concepts of Kundalini,

They were kept secret.

They were not told to the general public because these concepts allow you to access that energy,

That sort of energy,

Which unless your system is prepared,

Unless your mind is prepared,

You would not be able to handle it.

And that is why we never go into this.

And in today's session,

We are also not going to activate that energy.

We're not going to give you that 10 hundreds of millions of dollars,

But rather prepare ourselves to cleanse ourselves,

To cleanse our energy system that when along this journey,

Along this meditation journey,

If you get access to this energy,

You will maybe make good use of it.

You will be able to handle it.

You will be able to sustain it in your own system.

There have been so many cases in Indian mysticism where you would see a saint started doing very stupid things and maybe becoming a criminal or becoming a sinner or something goes wrong.

This is all because when the energy rises,

If your mind,

Your body,

Your system is not prepared for it,

You end up losing control.

You end up doing stupid things.

So we are going to,

What we are going to do today is to cleanse the energy system,

Which is based on the philosophy of chakras.

I'm sure most of you have heard these chakras.

These are not real physical things that are present in our physical body,

But rather these are on a subtler level,

Which is known as subtle body,

Which is known as pranic body,

Which is known as energy body.

And those who are sensitive enough,

Those who are maybe working with people with their bodies,

They might also start to feel,

For example,

If you're a masseuse,

You would feel after a certain time where the pain for that particular person is.

This is all because you start to feel those subtle,

Immeasurable energies of the other person of your own system.

And this is where this whole concept of energy system and fixing if there are any blockages in your energy system comes into place.

These seven chakras,

What are these seven chakras?

I'll give you a very brief background because this is a topic where it might need hours,

Days to elaborate on it.

But as a very short summary of it,

The first chakra,

The root chakra,

Which is present in below your genitals,

So the very base of your physical body.

In the physical body,

We will,

When we will talk about these chakras,

We will always represent them and map them on the physical body,

Not because they are present in the physical body,

But because it's easier to understand,

It's easier to visualize,

And it's easier to meditate upon them.

So the first chakra is,

In Sanskrit is called Mooladhara.

Mooladhara means mule,

Means core,

Adhar means foundation.

It means your core foundation.

The core foundation of your energy system is this chakra,

Which is in English you can call it as root chakra,

Is present at the very base below your genitals.

If you go above that,

Then comes the second chakra,

In Sanskrit it's called Swadhisthana.

In English you could call it sacral chakra.

Swadhisthana means swa,

Adhisthana.

Swa in Sanskrit means I,

Adhisthana means is to establish,

Which means this is the chakra,

This is the energy center which gives you the sense of I.

This is where the life energies are connected.

This is two inches or two to three inches below your navel.

So when you're imagining or feeling the center,

You will imagine that there is a very small center two inches below your navel.

It could be in the front or it could be at the back.

For today's session,

It does not matter if we imagine it.

If it's easier for you to imagine it in the front,

You can imagine it in the front.

If it's easier for you to imagine at the back,

You can imagine it at the back,

Along your spine,

All along your spine,

All these chakras.

The Swadhisthana chakra is what gives taste to life.

Again the word Swadhisthana is very interesting because in Sanskrit,

Swadhisht means tasty.

In India when you go and say the food is really tasty,

You would say the food is swadhisht,

Which means this chakra is what gives the essence,

The taste of life,

The taste of different things that you are experiencing.

And if there is a problem,

If there is a blockage in this chakra,

In this energy center,

Your life feels tasteless.

Maybe you feel depressed,

Maybe you feel that there is no juice in life.

Then you go few inches above the navel.

Then in this region comes another chakra which is in Sanskrit called as Manipura.

In English you could call it solar plexus.

In Sanskrit the word Manipura again has a beautiful meaning.

Money is a gem,

A precious stone and Manipura,

Pura means a station,

Somewhere where that jewel,

That gemstone is lying.

So this center,

Energy center is where,

If this energy center is activated,

If this energy center is running,

Functioning well,

You feel a very strong will,

You feel very self-confident and if this is heightened,

Then you might even experience certain powers,

Certain jewels in what is possible for the human system.

