Welcome to this mindfulness practice as we focus upon the quality of just being.
When you are here,
You are there.
When you are there,
You are here.
In fact at most times you are everywhere but here.
And yet here the now is the only moment we truly know.
The only moment that is promised to us.
And the only instance in which we are truly aware.
The mind constantly traips us back into the past or skips off into the future.
When you are completely in the now,
This deep,
Deep peace emerges.
You are residing in the universe's sigh of contentment.
And yes,
The mind will frolic about and saunter off on its own.
For that is what minds do.
Reach out and catch it and bring it back to the now.
Back to the present.
Draw it back gently to this incredible moment.
Whether you have chosen to sit up or lie down,
Find somewhere quiet,
Warm and peaceful.
Cover yourself in a light wrap or blanket for a sense of security and ease.
Softly close your eyes.
Gently roll your head from side to side with full awareness.
Relaxing the back of the neck,
The throat and the shoulders.
Open out through the chest as though your heart is reaching out to the farthest corner of the room.
Then you are softening your whole body.
Inhale and fill the body with breath.
And as you exhale,
Release all tension and fatigue.
Release your chatty mind into the ether.
Come out of your headspace and into your body.
Bring your attention to your toes.
Gently relax the toes,
The soles of the feet,
The tops of the feet,
The heels,
The ankles.
As you breathe out,
Exhale all tension from the feet.
Relax your calves and shins.
Sense the spaces behind the knees.
Yes,
You can sense space.
Relax the back of the thighs,
The front of the thighs.
Release your buttocks.
Release all tension.
It's as though you are falling deep into the core of the earth.
Sense the lower back and allow it to soften.
The middle back.
The upper back.
Let go.
Draw your attention to your hands.
And your fingers,
One by one.
Sense a gentle pulsing in the palms of your hands.
You may sense a tingling or pulsing or warmth or even cool.
It's different for each of us.
Relax the wrists and notice the energy flowing around your wrists.
If you feel your mind is wandering about,
Bring it back to your body.
Sense.
Feel.
Relax the lower arms to the upper arms to the shoulders.
Drop your concerns,
The weight of the world,
The burdens and worries.
Come into the moment and release all that binds you.
Bring your awareness to your face.
Drop the jaw.
Relax the wings of your nose,
The sides of your nose,
The bridge of your nose.
Soften the eyes.
Above the eyes.
Behind the eyes.
Deep within the eyes.
Relax the forehead from temple to temple.
Smoothing out all frown lines and restoring your mind to a state of tranquility and equanimity.
Feel the softness,
Calm and harmony throughout your whole being.
When you are here,
You are there.
When you are there,
You are here.
And when you are completely in the now,
A deep,
Deep peace emerges.
You are residing in the universe of Sive contentment.
Be mindful of breathing in.
Be mindful of breathing out.
In this moment.
This soothing moment.
Here.
Now.
Peace.
Peace.
I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
In this moment.
This soothing moment.
Here.
Now.
Stillness.
Stillness.
I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
As the mind wandering.
Reach out and catch it and bring it back to the now.
Back to the present.
Draw it back gently.
To this moment.
Here.
Now.
Being.
Just being.
Here.
Now.
Being.
Being.
Silence.
Silence.
Calm.
Calm.
How she will remain silent for a little while as you come into the moment.
And allow the peace to be within you.
You will soon hear my voice again.
Enjoy.
And if the mind is wandering again,
Just bring it back.
Bring it back to the breath.
When you are here.
You are there.
When you are there.

But when you are completely in the now,

When you are fully in the now,
The beauty,
Mystery and magic of this world are unfurled.
And its gifts are laid before you.
Be aware of being in your body.
Draw your hands slowly towards your heart and place one over the other.
Notice the beating of your heart.
Notice how you are feeling.
Gently open your eyes.
Take your time.
And perhaps awaken your body with a long,
Deep stretch.
Be well.
Be present.
Be happy.
