Welcome to a meditation for finding peace within the pentacle.
Begin in a position that is comfortable for you,
Either sitting or lying down,
Allowing the body to sink into the earth and be supported by the earth.
Close your eyes.
Be comfortable,
Making any adjustments if you wish.
Make sure you are in a position that will be comfortable for the duration of this practice.
Relax the shoulders,
The arms,
The hips,
The back,
The knees,
And the ankles.
Allow the jaw and neck to soften.
Always know that you are in a safe environment and sacred space.
Become aware of any external sounds you can hear in this moment.
Start by focusing on the most distant sounds,
Moving the attention from sound to sound without labeling the source and without judgment.
Simply allow these sounds to just be there.
Now visualize the body lying on the earth,
The parts of the body touching the earth,
The entire body being supported by the earth.
Now move the awareness from the external sounds to the sound of the breath as it flows freely and naturally between the nostrils.
Become aware of the natural breath,
The spontaneous breath that moves in and out of the body without effort.
Notice the feeling of the breath as it enters and leaves the body.
Feel the flow of the natural breath,
The normal,
Spontaneous,
And effortless flow.
Maintaining awareness of the breath,
Continue to breathe through the belly.
With each inhale,
The abdomen is expanding.
With each exhale,
The navel is drawn in towards the spine.
Now we will deepen our relaxation by bringing peace to ourselves through mindful breathing.
Inhale to the count of two.
Exhale to the count of four.
Inhale one,
Two.
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Do this several times.
With each inhale,
The body is becoming more and more relaxed.
The body is becoming soft,
Loose,
And calm.
Allow this feeling of relaxation to grow inch by inch throughout the body.
Inhale inspiration.
Exhale all negativity.
Breathe in love for yourself.
Breathe out all obstacles in your path.
Spirit before me.
Spirit behind me.
Spirit to the right of me.
Spirit to the left of me.
Spirit above me.
And spirit below me.
Bless my intentions and keep me safe.
So might it be.
In your mind's eye,
See before you a pentacle.
It can be as large or as small as you wish.
At each point of the five-pointed star is a candle.
Envision the candle at the lower left corner of the pentacle now lit.
All hail the element of Earth.
Watchtower of the North,
You are winter and midnight.
In you,
We are grounded.
From you,
We learn to be truthful,
Whole,
And steadfast.
Bless it be.
Envision the candle at the upper left corner of the pentacle now lit.
All hail the element of Air.
Watchtower of the East,
You are spring and sunrise.
In you,
We find the breath of life and our inspiration.
From you,
We learn optimism and to explore our creativity.
Bless it be.
Envision the candle at the lower right corner of the pentacle now lit.
All hail the element of Fire.
Watchtower of the South,
You are summer and midday.
In you,
We find warmth and power.
From you,
We learn to be courageous and willful.
Bless it be.
Envision the candle at the upper right corner of the pentacle now lit.
All hail the element of Water.
Watchtower of the West,
You are autumn and sunset.
In you,
We find purification and renewal.
From you,
We learn compassion and understanding.
Bless it be.
Envision the candle at the upper center point of the pentacle now lit.
All hail the divine and the divinity inside each of us.
Known by many names,
You are the bridge between this realm and the spiritual,
The physical and celestial realms.
Transcending the four physical elements,
You show us the essence of life and the interconnectedness of all things.
Bless it be.
Envision yourself standing in the center of the pentacle,
Absorbing the warmth of the candle's lights and feeling the protection of the elements as they surround you.
You are safe here.
You are welcome here.
You are wanted here.
Spend a few moments finding peace and rest in this visualization of yourself inside this sacred and protected place.
Bring your awareness back to the breath,
The natural quiet breath going in and out of the body.
Maintain awareness of the breath and feel it growing stronger and steadier.
Take a slow,
Conscious,
Deep breath in and let it go completely.
Allow the mind to become external now.
Shift the attention to sounds within this room,
The sound of the breath,
Sounds around the earth,
The sound of my voice.
Now move the attention to the sounds outside the room,
Sounds you can hear without straining.
Be aware of the sounds around you.
Be aware of the body.
Be aware of the breath.
Blessed be the elements of earth,
Air,
Fire,
Water,
And spirit.
Blessed be the Lord God and Lady Goddess.
May there be peace between us now and forever.
Begin to invite subtle movements into the hands and feet,
The fingers and toes.
Perhaps you will choose to stretch lightly.
Do whatever feels natural and comfortable to you.
When you are ready,
Come up into a sitting position.
Take another deep breath and release it slowly.
May each step you take be at a divine pace surrounded by love and light.
