Are you feeling down, sad and sorrowful at this moment. Let me take you to a place of joy. This meditation to find your joy invites you to reflect on 8 words that along with mindful breathing power us towards generating joy for ourselves. Joy is within and these powerful words like beauty and being and connections help us in finding joy in this moment.

This 8 breaths of joy meditation has us thinking about 8 words and using our breath to bring the energy of life into these words and these words in turn bring us a sense of joy.

We begin with the first word so take a deep breath in I want you to take a nice deep inhale and a slow gentle easy happy complete exhale.

The first word is the word being.

I want you to bring your breath awareness to the sensation of your breathing in this moment.

Breathe in nice and deep and know that you are alive in this moment.

You are being in this moment.

I am being and just give meaning whatever the meaning might arise within your heart center.

Give that meaning to yourself being the joy of just being in this moment of being aware of your breath of being aware of everything around you just being.

Let's take the next deep breath deep inhale and let's bring to mind the word love.

May I be love.

May love flow through me every single cell of my body.

May it be filled with love.

That love for myself.

That love for who I am.

That love that celebrates me in this moment.

I want you to take a deep breath in and just settle down the word love within yourself and in this moment with every single cell of your body feel this love.

The love of you for yourself and next we breathe in the word moment.

I want you to take a deep breath in and in your mind space.

Think of the word moment.

Everything in your life has brought you to this moment.

Everything you need to be happy and at peace and at ease is present in this moment.

So breathe in with all that you have.

Breathe in this moment.

Our next breath brings in the word beauty.

All of our senses bring us beauty.

The beauty in everything around us that we can see.

The sound of everything around us that we can hear.

The smell and the taste of everything around us that we can experience.

And touch that gives us a sense of form.

All of these in every moment give us an experience of a beautiful life.

Just hold this beauty close to you in this moment.

I am beautiful.

Everything around me in this moment is beautiful.

Bring beauty into this moment for yourself.

I want you to take a deep breath in and with this breath bring in the word connection.

When we are connected to ourselves and connected to everything around us,

Joy comes to us out of a sense of connectedness with those we're close to,

With the world that we experience.

I am connected to everything around me in this moment.

So much of our joy comes from those around us.

Let us in this moment bring that joy to work and live in our heart.

The joy of being connected to those around us.

I want you to take a deep breath in now and bring in the word release.

Let's release anything that is negative within this moment within us.

A feeling of doubt,

A feeling of frustration,

A feeling of hatred,

Of anger,

Of guilt.

Let's release that right now with this breath and focus on the good things in life.

And there's so much good within us and without us that we can bring to life to give us a sense of joy.

Letting go and releasing is so important to make space for joy in this moment.

Next,

Let's bring the word alive,

Alive.

I am alive in this moment.

I am breathing and this life is precious to me.

I am alive.

What a beautiful feeling you get of that aliveness of you.

It raises your energies and brings you much joy.

Take a deep breath in,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep,

Deep inhale.

I am alive.

That sounds like joy.

I am alive.

Just breathe that in for yourself right now.

And finally,

Let's bring to mind the word grieving,

Grieving in a positive manner.

The sense of desire,

The sense of wanting something,

The sense of looking forward to something.

What is it that you look forward to in this moment from life?

Bring that to mind.

I want this.

I desire this.

I crave this.

It brings joy to know that we are living for something.

It brings hope and it brings happiness.

To enjoy life to the fullest brings joy.

Take a deep breath in now and a slow,

Gentle,

Easy exhale.

I'm going to end this meditation with a chant by Paramahansa Yogananda.

It's a nice easy chant.

I will be saying it three times.

We come from joy.

Joy is what brings us to life.

That's what we all live for.

Take a deep breath in and just allow this moment to sink in.
