Hello,
I'm Diana,
And I want to welcome you to this meditation,
Allowing Yourself to be Tired.
I would like to invite you to settle yourself,
Ideally in your bed,
In a comfortable position.
Let your body be supported by the mattress beneath you,
And by the stillness around you.
When it feels safe to do so,
Gently close your eyes,
Or otherwise soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And exhale softly through your mouth.
And again,
Breathing in,
And out.
There's no need to change anything.
There's no need to fix anything.
Just arrive here.
Bring awareness to your body.
And simply notice,
Where do you feel tiredness?
Perhaps in your eyes,
Or your shoulders,
Or maybe in your chest,
Or your whole body.
Let yourself acknowledge it.
I am tired.
No judgement.
No resistance.
Just truth.
Often we push through.
We override.
We tell ourselves that we should do more.
But right now,
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to soften.
You are allowed to rest.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine your body becoming heavier.
Notice your shoulders dropping.
Feel your jaw unclenching,
And your forehead smoothing.
Let the day begin to loosen its grip on you.
You don't need to carry everything into tomorrow.
For now,
It's enough to simply be here.
Tired,
And human,
And allowed to rest.
If your mind is still busy,
That's alright.
You don't need to silence it.
Just let the thoughts pass by,
Like clouds,
While you remain resting.
Beneath them.
Place a gentle hand on your body,
If that feels comforting.
Perhaps on your chest,
Or maybe on your belly.
And quietly remind yourself,
It's okay to slow down.
It's okay to need rest.
I'm allowed to take care of myself.
Take one final slow breath in,
And a long,
Soft exhale.
Let your body sink a little deeper.
Held,
Supported,
And safe.
And if sleep comes,
Let it come naturally.
And if it doesn't,
Rest is still enough.
In case you haven't drifted off yet,
You might want to ask yourself,
What would it look like to truly honour my tiredness?
Not just tonight,
But tomorrow as well.
There's no need to fully answer it.
Just let the question settle within you.
And thank you for joining me today.
Till next time.