We go a little bit up,

We come to the fourth chakra which is the heart chakra.

In Sanskrit it's called as Anahata.

It's present in between your chest,

Right in the middle of your chest.

You can imagine again as a dot,

As a very small dot,

A small mustard seed size dot which is in the very middle center of your chest.

Anahata means the unstruck sound and this is where you start feeling the transformation.

You below this chakra,

You are bound by your desires,

You are bound by the tastes,

You are bound by sex,

You are bound by food,

You are bound by your,

As they call it,

Lower desires.

But when your energy rises and hits the Anahata chakra,

That's where the transformation starts happening.

You become emotionally more intelligent,

You become more heartful,

More compassionate,

More loving,

Not just for yourself but for the entire world.

Then we move to the next chakra,

The fifth chakra,

The throat chakra.

This chakra in Sanskrit is called as Vishuddhi.

Vishuddhi means where purification is happening.

This is where the purification of speech,

The purification of your entire energies is happening and when you have this energy center fully activated,

Your speech becomes very very powerful.

Those leaders who are leading an entire large masses with just their speech who have that power of speech which is especially,

Which is very very special for them which you can notice that somebody who has great speaking skills is not because of only their mind and all the background that they have but rather also because their Vishuddhi center is very active,

Their Vishuddhi center is very pure.

When you go further up,

The sixth energy center,

The Ajna chakra,

The third eye chakra or you can call it Agnya chakra.

Agnya in Sanskrit means taking directions,

Knowledge,

Taking instructions.

This is the chakra where you start receiving information,

Knowledge from higher sources.

This is where when this center gets activated,

You get psychic powers.

When you go even further,

You go out of the body.

So the seventh chakra,

The seventh which is called as crown chakra in English,

In Sanskrit it's called Sahasrara which means a thousand petaled lotus which is simply a representation to say that when you have reached that stage,

Your energy explodes,

Your consciousness explodes into the cosmic,

Consciousness into the cosmic energy and after that there is no coming back.

So this is the peak of what you can take your energies from the bottom of the spine to the very top.

Those who are practicing Kundalini yoga,

Those who are dedicating their entire life to this dimension of yoga,

Their whole goal is to how to take the energy from the bottom of their spine to the very top and to the crown,

To this crown chakra,

To the seventh chakra.

We in this session cannot do that.

What we are going to do this is we are going to imagine and take our attention,

Take our awareness to each of the chakras,

Become aware how does it feel,

What are the sensations,

Do you feel any change in the emotion,

In the mindset,

In your sensations as you proceed along.

So for the meditation,

We are going to start with the first chakra,

The root chakra and we are going to bring our awareness there and we will move step by step,

One chakra at a time and go each chakra higher than before and we will reach to the crown chakra with our awareness and then we will step down all the way down to the root chakra.

All you have to do is to imagine that there is something like an energy center which is active and try to feel how does it feel in your physical body,

In your deeper sense of feeling,

If you feel something,

Don't try to force anything,

There is no necessity for you to actually feel it but if you even imagine it and just let your concentration,

Let your attention,

Let your awareness settle on each of these levels,

It's enough and rest I will guide you through this as a step by step process.

After we have done this,

We will sit in silence for a few minutes and we will take questions if you have any experiences,

If you feel that there is something that you felt and did not understand what that was,

We will take those questions afterwards.

Anything before we start?

Anything that is not clear about what we are going to do today?

Alright,

One more thing I would like to mention,

While we are doing these chakra activations and we are moving from chakra to chakra,

I may use some mantras,

I may make some sounds,

Please don't get overwhelmed by them,

These are just sounds that are helping to activate these energies,

Ideally once you have learned these meditations,

Once you have progressed in your meditation journey,

You could do them yourself but for today's scope of meditation,

I would not expect you to chant those things along,

You would focus simply your awareness on each of these different levels as we proceed along.

Alright,

Are you guys excited to try this out?

Alright,

And let's close our eyes.

Take a nice deep breath from the nose and exhale from the nose.

Another deep breath in and out.

Keep your body relaxed,

Shoulders down,

Back straight and a gentle smile on your face.

