Are you ready to meditate with Cori?
Climb up into your bed and make sure that you're really comfortable.
That way you can relax your body as you lay still and quiet.
Slowly you'll be able to fall asleep as I go through this relaxation process with you.
It's designed to make all of your body,
Every single piece of your body,
Feel really cozy,
Comfortable and relaxed.
First of all,
I'm going to ask you to close your eyes for me.
That way you can shut out the outside world that's all around you.
Pretend that you're going into a different world inside of your mind,
A world of magical mystery and wonder,
A world that's perfect,
That's never scary,
That's always the perfect place for you to go.
Imagine that you're out there in the middle of nowhere,
Sat on the biggest,
Softest,
Comfortablest beanbag.
You know one of those that when you sit down on it,
It kind of hugs all around your body?
This isn't no ordinary beanbag,
It's a giant,
Giant beanbag.
So when you sit back and get comfortable in it,
You can actually fully lay down,
Just like you are doing in bed.
Maybe your bed is really comfortable,
But this beanbag,
This beanbag is the most comfortable thing that you've ever,
Ever laid on.
It's as if you're surrounded by the softest cloud,
Or you're laying in the middle of a giant marshmallow,
All spongy and soft.
Or maybe it's the most gigantic,
Biggest cotton ball,
And you're all snuggled deep down in the middle of it.
In the background,
You hear relaxing sounds.
Maybe you can hear birds singing.
Maybe you can hear the ocean.
Maybe you can hear the wind rustling through the leaves and trees.
The sounds in the background are all relaxing and calming,
And because you're laid there with your eyes closed,
On the most comfortable beanbag in the entire world,
You can start to relax your body.
The first thing that you relax and you really,
Really focus on is your head.
Feel how you can let your head just completely roll back into the beanbag,
Completely let go.
Your head might feel very,
Very heavy,
And you can just let it go.
Your neck doesn't have to hold it up like it does when you're awake.
You can let your head be supported fully by the beanbag.
Notice that every time you breathe out,
Your head sinks just a little bit deeper into the pillow.
Now think about your shoulders.
Imagine that you're pulling your shoulders down away from your head and your ears.
Let your shoulders get really heavy and fall back into the beanbag.
Focus on one of your arms,
Maybe your left arm,
Maybe your right arm.
It doesn't matter,
But imagine that your arm that you're focusing on is super,
Super heavy.
Imagine it's weighted down and you couldn't move it even if you tried,
And it feels really good to be able to relax it onto the surface of the beanbag,
To let the beanbag support your arm so it can fully rest and feel really comfortable.
And then do the same with your other arm.
Feel how heavy that arm is.
It's so,
So heavy.
Maybe it's been lifting things all day.
Maybe the muscles are super tired.
And then feel the beanbag underneath your arm and how it's holding it and supporting it so that you can fully relax into it.
Think about your upper body,
Your tummy,
Your chest.
Allow your back to get heavy.
Imagine your back is sinking even deeper into the beanbag.
Sinking deeper and deeper with every inhale and exhale.
Your heart might be becoming more calm and slowing down.
Your breath might be slowing down.
Your chest and your tummy feels very,
Very heavy and relaxed.
You're so comfortable on this beanbag,
And the nice sounds of nature in the background make you feel relaxed even more.
You could visualize that it's the perfect sunny day around you.
Bright blue sky,
Big golden sun in the sky.
Feel the bottom of your back and your hips and your upper legs and your lower legs.
Feel all the bottom part of your body getting heavier and heavier.
Imagine that your legs and the muscles in your legs have been working super hard all day and now they get to just feel all floaty,
But heavy at the same time.
So,
So heavy that you couldn't move your legs,
You couldn't try and get up and run because they're so tired.
They're heavy,
But at the same time you get this really sweet,
Light,
Floaty feeling in your body as if you could float away.
Like there's two different parts of you.
One part of you is laid on the beanbag,
Heavy and relaxed and so,
So comfortable.
And then the other part of you is like a speck of dust,
So,
So light,
Floating up into the sky.
Feel how heavy your feet and your toes feel.
It would be so hard to try and whittle your toes because your feet are so tired and so heavy.
You don't really want to because it's nice to just lay here and be really,
Really comfortable.
It's nice to be so relaxed,
To feel safe and warm.
Maybe you open your eyes and you stare at that beautiful blue sky for a little bit.
You can watch the big,
Fluffy,
White clouds.
The different shapes and sizes and how they move along the sky.
And gently blown by the wind.
Your whole body feels comfortable and really,
Really cozy in this soft,
Giant beanbag.
Maybe you can smell flowers all around you.
Or maybe you can smell something sweet like cookies baking in the oven.
Maybe you can smell fresh bread baking.
Maybe you can smell the ocean.
The seaweed and the ocean and the waves and the sand all mixed together to make its own fragrance.
You're starting to get very,
Very tired now,
So you want to close your eyes again.
You want to just go inside where it's dark and cozy,
As if you were a caterpillar in a cocoon waiting to change into a butterfly one day.
And your cocoon is peaceful and safe.
It's your own special little place where no one can bother you.
And you go inside of your cocoon and you let your body relax even more now.
You didn't think your body could get any heavier,
But it can.
And now it's almost as if you're made of stone,
So still,
So quiet,
So,
So peaceful.
Maybe you start to drift off to sleep and the world around you disappears into nothingness,
Into blackness.
And in the darkness,
You feel safe and warm and protected.
And this lets you fall even deeper and deeper into sleep.
So,
So tired.
So nice to just be able to sleep.
So nice to just relax.
Falling deeper and deeper.
Every breath.
Sweet dreams,
My little friend.
