Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and this is a 15 minute guided morning meditation intended to help you start your day feeling more focused,
More calm,
And more connected to your power.
Let's begin our meditation by closing your eyes beginning to go inwards together.
Just noticing what's going on in your inner world.
No need to change anything.
No need to fix anything.
Just holding some space for you exactly as you are.
Gently rolling your shoulders back now.
And allowing your heart to take up a little bit more space.
Deepening the breath.
The breath is our way into focus.
Our breath is a simple vehicle in which we can quickly bring our attention back into our inner world,
Into our hearts,
And into our truth.
Taking a few deep breaths now.
And on your exhales just letting it all go.
Practice feeling what it's like to rest,
To let go,
And to return home.
To your heart.
Allowing a gentle softness to fall upon your head,
Your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your mouth and jaw.
You don't need to try.
It's here.
You just need to be open to it.
You are safe here.
You are safe here.
Feeling to soften,
Softening your shoulders.
Imagining any tension just melting away.
Softening your lungs,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Follow this softness as it works its way down to your belly.
What's it like to soften your belly?
Down your torso,
Your pelvic region,
Your thighs,
Knees,
Your shins.
Feeling this beautiful warm softness to work its way down to your feet.
Feeling the safety,
The calm and peace available to you this morning.
Taking a nice deep breath now.
If your mind is wandering,
That's okay.
Feeling into your belly now,
Following the breath from your nostrils or the tip of your tongue down your throat,
Down your lungs,
Through your heart space into your belly.
Bringing your attention to that flowing in and out,
In and out.
I want you to imagine you are sitting on a big rock,
Almost a boulder that's connected to a shoreline.
And the ocean is in front of you.
Take a moment to land here now.
Can you hear the ocean?
Can you feel the sun against your skin?
Can you feel the stability of this rock,
Of this boulder,
Of this shoreline?
Oftentimes the world like the ocean will try to pull us out to sea,
Pulling our attention in all sorts of directions.
So easy to lose the stability and power that exists inside our core.
I want you to feel that stability.
Feel the sacred rock you are sitting on.
Feel that it is connected to a shoreline,
To the ground,
To a mountain,
To the earth.
Feel the support for this rock.
I want you to imagine,
Imagine the waves are getting bigger.
The waves are splashing against the shore,
Against this rock.
You are the rock.
Imagine your own sacred rock within you now.
Allowing the waves in the ocean to smash,
To thrash,
To do what waves and oceans do.
You are the rock.
Imagine your own sacred rock within you now.
As the waves get bigger,
An attempt to pull you out to sea,
Distracting you,
Activating you.
Feel the support this rock has,
The connection it has to the ground,
To the earth,
To the mountains.
You are this rock.
Imagine your own sacred rock within you now.
As you look out into the ocean,
You see that the waves are beginning to slow down.
They are tiring,
And there is a beautiful stillness falling upon this ocean in front of you.
You are the rock.
Your sacred stillness can even impact an infinite ocean.
Can you feel your heart space expanding?
Can you feel your spine getting taller and stronger?
You are the rock.
You dear artist,
You dear creator,
Can access this stillness.
You do not need to be pulled.
You will not be pushed.
At any moment,
Through a few simple breaths and through focusing your attention inwards,
You can find your own sacred stillness and stay focused and stay you.
Taking a few deep breaths now as our meditation comes to an end this morning.
Just allowing yourself to land in this new energy,
To land in the calm and peace and power that you have cultivated this morning.
Thank you for meditating with me this morning,
Dear artists.
My name is Darius and this is the artist's morning.
As always,
There is an invitation for 15 minutes of private personal journaling.
If you are joining us live at the artist's morning,
I'll put 15 minutes on the clock and if you're catching us on a replay,
I invite you to do the same.
Thank you for meditating with me and we'll see you next time.