For the next minutes,

You will continue breathing as normally as you always do and only move your awareness on my guidance step by step to all the chakra's energy centers.

Take your attention to the area below the genitals and allow your awareness to settle there.

Feel all the sensations in this area below the genitals and imagine that there is an energy center pulsating with energy.

Glow,

Glowing look,

Praise to the Almighty as he is emanating energy from above you.

LAMM Keep your awareness and attention at the root chakra.

LAMM LAMM Feel all the sensations at your root chakra.

The energy center below your genitals.

Give yourself time for your awareness to settle at your root chakra.

LAMM LAMM Now bring your attention to the second chakra,

Which is present two inches or centimeters below your navel.

And as you transition from the root chakra to this second swadhisthana chakra,

Feel if there is any change in your emotion,

In your mind,

In your energies.

And settle this awareness on your second chakra,

Two inches below the navel.

LAMM LAMM LAMM Feel all the sensations at your sacral chakra,

The second chakra below your navel.

And while you do that,

Keep on breathing as normally as you always do.

Allow your awareness to settle on the second chakra.

LAMM Now we'll move up to Manipura,

The third chakra,

Three to four inches above your navel.

Just imagine that there is an energy center three to four inches above the navel,

Also known as solar plexus chakra.

And as you do this transition,

Feel the changes in your body,

In your mind,

In your energies.

LAMM LAMM LAMM Feel the sensations on this third chakra,

A few inches above your navel.

Simply observe all the sensations.

Don't touch them,

Don't try to change them,

Just remain as an observer of all the sensations.

And we move up to the heart center,

The center between your chest.

Imagine that there is a very small center in between your chest and it's pulsating with energy.

Just remain aware of the center.

LAMM LAMM LAMM Allow yourself to settle in these energies to vibrate on their own accord.

Simply remain aware of the heart center.

And we move higher to the throat center.

As you transition to bring your awareness to the throat center,

Observe and notice all the changes in your sensations,

Feelings,

Energies and everything else.

Bring your awareness to the throat center,

A small energy center at the pit of your throat.

LAMM LAMM LAMM Feel the vibrations at your throat center.

Allow yourself to settle in this awareness of your throat center.

And we move from the throat center to the third eye chakra,

Agnya chakra,

Ajna chakra.

It's a small energy center in the middle of your eyebrow region,

In the middle of your forehead.

As you shift your awareness to this sixth chakra,

Feel and notice the changes in your energy.

LAMM LAMM LAMM LAMM Feel the reverberations of the sound at your agnya chakra,

The sixth chakra in between your eyebrows.

If you see different images,

Thoughts,

Anything,

Just let them come and go while you keep your awareness at this third eye center.

And we go above to the last chakra,

Which is a few centimeters or inches above your head in the space,

Above your physical body.

Just imagine that there is this energy center,

Which is bright,

Shining with light above your head.

And just remain aware of this seshrara chakra,

The crown energy center.

Hold your attention and awareness to this peak of energy at this seventh chakra above your head.

LAMM Now bring your awareness down back to the sixth agnya chakra,

Third eye energy center in between your eyebrows.

LAMM Keep your awareness at this sixth energy center in between your eyebrows.

And slowly go down to the throat center,

Vishuddhi chakra.

And bring your awareness to this throat center.

Stay here for a minute.

And we go down to the heart center.

Bring your awareness to the heart chakra in the middle of your chest.

And then further down,

A few inches above the navel to the fourth.

And you are at this third chakra.

You are a few inches above the navel with your awareness at manipura.

And we go further down to the second energy chakra,

The swadhishthana,

Which is two inches below the navel.

And finally move your awareness to the root chakra,

The area below your genitals.

And hold your awareness there,

Crown yourself there.

Now release your awareness from everywhere.

Just for a couple of minutes,

Sit in absolute silence without any movement.

Just silent and aware.

Remain absolutely silent and aware.

Just for a few seconds more.

And very gently and slowly you may open your eyes.

Свою This last minutes of the session are typically for any questions,

Any comments,

Any wishes.

