Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our practice today is intended to remind us of our own power,
To clear us of any entanglement where we are consciously or unconsciously giving away our power to anyone else in the external world.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seat and allowing yourself to settle in.
And if it's available to you,
I'd like to invite you to close your eyes now as we begin to go inwards together,
Allowing any thought,
Any feeling that naturally comes up,
Just allowing it.
There's nothing you need to do here.
There's nothing you need to say or no way you need to be.
In this more still state,
In this quieter place,
Let's begin to take some deeper breaths,
Falling into the rhythm of your inhales and exhales.
There's a calming,
Almost hypnotic rising and falling.
We're going to invite in some softness,
Softening our foreheads,
Softening our cheekbones and our eyes and our jaws,
Allowing the softness to work its way down our body,
Softening our necks and our shoulders,
Down our backs,
Down our arms,
Continuing to take deep breaths,
Signaling to our body that we are safe here.
We are safe here.
We are held here.
We are allowed to go slow.
We are allowed to feel.
We are allowed to be numb and reject all feelings if that's where we're at.
All of it is allowed.
All of you is allowed.
And this softness continues working its way down your hips,
Your legs,
Your knees and shins all the way down to your feet.
And if you'd like,
You can repeat that very simple statement.

Sometimes I like to put one hand on my heart,
One hand on my belly and just gently,
Lovingly hold myself.
It's nice to hear the words,
I am safe here.
It's also really nice to feel contact.

We are safe here.
Take a nice deep breath here.
You can leave your hands on your heart and belly,
Or you can place them back down on your lap.
And with your permission,
I'd like to share some affirmations that remind you and remind me and remind us that we are powerful creators.
We are change makers.
We are big,
Bold dreamers.
Sometimes we forget and we outsource our power to someone outside of us,
Thinking they are in control of our destiny and our future.
And with your permission,
I'd like to remind all of us that we are the ones that have the most potential to impact our own futures.
I've said a lot of stuff,
So let's take a deep breath.
Words often go into our headspace and that's okay.
We love our heads,
But we want to go deeper into our heart space now.
So let's just refresh and let go and begin again.

Is eternal because my power,
My truest power comes from God.

Remembering now that there is a power source deep inside our hearts that is infinite and eternal.
The world can get really loud.
There's a lot of things that can distract us and take our attention away.
A gentle and loving reminder that there is a direct connection inside your heart to source,
To God,
To the universe.
No matter what's happening in the world,
You are always protected.
You are always looked after.
Can you feel that infinite energy source from inside you?

My hope with today's practice is for us to take a moment to reflect and notice if there are places and perhaps people that we are giving away our power to.
There are places and people that we are outsourcing our future and our destiny to,
And they have more power than we do to truly and sincerely impact our lives.
It's a beautiful thing to believe in the goodness of others.
It's a beautiful thing to believe in people.
Personally,
I will always believe in both.
And sometimes I need a reminder that I am a powerful creator just like you are a powerful creator.
If there's something we want to see changed in the world,
If there's something we want to create in the world,
We don't need to wait for anyone to make that happen.
My future is in my hands.
My destiny is up to me.
My power,
My true power is infinite and eternal.
Your future is in your hands.
Your destiny is up to you.
And your power is infinite and eternal.
