Welcome to this mindfulness practice on being fearless.
In other words,
Believing in yourself.
Believing in yourself to create the life you wish to have,
The dreams you wish to manifest,
To be the person you aspire to being,
And to journey through this world with a sense of wonder,
Adventure,
And joy.
I once asked my yoga teacher,
How do you keep out of darkness and despair?
And she looked at me as though I was half mad and said very slowly and plainly,
In order to come out of darkness,
You simply have to step into the light.
It's that simple and it's the choice you make.
I realized long ago that every thought seed that we plant will one day bloom.
Positive thoughts will bear positive fruit.
Negative thoughts will bear negative fruit.
It's the difference between the weed and the rose.
This applies without doubt to how we mold ourselves and mold ourselves we do.
We can walk the highway as it broadens out to infinite distances and possibilities.
We can remain huddled up into ourselves too frightened to walk out the front door.
And so,
What are some of the seeds we need to plant?
Let us reflect on these for a little while.
After all,
Dreams cannot manifest without taking action.
Close your eyes gently now.
Ensure you are in a quiet place.
Take in some long,
Deep,
Luxurious breath.
I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
I feel my breath as it penetrates my whole being.
Into my fingers,
Into my toes,
Into my heart,
Into my belly.
And now in your imagination see your body standing upright.
Your palms are open beside you in an attitude of giving and receiving.
Your back is straight.
Your head held high.
Your face soft and open.
I feel well.
I am well.
In my heart.
In my body.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Deeply.
Slowly.
My mind is the most powerful implement I own.
I step into the light.
But I am calm and peaceful.
I feel strong.
I am master of my mind.
When I feel frail and agitated and full of self-doubt,
My mind becomes the master of me.
But I am at the helm.
My heart is my guiding force.
As I breathe in I draw in energy.
To stand tall.
To stand up.
To stand against.
And to stand for all that is important to me.
All that is needed to sustain me.
I sense the breath through my bones.
I sense the breath through my joints.
I sense the breath through my muscles.
Holding me upright.
Tall and strong.
We do not attract what we desire.
We attract what we are.
My innermost beliefs are fed by my thoughts,
Nurtured by my truths,
Expanded by my faith and transformed by my desires.
I am the only one who can stop me from growing,
Achieving and being free.
To come to fruition my dreams and desires must be harmonized with thoughts and actions.
And I must stay true to myself.
I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
I feel strong.
I am strong.
I feel safe.
I am safe.
I feel joyful.
I am joyful.
I feel calm.
I am calm.
I feel free.
I am free.
Freedom is my destination.
Freedom from limiting beliefs,
From self-criticism,
From regret.
Freedom from my errors.
Freedom from sadness.
Freedom from perfectionism.
I care for myself.
I accept myself.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
And remember the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Rest for a little while.
Be peaceful.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om.
Peace,
Peace,
Peace.
