Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and today's meditation practice will be on the theme of feeling grounded,
Feeling rooted and also feeling empowered by our ability to find an internal stillness that exists in all of us.
There's a lot going on in the world.
There's a lot that is in flux like waves crashing on the shoreline.
And sometimes it can feel overwhelming.
And today's meditation is intended to help you connect back with your ability to root that energy,
To remember how solid you are and will always be.
There's no way to do this meditation wrong.
I trust that wherever it takes you,
There will be something there for you to explore,
Discover and experience.
Let's begin our meditation now.
Your eyes are open and I'd like to invite you to close them now as we go inwards together.
Every morning is different.
Just notice what's here and alive inside you today.
No need to judge or change anything.
Just be with what's real.
Noticing your breath.
Where are you aware of your breath this morning?
Maybe it's in your nostrils.
Maybe you notice the rising and falling of your chest or your abdomen.
Just follow wherever it's easiest for you to be with the breath now.
Together let us take a few deep breaths,
Bringing new energy into our system and letting go of any old energy as we exhale,
Any stagnant energy,
Any energy that no longer serves us.
We're going to let go of with our exhales.
Breathing in now and just letting it all go.
With each new breath,
Feeling a little bit more renewed,
A little bit taller and more solid.
Breathing in again.
Holding at the top for a moment.
Just letting it all go.
You hold so much for so many people.
You can let it all go in this moment.
One last breath together here.
The deepest breath we've taken all day.
Breathing in and holding at the top.
And just letting it all go.
Breathing at your own pace.
Just take a moment to notice if the quality of your awareness is different.
Maybe it is,
Maybe it isn't.
Allowing a gentle softness to fall upon your head now from your forehead,
Your jaw,
Softening even your eyes and your nose.
Softening your shoulders,
Allowing them to drop to the floor.
Your back.
Down your torso.
Down your legs,
Your shins,
Your feet.
Just softening everything.
Any unwanted tension just to melt away down into the earth.
There is power in stillness.
There is power in your stillness.
And there is an eternal stillness that lives inside of you always.
I want to invite you to connect to that eternal stillness inside you now.
Maybe the connection is easy for you.
Maybe it feels distant.
But I promise you this,
It is there.
Even if you can connect with it at 1%,
It is there.
Even if you can connect with it at 100%.
Distractions will find you.
The waves of the ocean will break and splash and distract you from the stillness.
It's inevitable.
And still,
The stillness will remain.
The waves will crash.
The waves will grow.
And still,
The stillness will remain.
That beach where the waves are crashing is connected to a shoreline,
Is connected to the earth,
Is connected to the mountain.
You are the mountain.
The mountain is you.
No matter how loud and chaotic the waves get,
You are solid.
You are deeply rooted into the earth.
You are powerful.
You are big and strong.
And your edges soar into the sky.
You are the mountain.
The mountain is you.
Taking a moment to connect to that eternal mountain that lives inside you.
The stillness,
The rootedness that is always there and accessible to you.
Maybe you can connect to it at 1%.
That's still progress.
Maybe you connect to it at 100%.
Even at 100%,
Inevitably,
The waves will come.
Waves will do what waves do.
They will swell.
They will crash.
They will swirl.
But you are the mountain.
The mountain is you.
You are solid.
You are tall.
You are deeply rooted into the earth.
There is an eternal stillness that lives inside you always.
Before this last track,
I'm going to stay quiet and just allow you to feel in and connect to this beautiful,
Glorious mountain that is inside you,
That is you.
Don't judge it.
Don't try to be one way or another.
Just explore it.
Notice its majestic stillness and all of the nourishment and support that is all around it always.
You are the mountain.
The mountain is you.
You are the mountain.
You are the mountain.
You are the mountain.
You are the mountain.
You are the mountain.
You are the mountain.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
My hope with today's meditation is that you are able to connect and remember the stillness,
The eternal stillness that will forever live inside you,
Even if it was just one percent more stillness.
My hope is that one percent will grow and stay with you for the rest of the day,
Perhaps.
For those of you joining us live at the Artist's Morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and invite us to do some private personal journaling.
For those of you at home catching us on a replay,
Of course,
You could do the same.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius,
And I'll see you next time.
