Hello,
My name is Kari.
This meditation is designed to help you to relax very quickly,
Very deeply.
Savasana is actually known as the dead man's pose.
It's what you do at the end of a yoga class.
It's a specific body position that helps you to completely unwind and relax deep into the earth.
Lay down on your back,
Put your arms out away from your body slightly and open your legs as if you're letting your feet relax out to the sides,
As if you're going to do a snow angel.
Make sure that your legs and your arms are in the most comfortable position for you.
Close down your eyes and start to just slow down your breathing.
Feel the connection to either your bed,
The sofa,
The ground,
Wherever you're laying.
Feel the connection to that surface on your back body.
So the back of your head,
The back of your arms,
The back of your torso,
Your legs.
Feel the support underneath your body.
Imagine that that support is holding you.
You're completely safe.
It's secure,
Warm,
Loving and nurturing.
It has your back completely.
For some of us,
We have lots of people that have our back.
And for some of us,
We don't have people that have our back.
So let's all just have something in common right now,
Together.
Let's all be completely supported by the earth that you're laying on.
And know that it has your back.
And with that,
You can start to let go.
What if every time you exhale,
You imagine being held by this nurturing,
Secure,
Safe energy.
It wraps around you and cradles you,
Holds you close.
Every time you exhale,
You can let go even more.
Breathing in a sense of relaxation.
And when you breathe out,
Let your body fall.
Let your body completely melt into that support that's holding you right now.
That's all in essence that you have to do in this meditation.
Your job is to breathe in relaxation,
Breathe out,
And let yourself let go.
As if you're falling deeper and deeper.
Every time you breathe out.
Tiniest,
Subtlest movements.
But you're sinking deeper and deeper into that hold,
That support that has your back.
Start to let your muscles relax.
Let them get super heavy.
As if they're melting into the ground with every exhale.
Let your legs get heavy.
Let your arms get heavy.
Your body.
Your head.
Sinking deeper and deeper.
With every breath.
Knowing that you're safe.
Completely supported and held by the earth beneath you.
Stay here for as long as you need to.
Relaxing deeper and deeper.
Namaste,
My friend.
