Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now as we gently begin to go inwards together.
Going nice and slow here,
Giving yourself an opportunity to really arrive,
To really land in this moment,
Connecting with your breath.
And as we slow down and begin to take deeper breaths,
Let's take stock of where we're at.
How are you feeling in this moment?
Remembering that all feelings are acceptable,
All feelings are welcome.
How is your heart this morning?
How is your mind this morning?
How is your body this morning?
And we are going to practice allowing,
No need to fix anything,
No need to change anything.
Just allowing our heart,
Our mind,
And our body to be exactly as they are.
And before we go into the next part of our practice,
Just sharing a little gratitude with ourselves.
Thank you,
Beautiful heart.
Thank you,
Curious mind.
Thank you,
Incredible body,
For everything you do.
And if it's available to you,
Maybe placing one hand on your heart,
One hand just above your belly button,
And just holding yourself and loving yourself for a moment.
Thank you,
Beautiful human.
I love you,
Beautiful human.
I've got your back,
You've got my back.
You can place your hands down on your lap or leave them where they are.
It's just nice to start things off with a foundation of gratitude.
Sometimes we're so close to our humans,
To ourselves,
That it's hard to see how far we've come.
It's often easier to see,
To acknowledge others.
In order to really see ourselves,
We need to slow down and zoom out.
Let's do exactly that.
Let's slow down,
Zoom out,
And just take a moment to see yourself.
And from this slowed down,
Slightly zoomed out perspective,
I'd like to invite you to say one true thing about your human.
One supportive,
Loving,
True thing about your human.
And maybe that was easy for you to say one true,
Supportive thing about your human.
And maybe that was very difficult.
My loving suggestion to you is be gentle with yourself if it was difficult.
It takes practice and we're going to do exactly that.
We're going to practice once again.
From this zoomed out perspective,
Are there other true and supportive things you'd like to share with your human?
Is there something supportive,
Kind,
And true you can share about your human's appearance?
Is there something supportive,
Honest,
And kind you can share about your human's personality?
Is there something you can share about how far your human has come,
Some celebration?
And lastly,
Is there anything else that feels honest and accessible that you'd like to share with your human?
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Again,
Maybe that was easy for you and maybe that was really hard.
Please be gentle.
Self-love,
Self-celebration is a skill.
It takes practice.
There's no timeline.
There's no rush.
This is our last song and I'd love to just make some space for you and your human to connect,
To talk,
To see each other,
And maybe even dance,
Whatever dance means for you.
To bring our meditation to an end,
Let's take one more breath together,
Breathing in and letting it go.
Thank you,
Dear artist.
Thank you,
Dear creator.
Thank you for going on another meditation journey with me.
I'm so grateful for each experience we get together.
Even if I've never met you before,
Even if I don't know your name,
You and I are somehow connected through these meditations and I can feel it and I believe in it in my heart.
For those that are joining live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and share a journaling prompt.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on inside timer,
You can do the same.
Get your journal out,
Get your pen out and see what's here ready to be expressed through you.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
