Hey,
My name is Desi.
Thank you for listening to Meditations with Desi and this is a morning meditation that I recorded back in 2020 and I wanted to re-upload it and share it with you all on the inside timer community.
This community has been so important to me and I want to share all of my gifts that I can in return what has been sown into me.
So I hope that you enjoyed this meditation and I hope that it helps you to start your day off well and as with all of the re-uploads I am going to be uploading a new morning meditation for the inside timer community.
I'm so excited and I hope that you get what you need.
Thank you for sticking with me.
I'm Desi Hall and this is Meditations with Desi.
Thank you so much for sticking with me and for coming back and I hope that you're getting what you need.
I hope that these meditations are useful for you.
I hope that you are feeling affirmed and loved.
Sometimes you need something to help you start your morning out.
Sometimes a good morning can make a difference between having a good day and a horrible day.
Just this week I,
Yesterday I woke up early which is abnormal for me on days that I have class.
I usually try to sleep in right up until the moment that class is starting but yesterday I got up,
I set some intentions and loved myself and I had a pretty good day.
So I think this morning meditation is very important so you all can start the day off loving on yourself.
Find a spot where you can get comfortable.
Find a spot where you can be at peace.
Whether that's sitting down or laying down.
Whatever is most comfortable for you.
Once you're in a comfortable space,
I want you to turn your attention to your breath.
Focus on your breathing.
Notice how you're breathing.
Did you wake up breathing really shallow,
Really deep,
Really fast?
What is the message that your body is trying to send to you this morning?
What is it telling you about your condition?
What is it telling you about how you feel?
What is your body telling you about what you need right now?
Focus on your breath and your body will give you the answers you need.
I want you to take a deep breath in and I want you to hold the breath and now release.
Let's do it again.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold your breath and release.
Each time you release,
Try to make it a little longer.
Try to make your inhales a little longer.
Try to hold your breath a little longer.
Inhale.
Hold your breath and exhale.
Inhale.
Hold your breath and on this next exhale,
I want you to let all the air out of your belly and I want you to push it out for as long as you can.
Exhale.
Release sleepiness.
Release the tiredness.
Release the grogginess of last night.
It's time to wake up and it's time to start your day.
Focus on your breath.
Whenever you find yourself drifting off or thinking about something,
Simply acknowledge the thought.
Think it,
Whatever it is.
If it's a bill,
Say,
I'm going to pay you.
You don't have to interrupt me.
This is my time.
If it's something that you need to go to,
Trust yourself that you're going to do it but this time is your time for yourself.
I want you to picture yourself by a lake.
The sun is shining bright.
You hear birds.
You hear the wind blowing.
It is warm.
You feel good.
You look down at the water.
You see yourself.
You see a perfectly clear and accurate reflection of who you are.
You look at yourself and you say,
I am grateful.
I am grateful that I am here.
You look at yourself and you say,
I am beautiful.
You look at yourself and you say,
I am prepared to take on whatever today throws at me.
You look at yourself and you say,
I am divinely created.
The mistakes that I made yesterday do not matter.
What matters is what I'm going to do today to make my life and the lives of those in my community better,
More equitable,
More joyous.
You look at yourself and say,
I am going to forgive myself for whatever weighed on me throughout the night.
If you tossed and turned,
You say,
I am going to forgive myself for being anxious.
I am not going to be frustrated with myself this morning.
I am going to choose ease today.
I am going to choose grace for myself today.
You look up from your reflection.
You look towards the bright sun and you close your eyes to feel its warmth.
You say a silent prayer.
Thank you.
Thank you for providing.
Thank you for feeding the trees,
Forgiving the birds wind to fly.
Thank you for the flowers that pollinate the world.
I thank you for all of the little gifts around me today.
The little ways in which the world functions to keep me alive.
The trees to provide me oxygen.
The fossils that give my car gas.
My heart that keeps beating.
My lungs that keep breathing.
My blood that keeps flowing.
And my soul that keeps growing.
I thank you for all of these things.
I thank you for allowing me to be a partner in creation.
And that today I can create joy for myself.
I can create a moment of peace for myself.
And at the very least,
I can acknowledge myself.
And I can acknowledge that I am valid and that I am worthy of love just because.
You open your eyes.
You say amen.
You take a deep breath in.
Smelling all of the beautiful smells that you love.
Smelling all the beautiful sounds that you love.
And you are ready.
You are ready to conquer the day.
You are ready for whatever life gives you.
You have all the tools that you need.
You are smart enough.
You are capable enough.
You are trained enough.
You are prepared enough.
You are more than enough.
You wrap your arms around you and you give yourself a big hug.
In this moment,
You love yourself.
In this moment,
You acknowledge that you have made some of the best decisions with the limited knowledge that you have.
Bring your focus back to your breath.
Take a big inhale.
And I want you to hold it for as long as you can.
Breathe out release.
Breathe in joy.
Breathe out frustration.
Breathe in forgiveness.
Breathe out shame.
Breathe in feeling.
Breathe out apathy.
Thank you for allowing me to be with you this morning or this afternoon whenever you are starting your day.
I hope that this meditation is helpful for you and I hope that you have a wonderful day and I am so grateful for you all.
I love you and goodbye.
