Hello,
I'm Diana and I want to welcome you to this meditation,
Drifting into Rest.
I invite you to begin by getting yourself comfortable.
Perhaps lying down,
Allowing your body to settle naturally.
There's nowhere else you need to be right now,
Nothing you need to do.
Just this moment,
Just this rest.
Gently close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath.
No need to change it,
Just notice your breath.
The soft rise in your chest and the fall of your chest.
Let each exhale be a quiet invitation to soften just a little more.
Feel your body supported beneath you,
The weight of you gently held.
Your legs heavy,
Your arms soft,
Your shoulders dropping.
Allow your jaw to unclench,
Your tongue to rest.
And now imagine a warm gentle heaviness beginning at the top of your head,
Slowly moving down,
Softening your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Drifting down into your neck,
Your shoulders.
As if each part of you is quietly letting go,
Without effort.
That warmth continues down your arms,
Into your hands,
Down through your chest,
Your belly.
Let your belly be soft,
Completely relaxed.
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to brace.
The heaviness moves through your hips,
Your thighs,
And your knees,
Down into your calves,
To your feet.
Until your whole body feels warm,
Heavy,
And deeply at ease.
Your breath is now slow and natural.
And with every exhale you drift away a little deeper.
There's nothing you need to figure out,
Nothing to solve.
This is your time to simply rest.
If thoughts come,
Let them pass like clouds.
No need to follow them.
Just let yourself drift,
Softly and easily.
As if you are floating,
Held in a quiet,
Peaceful space.
And if sleep comes,
You can allow yourself to slip into it,
Gently,
Naturally.
And if you remain resting,
That is just as perfect.
Your body knows exactly what it needs.
For now,
Just drift.
