I used to think that being strong meant being tough,
Holding it together,
Not showing too much,
Pushing through no matter what.
I thought softness meant weakness,
That if I softened I'd lose control,
I'd fall behind,
I'd be taken advantage of.
But I've learned something very different.
Softness is strength.
It actually takes so much strength to stay open in a world that constantly hardens you,
To feel your emotions instead of numbing them,
To listen to your body instead of overriding it,
To stay kind even when things feel heavy.
Softness doesn't mean you stop having boundaries.
It doesn't mean you'll let everything in.
It means you stop fighting yourself.
It means you allow your nervous system to relax,
Your breath to deepen,
Your body to feel safe again.
There's a quiet power in that.
Because when you're soft,
You're more present,
More intuitive,
More connected.
You can feel what's right and what isn't.
You respond instead of react.
Hardness might look strong from the outside,
But softness is what sustains you.
So today,
See where you've been holding tension.
Maybe in your jaw,
In your shoulders,
Or in your chest,
In your hips.
And just for a moment,
Take a deep breath in.
And with your exhale,
Let yourself soften.
You're not losing strength.
You're coming home to it.
Softness is not something you need to protect yourself from.
It's one of your greatest powers.
