Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Make sure that you're laying down and everything is just right in your world.
The lights are dimmed in your room.
You're in your bed and warm and safe.
It's time to relax your body and let go of your busy day so far.
Karianda the witch was learning something very new on her witch journey.
She got to the point where she started to communicate with what she called her invisible friends.
They call them invisible friends because to the rest of the world they weren't really there.
They couldn't see them with their eyes.
But yet Karianda could see them as clear as day.
Sometimes when you close your eyes and you use your imagination you start to see things in your mind.
That's your mind's eye.
What's known as your inner sight or your third eye if you know what chakras are.
Your inner sight allows you to see things that aren't necessarily in your normal sight with your eyes open.
That's why almost everyone couldn't see Karianda's invisible friends.
But she could see them as if they were standing right there next to all of her school friends or her family or anyone else that she was talking to at the time.
They were there but they weren't there.
It's a little bit difficult to understand.
Like when people talk about ghosts and they see ghosts.
It's a little bit like that but most of the time people seem to be afraid of ghosts.
Whereas it was very different for Karianda.
These people were her friends and they were good and they helped her all the time.
For example,
One day she was walking to school and she noticed a boy from school in front of her walking.
He was eating a candy bar and when he finished he threw the wrapper on the ground.
Finally Karianda could see one of her good friends.
This guy was called a shaman.
That's what she called him because he was a shaman and shamans have lots of wisdom about the earth.
They have so many good lessons and stories to tell and they're very connected to mother earth.
So when this boy threw the wrapper on the ground her guide,
The shaman said,
Oh no,
No,
No.
What is he doing?
That's disrespecting the earth.
Now Karianda could hear her guide but the boy in front couldn't.
Karianda said,
Excuse me.
The boy didn't listen.
She shouted it again.
Excuse me.
He just carried on walking.
He had his headphones in and he wasn't paying attention to anyone else in the world except himself and what he was listening to.
Karianda bent down and picked up the wrapper and stuffed it in her backpack.
She ran quickly and tapped him gently on the shoulder.
He stopped and smiled and pulled out his earphones and said,
What's wrong?
Karianda said,
You just threw your wrapper on the ground.
The boy said,
Yeah.
Karianda said,
Well,
Who do you think is going to pick that up?
And if all of us threw our wrappers on the ground,
Then what would the earth look like?
In the meantime,
The shaman said to Karianda,
Good girl,
Make sure he knows that it's not good to throw trash on the ground.
It's not good for the planet or the people or the future generations.
We should respect mother earth.
Karianda said,
It's best if we respect the earth and keep her clean because otherwise we'd be walking around with trash under our feet all the times and we'd be swimming in the ocean full of trash.
That wouldn't be nice,
Walking on the beach when you go on holiday and the beach is covered in plastic and trash and everything that doesn't recycle.
The boy said,
I'd never really thought about that.
Karianda said,
Well,
Maybe you should.
He said,
I will,
Thanks.
And he put his earphones in and sped off and carried on walking in front of her.
The shaman,
Her invisible friend said,
Good job,
Karianda.
Well done,
My little earth friend.
Another example was a time when Karianda was stood with a bunch of her friends and they were gossiping about one of the new girls in school.
They didn't really know the new girl yet.
So they were just making a bunch of stuff up.
Karianda knew this wasn't right.
What if she was the new girl?
What if she was the one that everyone was gossiping about?
It just didn't feel right in her belly and her body.
But yet she wanted to be friends with everyone.
She didn't want to just be alone.
So she stayed in the group and laughed occasionally and pretended to be part of whatever was going on with all of her friends.
That's when another one of her invisible friends popped up.
Big J,
She called him.
Big J was all about loving everyone.
All of his lessons and his teachings were kind.
They were about being compassionate to other people,
Compassionate to animals,
The earth.
His lessons were about seeing everyone's differences and still accepting them and loving them as if they were part of your family.
So it didn't matter how different you were from someone else.
You would never be mean.
You would try and be open-hearted and kind and compassionate and use your words carefully.
Words can hurt people.
Gossiping can hurt people.
That's what Karianda could hear in her head.
And then she saw Big J as clear as if he was standing right there in the middle of all of her friends.
Big J said,
Maybe you should say something.
Karianda was nervous inside.
She didn't want to say something and feel different.
But she knew when Big J was there,
She knew she had to say something.
Karianda said,
Maybe this new girl's really nice.
Maybe we should ask her to come over and have lunch with us.
I think it would be really nice if we just had a conversation with her and found out about who she was.
Can you imagine being new to a school?