I can imagine that after this kind of an experience,

Sometimes you just don't want to say anything and just assimilate,

Absorb,

Figure out what you had experienced.

If you want to just sit silent,

It's fine for me.

But if you have any questions,

Anything that you would like to share,

Now is the time.

I would not like you to go out of the session with questions in your mind.

Okay,

Then let me ask a question.

Did you guys like the meditation?

Before I wanted to bring this meditation,

I was thinking about it several times because I don't know if you would enjoy such esoteric content,

Such esoteric experiences.

Because if you go deep into it,

There is a lot to be experienced.

If you want to remain on the surface,

Just want to relax,

Just want to calm down,

That's up to you.

So in these sessions,

Typically we try out different levels,

Different degrees,

Different styles of meditation.

And if you have any feedback,

Anything that you would like me to focus more on and share more in these sessions,

I will be happy to proceed with more philosophical approaches,

Be it more such esoteric approaches.

I'll be happy to do that.

I'm here for you every Monday in this hour.

So it's up to you to decide what we are going to do,

How we proceed in future in these meditation sessions.

Anybody experienced any strangeness?

That's good.

Anybody had any funny experiences,

Any images,

Any sort of,

You know,

When you're shaking up your energy system,

Lots of impressions that were hanging in somewhere,

They start showing up in your mind,

On the screen of your mind.

And you see sometimes images,

Sometimes you hear sounds,

Sometimes,

Well,

I was making some sounds for sure.

But apart from that,

And just anything that was.

.

.

I could feel the vibration,

Especially in the spine.

I could feel it in the arms and the spine,

I could feel the vibration.

Yeah.

Was it a particular.

.

.

Just that it's moving up,

Especially on the arms,

Upper arms.

But this is not physical.

No,

It has a physical interpretation.

You can feel this in your physical body if there are any issues,

If there are any problems.

You generally feel them in your physical body.

You feel them as a pain.

You feel them as something blocked,

Something stuck.

Otherwise,

These are sensations which are more subtle,

Which are not necessarily in the realm of physical body.

If there are no more questions,

Thanks a lot for these clear explanations on energy and chakras. The meditation part has been very strong for me. I could feel the heat of my energy, but the most impressive was how I was feeling. The more the energy was going up, the more I was crying. But it was not a sad cry. It was full of gratitude and a feeling it was healing my body - I have big tensions especially in psoas and clavicles (I lost my westie dog and guide two months ago, and one month after a traumatic talk about our childhood with my younger sister). After it left my heart chakra, it changed and cleansed a bit the throat chakra. With the 3rd eye and crown chakras, I could feel how the energy was strong and pure, serene. And as it was going doing, it was as if it was purifying totally and I was feeling as if I was in what Tibetans call the nature of spirit, very calm, full of love and serenity. Thanks a lot. I needed such a moment.

Tremendously beautiful subtle mental experience ( seeing moving colours, pattern shifting, a ring of blackhole look alike and other things that I can't describe by words or by any other means. I have always been wondering about kundalini but couldn't come to any conclusions. Today I'm blessed and feel enlightened. Thank you for your discourse and guidance.

I found it easy to follow but not easy to do. It was hard for me to visualize/feel my root chakra, and easier as I got higher. I saw very pleasant waves of light circles behind my eyelids as I got to the solar plexus. These changed to more of a violet blue color as I moved higher. When I got excited about them and tried to “look” at them, they went away. If I didn’t try, they came back. I’m new to meditation so I’m not sure what this means if anything, but I found it to be a very positive experience.

The exercise led me to sense energy at the various levels that evidently has lingered unconsciously in and around me for a long time. I don’t know if that is what was supposed to happen, but I was very surprised to discover it was there. It makes me feel hopeful that I can begin to nurture and heal some of the negative energy, as well as capture energy that I possess but has been wasting. .., Sounds so weird, but wow, how interesting.

Powerful meditation. I felt a vibrating effect on my eyes, as if they were fluttering during the end of the meditation which continued shortly afterwards. I saw a few different images. I felt quite a few physical sensations and vibrations rising up. Interested to try this again. Thank you! 🙏🏼