Some of her other friends said,
Yeah,
It's so nerve wracking.
I would hate being new.
Karianda said,
Exactly.
Why don't we just be nice and be friends with her?
Welcome her to the school.
A couple of the friends in the group that were being quite mean just a few minutes ago laughed and snickered as if Karianda was being ridiculous.
What's wrong with you?
We're only having fun,
Said one of the girls.
Karianda said,
Doesn't feel like fun to me.
I'm going to go over and say hello.
A couple of the girls that Karianda was next to said,
I'm coming too.
And then the two mean girls that were very,
Very mean were stood alone,
Just left in the dust when the rest of the pack all followed Karianda to go and say hi and welcome the new girl.
Her invisible friend,
Big J,
Said,
Good job,
Karianda.
It's always best to be kind.
This doesn't cost anything.
Remember that.
And whatever you put out to the world always comes back in one way or another.
So if you're kind to people,
You can bet most of the time people will be kind to you.
And then just like that,
Big J disappeared.
There was one time when her blue invisible friend came out.
She used to just call him the blue man,
Was there at the very beginning.
He didn't really look like a man,
But she called him a blue man.
He just looked like a blob of blue color.
That's how she saw him in the beginning.
That's when she started to see things in her mind's eye for the very first time.
And all she could make out was this big blue blob,
Like a big blue orb.
But when he communicated,
He sounded like a man.
A kind uncle,
All like Father Christmas.
She liked his voice.
And she just always saw him as a blue man from then on.
The blue man would help her with all things general.
If she was having trouble with her homework and she didn't understand anything,
Or if she was in a situation where something happened and she didn't understand it,
Or she needed to make a choice or have a conversation,
She would always talk to the blue man.
He was generally good at helping her out of most situations.
He would give her very good advice.
And then she had another friend,
An invisible friend that she called Kay.
Kay was a bit of a trickster.
He was very,
Very funny.
He had bells on his ankles,
So whenever he turned up she heard him first before he would say a word,
And he liked to have fun.
She called him a happy Kay.
He made the world look happier.
Kay helped her to be grateful for things and see the good and the happiness in situations.
Sometimes she would be really sad and really upset about something.
There was one time when her dog died and she was so sad.
She cried and cried and cried,
And then she heard the bells,
And then she saw Kay,
Her happy little guide.
Kay looked a lot like an Indian guru,
Like an Indian god,
Some kind of deity.
She called him Kay just because that's what he said his name was.
You can call me Kay,
And he'd tap on his feet and his bells would ring.
Don't be sad,
He said.
Your puppy's already flying through the sky.
I've seen him twice,
Chasing the stars,
Jumping through the clouds.
He's having so much fun up here.
This made her feel better.
Puppies never die,
Said Kay.
Cats never die.
Animals,
People,
Nothing ever really dies,
Said Kay.
It might seem like it because the body,
The vehicle,
That puppy's body,
Well yes,
Can get sick and things can happen,
And that body dies.
But their soul never dies,
Their spirit never dies.
That lives on and on and on forever,
Said Kay.
It's eternal,
Like,
What would you say?
Like your grandma's snoring after Christmas dinner.
Coriander thought this was very funny.
You know her snoring never,
Never,
Never stops.
It's just like that.
This made Coriander cheer up.
She laughed a lot,
And it was good for her to think about her puppy jumping through the clouds,
Chasing the stars,
Having lots of fun.
Even though he wasn't there with her,
Which made her sad,
It was nice to know that he wasn't actually completely gone.
He just got a different body now.
He was like a star,
A shooting star,
Rather than a puppy's body.
All of her invisible friends were with her all the time.
Sometimes she would get lonely and wish that one of them would appear,
And as soon as she thought it,
There they were.
Each one of them,
Very different,
But each one of them felt like family.
They always,
Always had her back.
They were her best friends.
Coriander learned when she started to communicate and see her invisible friends,
That she was never alone.
Ever,
Ever alone.
None of us are alone,
Ever.
We always,
Always have someone loving us and taking care of us,
Even if we don't see them with our human eyes.
Maybe you're like Coriander and you have invisible friends,
Or maybe your invisible sight,
Your inner sight,
Is not quite developed yet.
But that's okay.
Trust me,
If you want it to happen,
It will come one day.
It's just like when you see things when you dream.
It's the same inner sight that you use when you dream,
As what you use when you're day dreaming.
You could call it day dreaming.
Being able to see other beings from other times and dimensions and realities,
Right there,
As if they're sat having a cup of tea with you,
Right now.
Pretty cool,
Don't you think?
The end.
